It's also interesting that this does appear to be a role for DT and seems one very unlikely that a wolf would have. I think we should leave DT alone, especially for today.

I think it's a decent sized role and there are certainly those out there with no role whatsoever like me.

Go On Mission

I'm around, and can move if need be, but this mission, plus not having a work role in my specialty dictates this move for me.

And in other news, yesterday sucked ass.

I'm really thinking I (maybe all of us) need to re-think how we're approaching this game. I just can't believe that Abe would create a game in which the wolves can convert like mad, block our camp wins with arrests, night kill our roled players and we don't even get to vote every day. That just doesn't seem plausible.

My guess is, in the ilk of Hoops' comic game, that they have some finite amount of $. It likely replenishes at a small amount each day, but we're seeing them going heavy on it's use early in an effort to control the game from the outset (which is wise wolf strategy)

As such, for the time being, I'm going to basically ignore conversion talk. Yes, I do think we've likely had one (maybe two, MAX) but I don't think it should be the distraction of the day.

My vote will come from the group of definitely uncleared folks

DT - When you're around. Question.

I see where you acknowledge that BK passed you more dynamite and that you lied intentionally about having it. Ok, that's all well and good, but why then would you not use it when it would've given us another seer scan?

jeheinz, my feeling is that we just have to play this as a straight WW game, that has conversion, just as we knew in the office space game that there was a conversion. I feel like there is just way way way too much we don't understand to try and approach the camp stuff with any level of sophistication.

I think that's the main reason we have struggled. We really have no idea of the mechanics and are just guessing as we go.

i addressed this - we had conversation (from about 9:30-12:52) last night in the thread about whether we thought it was likely the wolves could arrest+night kill on the same night, and the consensus of people here was that it was unlikely. i bought into that, and my thinking was "great...tonight they can't kill norm cuz they arrested during the day, so i can save my dynamite and use it tomorrow night and buy norm 2 days instead of just one." now obviously we/I were wrong about that, but that was the line of thinking.

Are we really struggling?

We've killed two wolves.

We've got a solid and semi solid circles of trust.

Viewed from a traditional WW standpoint, we're not struggling. It's just all this camp stuff we're struggling with.

I couldn't agree more.

I mean I think trying to win camps in our spare time is great, but really, we need to win missions if anything and vote out wolves.

If we vote out wolves, we'll win too.

Can't quite go that far as if we lose to many camps we auto lose the game.

Agreed. I guess more what I'm saying is, we should stop worry about so over-covering camps since well, we lose anyhow. If they're going to arrest us, they're going to arrest us. Let's not forsake missions (not that anyone is advocating that) just to be uber-covered and still blow the camp.

That's almost the key to my point. I mean Abe's no dummy. He's not going to make a game that is seemingly unwinnable for the village. And if they can do all that stuff PLUS we don't even necessarily get to lynch a wolf, then this game would've been unwinnable.

Exactly. It's like we pitch a shutout for 8 innings and have a 1-0 lead only to find out the other team gets 9 outs in the 9th inning.

We should just do our work, win the missions (which seemingly are bigger boosts to our ability to win camps anyhow) and if there's a vote, vote smart.

Frankly, for a WW game, our lynch record is really damn good so far. We've ousted 3 players and 2 of them have been wolves. If we've been that good and missed really only on one camp we could've hit and are at a wolf-endgame then (no offense Abe) this game wasn't meant to be for the village.

I think we need to slow our roll a bit about the panic and just play/vote smart.

My hunch is, that right now, the wolves biggest dilemma is their numbers. We've still got 13 people left in this game and with 2 wolves lynched there couldn't be more than 3 of them remaining. MAX and I'd have a hard time thinking there are 3.

I'd argue that NTN and I have gained a bit of trust - him by passing the dynamite, and me by making things go boom.

If you are elevating Glan for no other reason then you don't think a wolf would have been as inactive a Schmidty then I think you are making a mistake.

If it was anyone other then Schmidty I could buy it, but he has a history of missing days so I'm not willing to make that concession.

I'm wondering about the "can't be bribed" group. How can we use that knowledge to help us? There has to be more than one person with a no bribe amount in their profile. If those people are not already cleared that would give them a benefit in my eyes. but how to prove such a thing?

The only problem with that is that the wolves would then know who not to target for a conversion, either. I'd just as soon have them try to convert the unconvertible, or think twice about even using a conversion attempt. If they know who can be bought, even without knowing the price, they may be more apt to take the chance.

Quoted for truth.

Though I seem to vaguely recall it being something else. Danny?

No offense, but I'm not trusting you for making things go Boom. Not saying I'm looking your way today, but that's not a clearing action. Once NTN passed you the dynomite you basically had to use it at some point.

For me it's not missing days, but he seemed to feel really bad and then left the game to get a replacement. That's overall unlikely as a wolf I think. Still, I only said he should be slightly elevated above others like me.

Ditto.

Heck, I'd argue that one would feel even guiltier if they WERE a wolf.

But yeah, Glen wasn't really on my docket today anyhow.
