When you have to bump a mock draft thread.. you know the last pick has been a while back.

Too bad we cant run up to the podium with our cards and bypass Denver. We wont get 1 round done by the actual draft, let alone 4

Not to be a dick, but our offending party, CU Tiger, has been online since the last pick was made. According to his profile, his AIM handle is crashtiger...anybody with AIM wanna see if he's online and annoy him?

This is killing us. Why trade down for more picks if you never get to make them because some guy never makes his pick? Its especially maddening when they have actually been online and still didnt do it, as opposed to never logging on at all

To be fair, it's also possible that CU did send a list to DeTox, and he's just not here posting it (although he was last on around 3am today).

I think I will start scouting who is coming out next year because by the time my pick comes around they will be eligible

I don't know how he is going to be able to get around 6'6" 320 lb tackles. The Steelers need a player around 260-270 to play OLB in the 3-4 nowadays.

Most NFL outside linebackers are between 235-250 lbs. For the Steelers in recent history: Clark Haggans is listed at 243, Joey Porter at 250, Chad Brown (who is bigger now than when he first played for the Steelers) is listed at 245, Greg Lloyd played at 235, Jason Gildon at 253, and Kevin Greene was around 235-240.

There are the outliers that weight 215 or 270, but for the most part Posluszny's size is comprable to other OLBs that have played well in the 3-4. Obviously, you'd love to have the same athleticism with the guy weighing 270, but there are only a handful of athletes that have that size and speed, and most of them end up playing more "high-dollar" positions, like DE or TE.

Thanks to Denver people have had all kinds of time to decide if they want to trade up. You should probably just pick.

I'd still love to trade up, to reiterate, the offer is 2(6) and 3(5) till pick 23 or 24. After that point I'd have to get back a 5th, figuring "chart value"

And I'm sure we can all do without your smartass remarks (the NFL is kinda funny about not wanting slow WRs; no draft expert in the world has him that high...).

A simple "interesting pick that could be debated" would be sufficient.

edit: Oh, and here's a guy who is as close to a "draft expert" as you'll get on the internet, having Meachem going 8 picks ahead of Bowe.

With the 22nd pick, the Dallas Cowboys select CB, Darrelle Revis, Pittsburgh.

Cowboys could use some depth/youth at WR and CB and I feel Revis is the best player available of those two positions.

PMing Schmidty...

Just so everyone knows ahead of time the Colts are looking to move down from #32 if anyone is interested. I know people will want to see who falls but I just want to throw that out now.

Alright, I waited a bit, but I don't want to hold it up any longer:

24. The New England Patriots select - RB from California - Marshawn Lynch

I think, easily the BPA, and with Maroney coming off shoulder surgery at the end of the season we'll grab a great insurance policy. I would've liked to trade back a bit, but this mock has been held up way too much already.

That would be fantastic. I don't think there's any way he lasts that long, though.

I agree...once he got to 20 I thought about trying to trade up a bit to get him, so I definitely can't complain about getting him at 24.

Very happy with this pick, for sure.

Had Griffin not been available, I probably would've went with help on the defensive line, probably Jarvis Moss or maybe somebody to eventually replace Trotter in the middle like David Harris. Greg Olsen at TE was also a possibility.

EDIT: Actually, Sublime 2...I fully expected Griffin to go to you with the 24th...the Lynch pick surprised me somewhat.

The New Orleans Saints select: Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee

Most talented player left on the board, IMO, and an area of depth needed for the Saints. All the CBs on the board rate as second round type material, so that will have to wait.

Good pick...I had Griffin or Timmons pegged, and had to take Timmons since we have a huge hole at the WLB position. I really like Griffin, though.

Well I agree, but...it's not like I'm drafting an insurance QB. I don't see anything wrong with drafting a RB who could/should go possibly ten picks earlier than 24. Especially if the RB in front of him (Maroney) has yet to prove he can carry a full load. There are obviously bigger needs at S, CB, and ILB...but I couldn't see taking someone who could be taken 4 picks later at the 28 spot. Unfortunately, I fully expected Griffin to last till 28, so my plan did backfire a bit. With all that said:

28. The New England Patriots select - from Miami - Brandon Meriweather S

He may not pass the (possibly overrated) 'Patriot Character' test, but I think Meriweather is right in line with Griffin skills-wise, if not better.

29. The Baltimore Ravens select - from Texas - OT Justin Blalock

Is he a tackle or a guard? Try him at RT first, then move him inside if he fits better there. Either way he's a quality lineman to help protect McNair (who needs all the protection he can get) and help open some holes for McGahee.

I was actually going to try and trade up to get Revis, as I think he would be perfect as a replacement for the declining Rolle, but the pick came in as I was on my way to work... Oh well, if I didn't get Revis or Ross to replace Rolle, it was on to get me a RT! (Baltimore may pick more late in the draft too... They need 'em!)

As much as I hate taking another big WR here to go with Vincent Jackson, I can't justify Steve Smith or Sidney Rice this high and WR is a clear need. Greg Olsen is insanely amazing value right here but I think we have this guy called Gates who can play a bit.

So, with the 30th pick the San Diego Chargers select Dwayne Jarrett, WR, Southern California.

With the 31st Pick, the Bears select Tony Ugoh, OT Arkansas

O/Line isn't getting any younger. Would have snagged Jarrett or Blalock but, they went 29/30.
