Although I am old enough to remember Eight is Enough fairly well, he will always be King Roland to me. RIP.

I have a colleague that wrote a book on Eddie Cantor and talked to Van Patten. He said he was as nice and genuine as anyone he's spoken too. DVP hooked him up for an interview with Mel Brooks just because he thought Mel's stories about Cantor would be helpful.
