New Orleans under new management
The long suffering New Orleans franchise hired a new GM today: Fairly.
I come to FOOL by way of Dog Days where I have managed the St. Bernard Swampdogs for 6 seasons (15 months of real time). St. Bernard is a parish that is part of the New Orleans metropolitan area, so I'll have no problem commuting between the two. No franchise has a lower 'winning' percentage than this one, so the team needs a renaissance. Hence, Rens which is short for renaissance. The last owner had that idea, but what he ended up failing to provide were wins. So, to remind everyone of the need for a winning renaissance, I'd like to make the new name: New Orleans Wrens. I like the capital W and I'll keep the same logo for now. I had to release a bunch of players right away, including 4 members of my starting rotation. They all wanted to go to free agency. Is that typical? Guys with 2 or more years won't talk because they are not in their last contract year. So, I suppose it's a good strategic move not to have everybody come due at once. This could get worse before it gets better. |

Welcome! You have a tough road ahead of you, but as this year's classic shows, it can be done. Two teams that were taken from the dumps to division banners in just a few years faced off. Mine wasn't quite good enough, but I'm still proud of 'em!
If you're looking to trade any folks off, post away on the trading block. Now is the ideal time to come in to make personnel maneuvers!
