Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Curtis – 330 of 604, 3139 yards, 14:12, 68.7 rating

Not as good as he should have been

Rushing

RB Swager – 283 of 823, 2.91 ypc, 2 scores

Wow Swager…

Receiving

Here you can see Sprinkle and Swager each had more than 100 targets but not Springfield. Not a good year here for any of these things. Quiet year for receiving.

Blocking

We had some injuries here, and none had even 20 KRB…

Wow

Special Teams

K Stewart – 20 of 21, Long of 51, 17 of 18 PAT

Not bad Stewart!

P Ellison – 122 punts, 45.7 avg, 40 in 20

Good stuff Ellison!

We had no RET Scores

Davidson led my team with 22 special teams tackles

Defense

Here you can see the massive amount of tackles Wagener got, and his 3 sacks were solid for an ILB. Hampton was 2nd in tackles with 103 which was solid. Wagener…led the league in solo tackles. 5 sacks by rookie Ondes which is pretty good for a guy that bad. Obviously not a good year here.

Pass Coverage

Wagener led my team and the league in pasdef and Riley had 3 picks and 9 pasdef. This was about what you’d expect for an all rookie secondary save for Bowman.

Now RB Swager dropped to 56/56, so do I want a better one at the 1.1 spot? There is a solid underrated horse on the board. There is a stud K that’s As Scouted I want to come away with.

I sign all of my RFAs

Any targets?

I make offers to these players

FB Lester Rose – 4.6 mill, 1 year
DE Bucky Polk – 130 mill, 4 years
SILB Jon Alston – 13 mill, 2 years
FS Devan Phelan – 41 mill, 2 years

Week 2 – Alston signs with Greenville for a lot less

Week 4 – Phelan signs

Week 5 – Polk signs

Week 8 – Rose signs

See you at the draft!!!

The 2077 NFL Amateur Draft

Who do I like…

RB Harold Lincoln – Underrated, solid bars. Do I go RB here? Swager is in his 6th year and dropped to mid 50s last year, so grabbing a stud here would make sense.

DT Dale Anderson – Best player on the board, very underrated… how could I not want to grab a stud NT that would solidify my D line?

OG Ken Shepard – Stud, underrated.

Here’s Lincoln…

I’m leaning for Lincoln, who’s not amazing, but should be solid. But I could stick with Swager and then grab a few other studs here at the 1.1 spot and then get a RB later. But here’s the thing…Swager is in his 6th year as a player, and has just mid-50s and will drop again soon. Lincoln is better and younger….

I’ll sleep on it…

I snatch Lincoln. He’s younger and better and cheaper than Swager.

2.1 - Who do I like here? Who fell?

SILB Dusty Hedges – Looks good and we need a good WLB backer. He’s a pass rush stud and I could move him over.
OG Rodney Spiak – Solid bars for here, overrated
DT Mo Fishley – Best player on the board, I need a strong NT
TE Jeffery Allen – Looks great for 2.1
WR Myles Oswell – Solid looking WR.

Hmm…I go Hedges. We are a 3-4.

3.1 – Is this too early to grab the K stud in this draft? I take him, Britt Ramirez. Wanna see him?

Here he is! Looks like a strong stud, right? Right!

4.1 – I need a second WR, so how about Andy Schwartz? There is a solid OG on the board named Alvin Banks but he is not great at run blocking in a smashmouth style offense. I also like DE Diego Cox who looks pretty solid. Hmm…. I go Schwartz. I need another WR. I need a starting OG. I need a DE across from Polk. What do I do? I go… DE. I can’t have two openings at D Line.

5.1 – TE Conrad Flanagan? I like Flanagan a lot. He seems like a grower. I grab him.

6.1 – WLB Donnell Michl? I do it. This guy fell, hard…

7.1 – SS Jerome Williamson looks pretty solid. LT Jordan Smithwick? DE Ivan Westbrook? I go LT. I can move him to OG if needed.

I move Hedges to WLB

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 - RB Harold Lincoln, Columbia, 52/73
2.1 - SILB Dusty Hedges, WVU BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!; 27/64
3.1 – K Britt Ramirez, Boston College, 45/78
4.1 – DE Diego Cox, Virginia Tech, 32/56
5.1 – TE Conrad Flanagan, Ohio State, 34/54
6.1 – WLB Donnell Michl, Michigan, 18/67
7.1 – OT Jordan Smithwick, Georgia, 26/41

There we go! My 2nd draft class will hopefully take me home, country roads.

