Is there a story behind this?...if so I'd love to hear it. Just another seed to plant in my mom's head while she's gardening.

if it makes you feel better, Yellowjackets kill more americans a year than killer bees. mostly from thier underground nest getting disturbed like you did. count yourself lucky

Stung by rocks? Damn you're allergic to everything. And I didn't know rocks could sting. We're all screwed!

well thankfully i was lucky. I hadn't mowed in awhile, and then all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain, and then more. I ended up ripping off my shirt and ran inside. They must have been swarming badly cause I ended up killing about 4-5 bees inside the house. Total sting count was more like 7 or 8, but for the thread title I was going for fiddy reference. The odd thing was that my 3 year old had been singing the `Buzz buzz` Larie bertner song right before i went outside.

The weakest PA Heist I ever heard of involved bees and cutting the grass Anyways...

Seriously, my grandfather refused to let anyone cut his grass that didn't have long sleeves and long pants on. He one time hit a bush that had a wasp nest in it. Cut to old man running, swarm of wasps chasing and you get the idea.

I go outside today through the side door to turn on the sprinkler when I feel pain in my upper back - I turn around and there is a wasp nest right above the door with about 8 wasps hanging from it. I run into the garage and run my back along my truck that is parked inside because it felt like they were still stinging me.

That was some of the most intense pain I've felt in quite some time...

I get the can of wasp killer and exterminate all but two who managed to get away.

My back is still hurting.. wow...

when we moved into our house, there were creatures that were some sort of mutant hybrid of a bumblebee, wasp, yellow jacket, and a lion flying by the door. my girlfriend decided to hit one with a folder. i didn't leave the house for 3 days.

At least we found the nests. Instead of the kids.

I haven't seen one this year. But I did narrowly avert a disaster last fall. When shit happened I was prepared.

Is it wrong that I now have an image of your three-year-old running around the backyard frantically shouting "buzz buzz bees!" with a cloud of yellow jackets trailing behind him while you sit in the kitchen reading the newspaper and muttering about how sick you are of this song?

My neighbor had an underground wasps nest. My daughter was stung three times, and the neighbor kids each got stung before the neighbors found where the nest was and killed the little winged bastards.

Alright, here's some shit.

I mess around with the riding mower all morning, the tire keeps going flat, I eventually say fuck it and go buy a whole new wheel setup. Anyways, I'm mowing the back yard, and I get too close to a stump and fuck up my blades. So I stop the mower, and get out to inspect.

Anyways, apparently I sit down right on a fucking ants nest. I feel something, I have a swarm on my right elbow, and another pack on my knee. And these fuckers bite too. It wasn't sharp pain or anything, but my right tricep is pretty sore right now.
