Well, I got a kicker, a tackle, and a pair of mentors. Woohoo?

Heh, and I signed the kicker because Philly ran out of cap room.
No out-and-our rejections, so I'm still in the game on all of my targets. Time to see how many I can still compete on.

Illegal contract on RB Jimmie Shields. Signed by Tennessee to a 2 yr contract and Shields is in his 2nd year. If others spot guys like this, probably best to note them here.
Edit to add: Looks like Tennessee made the same mistake on center Mack Langdon, another guy in his 2nd year that only received a 2 yr contract. Last edited by MalcPow : 11-03-2008 at 12:19 PM. |

Grrr, far and away the best offer on QB Edward Drummond, and he wants to think about it? This'll be a frustrating stage to review...

I can run a script later this afternoon and void these. If there are a lot, I'll release a new file and push back tomorrow's deadline.

Bah. There is no reason I should not have a nearly full roster and be out of cap room. Stupid guys not taking offers that are far and away the best ones they received by an order of magnitude...

Phew. That went a lot better than planned. No big losses, few nice guys at decent prices.

Did a quick spot check and only saw one other illegal signing.
Minnesota: Rookie WLB Jason Lake signed to a 1 yr deal. Minny and Tenn, can you guys check and change any other offers you have outstanding ahead of the next sim? Gracias. |

Baltimore is shaping up as an interesting offense. Deep major talent at RB, and basically nothing much in the passing game. Hey, that's like the real Ravens most years!

I don't think I offered these contracts. I hadn't been able to get a new file in after the original file had the issues it had, so I think all these signings I have are guys I didn't offer. Can i have all my contracts voided and just go from scratch for stage 2?
The only one I would keep would be the QB Hall, who i had made an offer to as i was redoing my export. I was about 90% done, but i had to go to work last night and couldn't finish before that. I think a lot of these deals got assigned to the wrong players after the new file was put out.

Also: I was offering Hall 7.5 mil a year over 7 years in my new export. So if I was to keep him, if his contract could be redone to match that, I would think that would be fair, considering I got him for 1 million per.
The deal was structured as follows: Bonus: 31.5 million 3 million per year. This is up to you, commish, but I don't think we should re run a stage. I wasn't able to get my file in, no biggie.

Not bad, 14 guys signed and only 3 rejected offers (although 2 of them were to good WRs that I had hoped to get)
It will be interesting to see the offers I still got out there and what nuts deals other people put out for them Wow, and seeing what Leaskey signed for, I am okay at getting outbid with that.

I do believe I read one of our rules wrong. I thought the total salary we could offer a guy in one year was 25million including bonus.

Nothing against PHI, but they're essentially out of cap, as has been pointed out. I'm competing against PHI for 3 players. PHI has offered contracts totaling $35.5 million for those 3 players. Am I correct in saying that those PHI offers will be voided?
BTW, PHI, I like your strategy. Bold. |

Nothing too exciting for us, still some work to do. We've got our spectaculalrly mediocre DT rotation set though.

Well the game will reject them itself when the player makes a decision. The player will then sign the next best offer. Suicane could go in and withdraw those offers, but it doesn't really matter at this point. |

I got my QB and I think I landed a top rookie RB and young CB. That's it though... .
I lowballed a lot of the players I wanted but all my other offers were right in the ballpark. The next few bidding stages (maybe just the next stage) are going to be crazy and I imagine we'll have some pretty unbalanced rosters by the end of FA2. |

It isn't a big deal really. The only guy I wanted to offer a max deal to was a QB who is still available so I was able to adjust the offer no problem.
I was shocked to see as many 1 year deals signed/offered as I did. |

Seven signings and we're right in the middle...surprised we signed so few, but I guess we're right where I thought we'd be relative to the rest of the league.

Rather pleased, by the by, that I have the beginnings of a halfway decent o-line, at a reasonable price.

Dallas, looks like you've got an illegal offer pending on FS Cary Winslett. Try to change that to include a 3rd year in your export for this stage.
New York, you've got an illegal one year offer pending on G Donnie Martinez. (Not picking on anybody with this stuff, I'm shocked I didn't eff up a few myself. Just trying to note things as I'm seeing them.) Last edited by MalcPow : 11-03-2008 at 03:15 PM. |

Tennessee had a couple bad pending offers that I saw, though I can't remember names now.

I have contacted Tennessee. They have several illegal pending offers.

Anyway, I brought in 6 players at Detroit, two of them at QB. 12th year man Corwin Rubin is the starter now, and rookie Joel Herndon will hopefully be waiting in the wings when he retires.
