The party hasn't started yet, but every party has its share of dorks who arrive early, forgetting to show up fashionably late like the cool kids. Until the party really gets started, this thread is for them!

Wish I'd be able to play, had such a blast in the last one. I'm gonna sit this one out, but I'll be reading along.

Depending on the time schedule I should be able to play. I have two weeks to be able to play (next week and the week after) before my trip to China.

It turns out that next week I will be mostly fighting for my job, so I can't.

Oh, hey, Barkeep49, glad you could make it! If you could just help me out by unfolding some of these chairs and scattering them across the place, that would be great! Thanks!

I'm in if there is room. I'm not generally the costume type, so I'll come as myself. Really, why cover up the awesome?

Welcome to the party, BrianD! Perhaps instead of coming early, you could have taken some time to think of a costume! But, since you're early, can you help me out by setting up some of the decorations? Thanks.

no. The first one is The Horrorpops. I've seen them with Flogging Molly and DKN a bunch of times.

Gimme a minute and I'll find some paramore.

Just a note to those who have created new IDs but can't post...I guess SkyDog has to activate the accounts, and he'll do that when he logs on. I'd advise anyone who hasn't created his or her costume yet to make the ID for it soon (please tell me about it as well) so that you can get it activated by SkyDog faster.

FWIW, I didn't see SkyDog having to activate the accounts. Upon creating the account an e-mail is sent to the associated e-mail address (must be a unique e-mail, not the same as the one associated with your primary FOFC account). Click on the link in the auto-generated e-mail that is sent to this e-mail address and the account is activated.

It is possible that you are seeing something different, but I would be surprised if that is the case. This process is what I saw for each of the 30+ accounts that Tyrith and I created for the previous game.

Thanks, maybe that will help. I'm having people create the accounts themselves, so I'm not really seeing what's going on. Barkeep did mention to me, though, that SkyDog needs to activate it.

Occasionally in the past if something happens where someone gets banned and then tries to create a bunch of new accounts, or something else along those lines Skydog has switched the activation method to manual approval. Usually it is not manual approval and it works as Hoopsguy mentioned. Something might have changed though in the past week, or too many fake accounts have been created or something

This was implemented shortly after you did your registrations. The board has been hit hard with spam.

Any word from SkyDog on this? Looks like he's been here, but people still can't post.

Hmm - and he has not given this ability out to the other mods? Just SkyDog on the approvals for now?

Okay, I'm pulling the plug on this game. I won't delete the thread, though, so everyone can enjoy Lathum's tunes. Rules for another game will be coming in the near future. Signups will end and Day 1 will begin Wedensday at 9 PM.
