Similar game that got released this week is Civcrafter. It starts as tapping for three resources, food, wood and rock and then evloves with research, military buildings, raids and clan. In!!! I think the wonder must be what I'm missing. Right now I've got nearly 100k of every resource

yeah, once you unlock the wonder and you start assigning labourers (workers) to work on it, the resources start disappearing like crazy and the progress on the wonder is so tiny... I'M at something like 0.35% done. Herbs is often the toughest since you don't get much...

You'll also need much metal if you get destroyed on a raid and need to rebuild your army.

Yeah leather and metal don't seem to balance well, I guess because of how much food you produce for consumption. I'm at 7,200 leather and just over 1,000 metal

I watched a gameplay of civcrafter and it was dejavu. There was another just like this a year or two ago - don't know if I tried it or watched it - and it's bugging me that I can't recall it. There were probably many so what were the names of similar games that you guys played?

For some reason this one really clicks with me. Not sure if I love you or hate you for the suggestion.

Finally got up to the wonder earlier. Only sitting at .18% now going to take a while for that one.

Here is an interesting thing I noticed. No progress seems to take place unless the game is open. Any of the big "purchases" that have a timer attached progress as expected. But unless the game is open my farmers, loggers and miners dont collect anything. I'm playing on Android is that the same on Apple?

Also noticed a "bug" where miners will continue to find Ore even if the stone storage is full. Seems odd but Im going with it.

I play on my iPad and it's the same way with resources, game needs to be open for them to accumulate. I'll sometimes jack my food gathering to 4000/s and will leave the game there for a couple minutes in order to replenish my storage. I'm not sure it's really a bug about getting ore even though your stone storage is full. Think of it this way, even though the stone storage is full, couldn't the miners simply pick the ore and throw away the stone?

What's kinda odd to me is that there's no storage limit to ore, metal, leather or skins...

what kind of city are you raiding now? Just got wiped attacking a STATE level that had 9 dragons. Lost 3000 soldiers, 3000 archers and about 1500 knights in one raid. Some rebuilding will have to be done. My wonder stands at 0.888% at the moment. Piety will be important as it melts away like crazy when you assign workers to your wonder. It is not capped so I've started building temples like crazy.

Ive got just over 1MM peity in the bank and 500 full time clerics.

I'm just attacking villages. With 500 soldiers. Currently have over 3,000 acres free and unused.

The hard part is its sooooo slow to build in multiples...but ive worn my finger out clicking. SO now I set 1,000 citizens to build at a time for 10 minutes or so.

Currently I have 15,000 Farmers
3000 Loggers
and 5,00 miners

They keep 50 wonder laborers busy at a constant slight surplus.

Wonder is up to .255

ok, I can now build workers in increment of "x10000", given that I have the food in stock for it. I launched a build of 5000 that was set to take 55 minutes this morning. This is much better since I can only play the game in spurts but only being able to launch a build of 1000 every 2-3 hours before this morning kinda limited me. Now, I'll build up my stock of food and will launch a build of 10k just before the end of my lunch break in a few minute and they'll be ready when I log back in after my afternoon of work.

I guess all it took for the x10000 to unlock was to have enough homes to accomodate those workers.

I've also started the research called "The deep" that will allow me to build caves so I can have dragons. Seeing how this thing take 5 days, this means that every dragon I've encountered so far was because that player has paid real money to speed up the research, i.e. 777 gold to get rid of the 5 days.

Ive had 10,000 worker builds for about a day.
Not quite sure how it works but the cost per worker increases each time you do it. I know this because I initally was ablt to cook 10,000 workers at a shot (did so a couple times yesterday) but today I cant hold enough food to start the build. But I have 10,000 farms that should be done in a couple hours.

Wonder is up to about 5.2% at this point.

I have it running on a tablet Ive just left plugged in and running most of the day.

The barbarian raids and attacks are coming more and more frequently.

Also tried leaving it running over night the other night, and that ended badly. Couple of attacks put me in a food deficit, people starved, corpses got others sick. I woke yesterday to 45 citizens alive. 70,000 corpses. No graves and 10,000 sick. That took a while to clean up :/

I've started playing DomiNations. It is similar to Clash of Clans and other war games. I haven't played those, but in this one you have to build up your economy as well to build troops. Is anyone else playing and want to join an alliance. I should be pretty close to being able to create one.

What Ive turned to doing (playing very sparingly this weekend) is pooling resources, then when they all get over 2MM or so....dropping 20k workers on wodner for 5-10 minutes and consuming those resources in short spurts.

yeah, that's what just occured to me that I should do, just had to rebuild me army a bit so I could go on raiding to get more resources...

I'm even lower than what I thought, at 4.4% now. Hate raiding and coming across an army with something like 9 dragons... I'm 1d 5 h away from being able to build caves and mysel getting some dragons...

I dont get much resource from raiding, I raid only for land.
Ive got about 150k citizens. Takes about 85k to keep the food positive.

35k each on logs and mines.
Im raiding onlu suburbs now. Ive got 2k soldiers, 1000 archers, 200 knights. Im usually attacking 50-75 soldiers and a dozen or to archers.

Get 3000 acres each victory. tahst plenty to build houses and storage on.

Food is basically out of the game. Have 20MM in reserves and 10MM each skins and leather. limiting resource seems to move around between ore/metal/herbs and deity. Deity currently is flavor of the day.

How do you get ore for the wonder? I turned al of my blacksmiths off and my ore stays at 0 and my metal goes down. I also have full stone at 135k right now and 2100 miners.

So you have to keep your wonder workers in proportion to others.
For example my current distribution is:
117,000 farmers
35,000 loggers
40,000 miners
1600 tannrers
1600 blacksmithss
7500 clerics

600 wonder laborers.

IOW your miners are finding ore and your wonder workers are consuming it as soon as they find it.

Thanks. I also had 600 wonder laborers, but not nearly as many workers. I pulled back to about 100 laborers and now my production is more balanced with small growth in all groups.

I was playing along a minute ago when my daughter walked through and knocked my tablet in the floor and it shut off. I rebooted it and logged back into the game and it is asking me to create a new acount and all my progress is lost. I was just over 60% on the way to my wonder and now all progess seems lost.

Sent an email to support so we will see if they get back. But I was hoping I was still showing in clan and if so at least my account still exists out there somewhere.

What would be the end result of achieving your desired balance? Re-election? Wealth?

I can appreciate games with thoughtful mechanics but without a "winning goal", they become more busy-work that does not sustain.

Just to update they finally responded back to my trouble ticket and said the data couldnt be recovered, however they gave me 5,000 coins to rebuild.

Its not a perfect solution but better than nothing.

Cheers for the tip. It was £1.49 for me, but made a 3.5 hour flight fly by. Don't know if it's beginners luck or it's a little easy but I turned around the UK easily enough, got reelected and now have a 99% approval rating, an ever growing GDP and have pretty much brought in all bar 2-3 of the policies I wanted to.

In the mid first term my credit rating dropped to C as my plan was spend on mid-long term fixes rather than short term band-aids, but it didn't really have much of an effect on the my popularity with any major group other than the capitalists, who mustered a terrorist group that got up to 63 in number at it's worst!

Good little time waster though and will carry on to see if the game will surprise me with a twist or if I have created a money making machine that will keep me in power for a good while yet.
