Time Lapse is a pretty entertaining sci-fi type thing about a group of roommates who find a camera that can take pictures of the future and try to use it to make money. Reminded me a little of Shallow Grave.

I'll tell you what I'm not watching on Netflix: Season 4 of Person of Interest. It was supposed to debut September 22 but it's apparently having "technical issues" which are preventing them from posting it. There is no word on when this delay will be resolved.

I liked the series but at times I felt like it was wayyyyyyy too much Voiceover. The acting was great. I'm not sure if I agree with their decision to burn up 9-12 years of Escobar material in one season, however.

I liked the whole documentary + procedural + drug kingpin angle the show had going on. Still really, really impressed with Wagner Moura.

I agree with the last part. Are they only going to do 2-3 seasons? So much material at their disposal and they went through it pretty quick.

I know it's been a bit of a divisive series here, but I finally finished the first season of Sense8.

I thought it was fantastic. I loved it. It got better as the season went on and there a couple of scenes in the last few episodes where I literally jumped up off my couch and pumped my fist.

Out of the eight main characters and their respective side-kicks and periphery characters, I really only found one (and her side-kick) annoying. That's impressive.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is solidly funny. I'd endorse it more if a few characters weren't horrible. The Stepdad for instance

I may have posted this before, but when you get done with Narcos, watch Pablo Escobar: The Lord of Evil.
It is produced by a columbian company. It's production value isn't great. But it tells the story from all sides in Columbia. Medellin cartel, the government, the national police, the newspaper. It is really good.
It is also 74 episodes long. But I can't get enough.

On the subject of Narcos, I have to give it to Pedro Pascal - he puts on a pretty darn good American accent for my ears. Really solid in this series (as with Game of Thrones), and probably my favorite character.

Been watching Bloodlines. I struggle with shows that jump from point to point out of sequence. I'm enjoying it though, but it's not as good as The Affair (a very similar show)

Also burned through season 3 of OITNB the other week. I guess I enjoy it but sometimes they lose focus. Too much Crazy Eyes for example. She's just super frustrating to watch and there's zero reward. Also either integrate Sophia into the main cast or just cut her. Seems like she only appears when they wanna do an "issue of the week" type episode.

I just finished this a week or so ago. I thought Season 3 was the strongest season of the show to date. Loved it.

Watched Master of None, Aziz Ansari's Netflix show. Really enjoyed it despite the horrible acting (and I'll give the couple playing his parents a pass because they actually were his parents). The 2nd episode was especially hilarious. Then it got all real and serious in the last two episodes. Really good show.

Wow, seriously? That's crazy. I LOVED his parents on the show. The "Parents" episode is just great. I've watched the first 3 episodes so far. Obviously he has lived life, to be able to write these stories.

I binge watched 6 eps of Master of None yesterday on Veteran's Day. This is a great show! I liked his parents on the show as well (I mean they were basically playing themselves and did fine). Well done Netflix.

I thought last season was bad. No real major storyline and nothing else really made me interested. Just seems like the writers ran out of ideas and decided a bunch of zany scenes with the characters was enough to appease viewers.

Kind of funny but it's made by the same person behind Weeds which also saw a huge dropoff after Season 2. Maybe she should just be given shows with 25 episodes total which would be great.

Is it all in spanish? I don't mind some subtitles but not sure I want to go 74 hours into a show of them.

Narcos was great. The best show Netflix has done to date.

YMMV, I thought Season 3 was better than Season 2. I'm glad they didn't go with "major storyline" and decided to deal more with slice of life stuff instead. The Vee story went off the rails pretty easily, IMO.

Read if you saw season 3.

Maybe they are trying to emulate the feel of the show? You start watching S04E03 and BAM! it takes you to the pilot.

I'm watching Master of None. I can't figure it out. I am enjoying it. But it's like a comedy with a social conscience. Sometimes laying heavily on the social conscience side.

Pablo Escobar: Lord of Evil is in spanish. All subtitles. I watch it on my computer, so its not bad.
The opening shows the statement, Im paraphrasing, Those who dont know history are bound to repeat it.
So it is telling Columbians, you need to know the story or we will go through the terror again.

But it is way more in depth then Narcos.

Last week I watched the first episode of "The 100"....today I watched the last episode of season 2. It pulls you in slowly...but surely. Good show!

The 100 (TV series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Quote:
The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known survivors lived on 12 space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named "The Ark", where about 2,400 people live under the leadership of Chancellor Jaha. Resources are scarce, so all crimes – regardless of their nature or severity – are punishable by ejection into space ("floating") unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age. After the Ark's life-support systems are found to be critically failing, 100 juvenile prisoners are declared "expendable" and sent to the surface – nearby former Washington, D.C. – in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again, in a program called "The 100", for which the show is named.

Gotta wait for July for season 3.

Yeah, the casting was well done in every role, I feel. But Sewell definitely stood out. The end of the season really makes me excited to see what directions they'll go in a Season 2.

Though, of course, it's on Amazon Prime... not Netflix .

There's a really neat British show on Netflix now (first season at least) called Detectorists. It's kind of a low-key comedy about a pair of metal-detecting buddies and their friends and loved ones. Only 6 half-hour episodes so not much time invested. It stars and is written and directed by MacKenzie Crook, and is really well put together.

Plus this amazing theme song!

Beasts of No Nation was really good. Strong performances from Idris Elba and the child actor Abraham Attah, and visually the film was reminiscent of Apocalypse Now.
