I wouldn't expect you to post every single day though. It's one of my very favorite seasons of baseball. Also love '86. I played the crap out of those cards. Skipped '87, then loved '88 after LA won it all. Man.....what a trip down memory lane.

Glad you are enjoying it. This was the first season I owned. Had it in the card format first, then it was the first season I bought for computer. '88 was the second card season.

Cincinnati came up with 3 runs in the 4th inning when they had 3 base hits. The big moment was provided by Dann Bilardello who excited the crowd when he laced a base-hit which was good for two runs. Although they lost, Houston did out-hit Cincinnati 11 to 8. The win went to John Stuper(1-1) who allowed 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings. Joe Niekro(0-5) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 4 runs and 5 hits in 5 innings. PITTSBURGH AT LOS ANGELES Pirates......... 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 2 10 0 Dodgers......... 0 0 2 010 0 1 0 - 13 14 1 Win:Valenzuela(5-1) Loss:Rhoden(0-6) Homeruns- P.Guerrero-3(12th) Pedro Guerrero slammed 3 homeruns and Fernando Valenzuela tossed a complete game as the Los Angeles Dodgers ballclub embarrassed the ice-cold Pittsburgh Pirates by the count of 13 to 2. Guerrero had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He cracked a two-run shot in the 3rd inning, slapped a single bringing in a run in the 5th inning, brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer in the 5th inning and blasted a solo shot (his 12th of the season) in the 7th inning. Los Angeles had 14 hits for the afternoon. The victory went to Valenzuela(5-1) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Rick Rhoden(0-6) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 7 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings. Los Angeles continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 6 games and counting. 'We've really come alive lately,' Tommy Lasorda said. 'We won some tough games and I feel real good about this ballclub right now, and hopefully we'll continue the roll we're on.' Atlanta surrendered all of the runs Montreal needed in the 2nd inning showing no mercy on Atlanta as they plated 8 runs on 5 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Bryn Smith(4-0) and Montreal. That was all the run support Smith required. Reardon pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 11th save. Rick Mahler(2-3) suffered the loss. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 walks. The win was credited to Koosman(2-1) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run. Koosman got help from Don Carman who was credited with his 2nd save. Dwight Gooden(4-3) ended up with the loss. He surrendered just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Chicago won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Jody Davis led off and started the rally when he banged out a single. Gary Matthews came to the plate and drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Richie Hebner stepped up to the plate and he doubled driving in a run. Bob Dernier struck out, unable to help the rally. Chris Speier stepped into the box and laced a one-base hit which accounted for two additional runs. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning. The winning pitcher was Warren Brusstar(3-1) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Lary Sorensen earned his 1st save. Eric Show(4-2) took the loss. ST. I really need the Cardinals to be wrecked with injuries so they have to forfeit every single game. The '85 Cardinals can get stuck in a trash compactor for all I care. BOOOOOOOOO Cardinals!