Here’s Lincoln. He’s good inside and out, and he’s a strong runner and an solid catcher of the ball as well.

Here’s my booming 2.1 pick Hedges starting at WLB. Cool name, better phrase. Need to clean those Dusty Hedges. See those rush numbers? Stud. Hopefully he’ll be my Hudson and get me those sacks.

Lincoln and Cox

Rookie Investigation

QB – This was a three headed monster – QBs at 75, 66, and 62. Then a 59 one too.

RB – Lincoln at 71 was the best RB in the draft. 2 60s, 3 50s, a triangle of talent.

FB – 58. That was the only FB of note.

TE – 66, 64, 64, Flanagan tied for 2nd in the league, the top TE was the one we were looking at with the 2.1 spot.

WR – 3 60s, 6 50s. Were their 12 40s? Nope, just 9. Well that works too.!

OC – 66, 54, that’s it

OG – 81 – the stud we were looking at with 1.1, 71, 64, 7 50. Smithwick is the 8th best OG in the draft.

OT – 71, 4 60s, 5 50s

K – 77, ours was tops

D L – 86, 84, 63, 12 50s. Very bottom heavy. Cox was 3rd best.

LB – 2 at 74, ours was tied for best, 1 at 71, 66, 9 at 50s. My dropped Michtl is 6th best in the league.

DB – 2 70s, 6 60s, 6 50s. Very similar.

Good stuff!

The 2077 NFL Regular Season

Hmmm…I was shocked that we did so poorly last year, so my guess is that we have a loosing season again this year, I predict 6-10.

As a reminder, I don’t deep dive year two that’s usually losing.

Week 1 – Greenville - Alright let’s start this season with an upset over my old team! We…………….lose a high scoring game 34-38. Wanna check it out? Curtis, MVP, 24 of 34, 288 and 2:0, rush score by Swager, Springfield 8 for 111 and 1 score, catch TD by Lincoln, pick by Phelan, pick six by Bowman, FF by Burgess, Clifton and Hampton, 2.5 sacks by Givens

I’ll take that loss.

Week 2 – Portland – We win 23-16

Week 3 – At Detroit – We thump them 30-3. Now that I want to see! Mvp? Curtis, 26 of 48, 239 2:1, Springfield and Flan scores, rush by Lincoln, picks by Hedges, Bowman and Anthony, ff by Burgess, big win!

Week 4 – BYE

Week 5 – At Seattle – We are favored by 9… - We lose 22-29

We are 2-2…

WR Duncan is out.

Week 8 – NY – We lose 0-10

Week 9 – At LA Rams – We lose 16-24

Polk is back

Stats

Offensive

QB Curtis – 359 of 618, 3889, 17:16, 75.1 rating

Dude was 2nd in the league in yards in his 2nd year as a starter! Need to get those TD numbers up.

Rushing

RB Lincoln – 314 for 1096 yards, 3.49 ypc, 5 scores

5th best in yards as a rookie. Good stuff Lincoln!

Receiving

Springfield a great second year. He was 4th in yards, just needed more scores. Lincoln was 2nd in grabs and his 616 yards have him 1.7k yards from scrimmage. Flanagan was great with the ball as well as a rookie. Rose was fun as well. Note that my WRs not named Springfield were 5th in grabs and low in yards and scores.

Blocking

Feh… rookie Smithwick was just 17 KRB and 6 sacks allowed. No one with a pancake.

Special Teams

K Ramirez – 33 of 38, Long of 49, 20 of 25 PAT

Too many missed PATs. Gotta get that number better

P Ellison – 105 punts, 45.8 avg, 40 in 20

Not bad. Not as good as last year, but not bad.

0 Ret tds

OT Davidson 23 special teams tackles.

Defensive

Wagener led my team in tackles with 110 and netted me a pair of sacks. 9 sacks by DT Givens who is…43/43. Crazy! Polk 7 sacks in injuries. Rookie WLB Hedges with a nice 7 sacks in his debut season. Good stuff! Burgess and Wagener led my team with 4 FF each.

Pass Coverage

SS Griffin Anthony with my top picks, we had tons of pasdef by players like Hampton and Riley, and okay picks. Wagener? 2 picks both returned for scores. Good stuff! Hedges’ 3 picks was solid as well.

We draft 1.4. Not bad for 6-10! I investigate loads of folks. There is a stud P that’s underrated I may want to come out of the draft with.

