I would try this
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/...-1-5-162.shtml but be advised, this is shareware, and you never 100% know what you're getting there

If it does, I can't figure out how to get it to work...I have tried drag and dropping the real downloads in there, didn't work. I synced it through real audio, and not only did that not work, but it did something to my existing songs, they are still listed, but I can't play them. Only going to sync through itunes from now on, but I need to get these songs over there...

No kidding. I try to stay away from any real audio or video if I can, for the above mentioned reason.

I don't have an iPod, so I can't help, but I'm shocked that there hasn't been more of a rush to help a real live girl on this forum. I'm disappointed in all of you guys.

oh, I get it.
well then, in that case, I think you should definitely slip into something more comfortable and start posting some pictures of your perdicament on a message board board about football...(is that better, Pumpy?)

the rights management of the file is going to be the issue here, I guess. I'm pretty clueless about Real. With the player, do you have the ability to burn a CD? Because that's probably the only way you're going to get it to work - burn a CD of the songs, and then rip them back to the computer in MP3 format. You'll lose a bit of quality, but since you're a girl, it's probably crappy music anyway, so don't worry about that part...

Wow, thanks Draft Dodger - you're my hero!

As for the repeated requests for pictures, I don't think my fiancee, radii, would appreciate that. But if it turns you on, I am in white capri's and a hot pink polo shirt...

This might help. It's a Beta version though.

http://www.real.com/beta/harmony.html

I haven't really looked into it, but I think I read somewhere its ability to convert from real format to AAC.

That is what I downloaded...only went to real.com b/c of the 49 cents deal...gave me a chance to indulge my music downloading obsession without radii glaring at me when he looks at the bank account online. My cd burner is on the laptop, which radii is currently using to play that new political game you guys made him buy...so tomorrow I'll try burning the songs to cd and then importing them to itunes. Hopefully that will work.

Duh, of course it doesn't. iPods only play AAC format, which you can only get from iTunes. If you hadn't realized, Apple likes to bundle their things together. The only way to get Real files to AAC would be to try to burn it on a CD and then take those tracks and try to turn them in AAC files. I don't know if it'll work, but that's the only thing I can think of.

He has something against people seeing you? Does he cart you around in an opaque Samsonite product of some sort when you go out on dates?

That's odd. According to Real, it gives support to IPods. Did you install the device from here:
http://music.guide.real.com/realplayerdevices

I got this screen from trying to add an external device from RealPlayer.
Try it out and see if this helps.

Incorrect.

Harmony, Real's new converter, converts Real Format-W/DRM, to Apple's Fairplay (W/DRM), thus making it allowable to put on an IPOD. They did this without Apple's permission (real had asked for permission to license FairPlay, Apple refused, and Real did it anyway), torquing Apple off something fierce, and I wouldn't be too sure that a future update of the Ipod wouldn't break that support, ACCIDENTALLY, of course ;D

What he said.

That would suck if they only played AACs. I had about 15 GB of music that I origionally coverted before I bought my IPOD, with musicmatch. I would suck to have to rip all those CDs again.

About the real tunes for .49. It must be some great music to go through all this trouble to save 51 cents.

That's the problem with cheaper mp3 downloads, there is always a catch. It's like buying a can of Jolly Good cola. Sure, it kinda looks like coke, and tastes kinda like a coke, but when the day is done, you paid half as much for a can of Wisconsin river water flavored like coke.
