Puzzle/Brainteaser from real life

I will keep details purposely vague b/c y'all tend to be so good at these.

Yesterday, we decorated for Christmas. When we unpacked a wreath that we like, we noticed that a lot of the fun doo-dads had fallen off of it, but the structure of the wreath was otherwise fine.

As a direct result of that, my wife had a routine repetitive task this morning become slightly more inconvenient than it normally is.

What happened?

My mind jumped to something like small christmas ornaments that look like breakfast cereal getting in the way of sorting out cereal for a picky kid or some other flavor of crazy parent hell. I know this doesn't quite work (like why wouldn't you have just picked up the doo-dads rather than risking the kid choking) but it's where my mind went.

Christmas decorating was yesterday. I'm assuming the wreath unpacking and the doo-dad discovery was also yesterday, which rendered a next-day repetitive task slightly more inconvenient.

What could be this morning's routine repetitive task? Today's a work/school day. Making breakfast? Getting kids/self ready for the day? Packing lunch?

It did involve repairing the wreath

It is an issue that she happened to discover in the morning, but it is not a "morning routine" issue.

Ran out of scotch tape, which was needed for present wrapping?

Ran out of ornament hangers, because you just had enough to hang ornaments for the tree, now used for reattaching the doo-dads on the wreath.

Glitter in her hair. Washing her hair in the shower this morning took longer than normal.

Does your wife own a flower shop or a bridal shop? Does this have anything to do with Quik's automobile collection?

You threw some of the "fun doo-dads" away and they ripped a hole in the garbage bag that your wife was taking out.

These are good, but mostly off the mark.

The thing that was made mildly more inconvenient this morning was not holiday related. It is something that she (and a lot of other people) do most every day.

This is the answer that could probably most likely lead to further fruitful exploration.

Any chance that the doo-dads fell back off when your wife took your dog out? Assuming it was hanging on the front door, I could imagine that being frustrating - especially in the morning when it is cold and parents are generally in a hurry.

Doh! Had the window open for awhile before replying and missed the update.

How about glitter on her work shoes?

I think using fruitful here is a clue.

Something like the glitter somehow got into the fruit she likes to put in her oatmeal or something.

Yes!

She glued the do-dads back onto the wreath. And woke up this morning with gorilla glue still on her fingers--which made a very particular thing more inconvenient than normal. What was it?

(Mind out of the gutter, people).

Flossing?

I'm trying to think what could be made inconvenient by having glue on your fingers.

Yup!

She glued stuff on the wreath on Sunday. And she woke up Monday with glue on her thumb dried on, so she could not unlock her iPhone with her thumbprint. So she had to type in her passcode like a caveman.

I haven't thought about those for a minute, but we used to get those when I was growing up. Near as I can tell, it was basically Chex mix in a box with extra seasoning for people too lazy to make Chex mix.
