Welcome to 2032!!

In my hurry to get done and get to bed, I just lumped all the files into this export. You'll hafta look at your schedule to see what went down in the playoffs. Don't worry, you didn't win

DataFileHost - FOWL2010_2032_BeginSeason.zip

In the future I'll be posting the superbowl file separately as normal.

And just to note: I'm not terribly pissed, I probably wouldn't have changed anything. Its just a couple of things. First, I thought there was an understanding that a sim wouldn't run until all of us few owners either said we weren't exporting, or you had everyone's export. Second, I never know when these things run. I've been on the go all day today, and the first chance I had to sit down I used to catch up on Lost. I came here right after and grabbed the file to do, and saw the EOS stuff posted. Last year the playoffs ran at around 2am CST.

Again, I'm not really pissed more than I am puzzled.

I think we need to get some structure or consistency going. I can definitely see where Tasan is coming from.

I'm not judging how you run this league Meat and I can't imagine really being able to spare the time myself.

I agree, I am not a big fan of the fly by the seat of your pants approach. More consistency would be nice.

I thought I had been pretty clear but obviously not, my bad.

Scheduled sims will run monday through friday whether I have exports or not. This has always been the way FOWL has run I haven't changed that. The waiting until I got all the exports was just on the weekends because I understand no one wants to be forced to export on weekends. For yesterday's sim I only got one export so I assumed that was the only person who was sending one.

The sims had been running around 1am my time (mountain standard) so effectively the first sim of the week ran 1am monday morning (or late sunday night since it was before my bedtime). I mentioned a couple times that I started a new job and work early so I moved the sims ahead by about 16 hours, the first sim running monday evening. So these sims aren't running early, they're running much later than ever. I haven't been flying by the seat of anyone's pants.

I appreciate the feedback, I had been unclear about our schedule and people like deadlines, so here's the new schedule:

Deadline for exports is 10 p.m. EASTERN time (I'm guessing that's the easiest point of reference) Monday through Friday. I can't promise that I will sim right at that time but I will sim as close to it as possible, and never before then. I won't be simming anything on the weekends, it was great of everyone to pitch in during the first couple seasons to get the ball rolling but I think we're good now.

And yes, please announce summer league and franchise tags so we can skip that stage.

Also consider again the possiblity of skipping staff hiring altogether (I could turn AI on for that stage so we get decent, albeit random coaches) so we can have the fun days more frequently

Thank you Meat for clearing that up with the schedule. Update your schedule post and sticky it

I myself think that staff play a big part in player development and how they play on the field also. I've seen average teams with great coaches do really well - someone people in other leagues have confirmed that this may be true. However I cannot be 100% sure as this game can be pretty random sometimes.

Up to you guys but I would prefer to keep the staff hiring stage. If no one else wants it I can get my export for that stage in really quickly so you can sim past it and post the new file.

Thanks Meat for the clarification.

I like to hire my own coaches and would like the opportunity to do so. If not, I will get over it.

Well, I think that settles it, two people wanting to have a day for staff hiring is enough for me. One owner that really really wanted it would have been enough. So we'll keep it, but C4 mentioned perhaps having a quick-sim or some opportunity for people to get the sim in without having a whole day for it. Intriguing idea, anyone have a good way to accomplish this? I don't mind simming twice in a day if we can figure a good way to do it. It's an idea.

P.S.-I also like giving people the change to renovate or move.