Extensions?

OT England - Wait until post draft
FS Phelan – Wait until post draft
OG – Poock – Ditto
SILB Burgess – Ditto

I sign my RFAs.

UFAs?

I make an offer for Rose to come back. There is a stud in the draft so this may only be a one time deal if I take him like early 2nd.

I do not make an offer for RB Abel Fuller who is also 50+ as Swager is running that roll for me. Actually, Swager dropped to 41/41 and I cut him and make an offer for Fuller.

Fuller – 36 mill, 3 years

That’s it.

Week 3 – Fuller joins us

Week 8 – Rose joins us

Week 9 – Swager heads to Detroit

Drafting fun times? Commence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2078 NFL Amateur Draft

Let’s slow roll this…

Feh the pick I was hoping would be there at 1.4 went 1.3

Pick #1 - Carolina - Blaylock, Eugene, QB, South Florida
Pick #2 - Detroit - Kerr, Stephen, CB, Mississippi
Pick #3 - Chicago - Cox, Roman, T, Kansas

There you are! This is a deep draft in DB and other place,s but light in O Line and coming away with a studly stud OT would have made me happy.

So who do I like here?

WR Brad Crane – Overrated, stud – I need a 2nd WR
OG Eugene Jenkins – As Scouted, great bars, lower run block – I need to improve my O Line.
CB - Moe Hodges – As Scouted, studly
CB Donte Hamilton - As Scouted, studly
NT Joel Sloan – 2nd best player on the board, not great bars for here, underrated
DT Lincoln Crane – Better bars, Hard to Read

I need a 4th DB to replace the aging and dropping in value Phelan. I need a good DT, but after getting an All Pro there its less of a need. I need to replace my O Line as they are not playing well.

Let me pull a few rookies for you to look at and let me know what you think!

Here is Jenkins. As you can see, he’s great everywhere save for the key area of rb.

Here’s my underrated NT that’s pretty developed actually.

Here’s the Hard to Read one. Better bars, but bigger gamble. Also not as developed.

Hamilton has the best bars for the dbs on the board.

None of these would be on the board at 2nd round, so we’ll need to grab one now.

Hmmmm…none of these are as big a priority as others.

The problem with the Dts is that they aren’t as big of value here at the 1.4 as I’d like to get, and wouldn’t be as good as your normal 1.4 pick. They’d just be okay…

Who would you do?

I am a smashmouth team and I need better O Line. I am a 3-4 and I need a stud NT. I set aside the BAP of likely Hamilton and take… Sloan. I need a studly DT and he’s less of a gamble than the Hard to Read one.

2.8 – Is OG Erik Powell still on the board? If not I could grab OG Liam Wallace. What about LT Cole Hardy? Is he free? My preference is Hardy then Powell then Wallace. Hardy was taken 2.5 so I grab Powell.

3.7 – Is MLB Jay Hamilton free? Nope? . I grab P Heath Polley. Wanna see the stud?

Sure thing!

4.6 – LG Neal Schau? Okay!

5.5 - I grab FS Tyler Conway then. He’s a reach but a grower

6.4 – I need another WR…how about Richard Harding?

7.8 - QB Brant Bonilla? I need a better backup so I grab him.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.4 – NT Joel Sloan, Washington, 51/71
2.8 – OG Erik Powell, Temple, 35/65
3.7 – P Heath Polley, Pittsburgh, 72/88
4.6 – LG Neal Schau, Michigan State, 30/61
5.5 – FS Tyler Conway, Colorado, 27/45
6.4 – WR Richard Harding, Northwestern, 22/46
7.8 – QB Brant Bonilla, Florida State, 10/39

There you are!

FYI? I am SHOCKED that I've been so dedicated to text sims this year. This is my longest FOF dynasty by decades. Earlier this year I did my longest FM dynasty by a year over any others.

I hand out deactives and make my depth chart

I will start both rookie OGs. Poock has dropped to 55/55 so I won’t start him this year unless a rookie falls. I also start FS Conway and move Phelan to nickelback.

Week 2 – Augusta – We win 16-12

Week 3 – At Baltimore – We lose 16-38

Week 4 – Jacksonville – We lose 16—45

Week 5 – At Cincinnati – We win 17-6

We finish 2-2 and we scored 16 and 17 in every game.

