Individually the players have tactical skill given that they play on high-level club teams, but they don't have a developed & refined tactic for international play.

Doesn't help that it's a 42 year old coach in his first job - apparently he's an ex French international but I didn't recognize the name at all.

Drogba's on for 10 seconds and immediately Ivory Coast look dangerous in the box. No coincidence.

I think Drogba just makes them...better. He draws defense's attention...he gets the other players trying harder because they know he'll be in position.

I guess he kinda...gives them tactical discipline/shape.

Greedy by Gervinho - should have passed to the open guy for a clean 1 on 1 with the GK. Still playing too much like individuals.

Prolly Kolo Toure too to marshal the defense.

Both weird decisions - especially choosing Bamba who is a championship player at best over Toure. He's in my fantasy team as I figured he'd be one of the obvious names on the team sheet. Wonder if he's carrying a knock.

Indeed, or how subbing a particular player can take the wind out of a team's sails. I thought England messed up by taking off Welback - the team seemed to be far less dangerous after he left.

Couldn't help but wonder the whole time after he came on -- is this what Landon Donovan could have done for the US.

I wish the ESPN announcers would stop making mistakes, they don't know football/soccer or the World Cup. Newscaster just announced that the injury to Hulk could hurt Brazil's first team squad for their game against Bosnia tonight. Hulk, on Brazil, yes. But ARGENTINA plays against Bosnia tonight, idiots.

And even if Hulk was hurt and even if Brazil was indeed playing Bosnia, it still wouldn't matter.

18 teams have played and only two have been shutout. Have a feeling Honduras will make it three.

Palacios needs to go. He is making a mockery of the game so far. Three times now rolling around like an idiot and stepped on the French player twice.

Honduras is probably one of the dirtiest playing teams in CONCACAF, if not all of FIFA.

i think basically everybody watching it though "oh shit, the technology did not plan for that type of bounce" when the initial *no goal* appeared