Rookie Lookie #3

1.4 – NT Joel Sloan, Washington, 51/71; 61/75; 64/77
2.8 – OG Erik Powell, Temple, 35/65; 39/64; 42/73
3.7 – P Heath Polley, Pittsburgh, 72/88; 78/88; 77/84
4.6 – LG Neal Schau, Michigan State, 30/61; 36/62; 39/66
5.5 – FS Tyler Conway, Colorado, 27/45; 33/47; 34/60
6.4 – WR Richard Harding, Northwestern, 22/46; 25/47; 25/48
7.8 – QB Brant Bonilla, Florida State, 10/39; 13/40; 14/42

Sloan grew as we thought. Hello Powell! You were good as a mid-60s OG but 73 is even better! Schau also grew as well, nice! Conway grew as expected as well. I thought Harding was a grower but… ah well, you don’t win them all, right? Ditto Bonilla.

Top 5 UFAs by Potential

CB Lawrence Linquist, 26/50; 30/50; 30/46
CB Lonnie Tuupo, 19/49; 31/46; 19/39
TE Keith Schiller, 18/46; 20/43; 20/35
RB Darnell Turner, 30/46; 32/46; 32/44
WR Clifton Nichols, 18/45; 21/43; 12/35

Feh. I was hoping Nichols would be a long term answer at WR I could have as my KR, but he fell.

I cut

RB Ricardo Spencer
TE Barry Sprinkle
WR Mackenzie Rodriguez
OG Brayden Hockman
WLB Claude Huntley
CB Jeremy East

Extensions?

I extend Burgess, England

For those with two years left I extend…

Springfield, 114 mill 4 years
Richardson, 56 mill, 4 years
Wagener, 166 mill, 5 years
Hampton, 186 mill, 5 years
Riley, 178 mill, 4 years
Anthony, 66 mill, 4 years

Rookies?

Here’s our very developed Sloan. Looks not bad. Not amazing with the pass rush, but he’s fine and dandy. Good at thinking and punching.

Here’s my 2nd pick at the 2.8 spot. Powell is in the 70s and quals as a stud, and as you can see, has a great pancake making machine. He’s not bad elsewhere either.

The Green Page? Just Sloan.

Rookie Investigation

QB – 77, 3 in 50s, Bonilla is the 7th best one.

RB – 1 60s, 3 50s

FB – 71, 2 60s, 1 50s. Very symmetrical

TE – 3 50s

WR – 2 60s, 4 50s, Harding is the 7th best WR in the draft

C – 75, 60, 59 that’s it

OG – 81 the one we were looking at with the 1.4 spot, Powell at 73 is 2nd best, Schau at 66 is 5th best. 3 60 and 5 50s

OT – 73, 2 60s, 2 50s

P – Polley was the best at 84 pot, but there was one at 80. Polley was also the best rookie by potential at any position.

DL – 1 80s that was still on the board when we picked at 1.4, 3 70s of which Sloan was the best, Crane was 3rd with 73 pot and we could have done either and wouldn’t have missed, 3 60s, 14 50s. Whoa.

LB – 3 80s, 2 70s, 1 50. Top heavy, We passed by the big ones as we had other needs and three of my four LB Corps are set and Burgess at 60/60 is fine at WILB for now.

DB – 80, 70, 10 60s, 11 50s. Wow that was deep. It was good we got a solid DB in this draft.

Good stuff rookies!

CB Paul Bowman

All Pro 2nd Team

SLB Les Hampton

That’s the first All Pro for my stud Hampton, Ramirez, and then lower players Cox and Bowman. Rose and Flanagan with not their first, and Flanagan is the first TE I’ve ever had two with two All Pros! He had two in TWO YEARS. Nasty!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Curtis – 370 of 614, 4115 yards, 24:9, 87.1 rating

I can’t recall getting 4.1k yards before. Curtis was 2nd in yards in the league and 4th in scores. Not bad lad!

Rushing

RB Lincoln – 316 for 1027, 3.25 ypc, 4 TDs.

That was a worse year as a sophomore as Lincoln was last year as a rookie! Wow.

Receiving

Springfield had a great year and was 4th in receiving yards and 2nd in scores, surprised not to see him with an All Pro 2nd team. Flanagan was 2nd in yards and 1st in scores for TEs. Nice stuff! Duncan was fine and Rose got me 444 yards and 2 scores and remains a nice weapon.

Blocking

Our blocking was better but still not good. Rookie Powell was 2nd on the team in KRB with just 21 and 2 sacks allowed which is pretty good. Schau needs to do better!

Special Teams

K Ramirez – 42 of 48, Long of 58, 31 of 34 PAT

Great year by Ramirez, but he still missed 9 FGS and PATs, and I’ve had better not get All Pro. Good stuff getting the award though!

P Polley – 106 punts, 49.0 avg, 38 in 20

How did Polley not get the award? He led in p average and had more than 100 punts to get him there?

CB Blume, 1 PR RET TD that won us a game

16 special teams tackles for Dusty Hedges that led the team.

Defensive

Wagener led my team in tackles again and grabbed me a solid 5 sacks, his most. Cox led my team with a nasty 13.5 sacks and that’s…the league leader with a half a sack in front. Good job Cox! Dusty Hedges with a solid 7.5 sacks at WLB was 2nd and my team did well elsewhere. Polk was just 6.5, which I need better from given how much I am paying him. In his debut year, NT Joel Sloan was with 5.5 sacks, which isn’t bad for a rookie, but we’ll need that number to rise.

Pass Coverage

Placeholder Bowman led my team with 5 picks this year and won an All Pro! Good job! Phelan did well at nickel with 3 picks and 12 pasdef. Hampton grabbed me 3 picks as well as 16 pasdef, and Riley needs to do better. He hasn’t played like the stud he is. Good stuff folks!

Off. Player of the Year – QB Efrain Curtis – 2nd in yards and 4th in scores? Good stuff Curtis!

Def. Player of the Year – DE Diego Cox – If you had told me when we drafted him that 4.1 59/59 DE would wind up getting the most sacks in a season…would I have believed you? Nope! Good stuff Cox!

Special Teams Player of the Year – K Britt Ramirez – Dude won All Pro and was game MVP 2x. Good stuff Kicker!

Rookie of the Year – P Heath Polley – Led the league in punting avg? Awesome stuff rookie!

Heart Award – FB Lester Rose – Dude is a starter and these normally go to subs and backups, but this is a 13 year vet, 33 years, old, WVU BABY player, 48/48 rated, who just got his NINTH All Pro! How can I give this to anyone else? If any FB makes it to the HOF, would a guy with nine All Pros be one?

The 2079 NFL FA Period #1

We pick 1.28. I interview folks. There is an As Scouted FB stud in the draft but I don’t know if I have the ability to draft it over other needs on my roster.

I sign my RFAs save for 4 in the 30s. I have 46 on my roster , Phelan and Poock UFAs, and we have 68 mill for a new player.

Players needing Extensions

QB Curtis – I extend him right now. I lose 42 mill on my cap hit this year.
WILB Fowler – no extension coming
CB Bowman – I’ll hold off until post draft

Any FAs I want to chase?

I make an offer for WR Manual Robinson, 40 mill, 3 years

I want to make an offer for WR Skudris, but I don’t have the cash…

Well, I could cut… Polk, 8th year vet, 54/54 value…but I don’t have anyone on my roster…

I do so. I cut Polk.

I offer 20 mill 1 year for Skudris.

LT Louis Hitchcock, 8 mill, 2 years

Week 2 – Robinson signs!

Week 6 – Skudris signs!

Week 8 – Polk signs with Green Bay

Week 9 – Hitchcock signs with us!

See you at the draft!

The 2079 NFL Amateur Draft

Drafting 1.1 is… LA Chargers and my guess is that they will take Qb Aidan Blades and they grab…DT Josue Garcia. Blades goes… 2nd to DC who traded up. We may be facing a nasty guy…

The 1.28 pick arrives!

Who do I like here?

MLB Larry Wolfe – Okay bars for here, As Scouted, could be my new Burgess
DE Francisco Dennis – Top DE on the board, Hard to Read…do I want him to be my new Polk? His bars are okay.
OT Gino Driver – Bars are fine, Hard to Read
Fb Dan Engelberger – As Scouted

Let’s look!

Let’s start with the stud FB Engelberger. Great blocking, great running save for blitz pickup, and solid catching. As scouted, and most talented player on the board.

Driver is good at run block, great at pass, poor at the pancakes, and fine at endurance. He’s fine for 1.28 as he’d be okay. But….Hard to Read? Nope!

Here’s the top DE on the board and could be my new Polk. Not great at the bars just okay at everything save thinking, and Hard to Read as well makes Dennis a double gamble

Here’s the Wolfe. My current WILB is Burgess at 60/60 and Wolfe would be a big improvement with his sexy pass rushing fun times and pretty developed and As Scouted.

So…who would you do?
