I never knew what happened to Sean Salisbury. I never really liked him much, just wondered what happened to him.

Yeah, on the one hand he's got a point about the kind of double standard that goes on in the athlete/analyst world (didn't Michael Irvin get caught with a crack pipe around the same time?), on the other hand any excuse to reduce the number of 'analysts' on my TV is a good one. How the hell does Jamie Dukes keep rising up the ranks on the NFL Network? Every show has so many jackass commentators now that they'll start with one table of 4-5 guys, and eventually they'll pass it over to a different table of guys. Fuck that shit already.

I was amazed to find out that Grit Magazine is still in active print. Trying to sell subscriptions to get that hovercraft made me realize that a job in sales wasn't going to be my lot in life.

This is the best thing I've read on the entire thing. It's trying to pander for donations to Invisible Children.

Also last year Limbaugh supported Kony and LRA and said that when Obama was sending troops into the area that they were going to "Wipe out" Christianity.

Ya, "analysts" are a dime a dozen and there's many who will do your job just as well, probably for less money. Two ways to at least improve your job security are: (1) be a former superstar athlete and (2) don't take photos of your penis and show them to girls at bars. Salisbury was 0 for 2 there. And it's naive and silly to think everyone should be treated equally regardless of fame. It's an entertainment company, fame is very important.

I met him once in San Diego at a sports bar. Saw him walk in and waved him over to our table. We offered to buy him a beer, but, he politely declined our offer. However, he sat down with us for about 20 minutes and talked football with us. Was a pretty cool dude.

Was this back in 2006, and was a cell phone camera involved?

Posting on a web development forum mostly helping out people. One newer poster I think has near zero ability to learn. He's as clueless as they come and even after showing specific pieces of code to fix, it remains. There have been 13-14 year olds who have come onto the site, hung around for 3 or so months, and start to put together functional sites together. One I remember started taking on freelance work for building sites. I'm not saying the sites were all that good, but valid code and functional at least. This guy? It feels like I'm going in a circle. I might have to honestly look up his original code from what was posted and see if anything was changed via recommendations or just stuff he changed to further develop the site how he wanted it to be.

I'm sure he'll figure it out at some point. He's a low income person who wants to find some way to earn some money, but he's going to be a tough sell based on what he designs. The only advantage he has is he's from a foreign country and I'm always amazed at what people post for what others build, or have built for them. It's kind of like stripping an old Geocities page down to the basics without the animated gifs. All you are left with is basically text tossed onto a page and no sense of a color palette. It's kind of like going to a homeless shelter to find nice clothes for a date.

A guy I went to high school with was on Grimm last night. It's odd, you hear all of these stories about people getting into acting and nothing ever comes of it and yet somehow he actually made it. He's done other stuff like be in the Dukes of Hazard movie.

I just hit a sudden realization. The thesis goes something like this "In the triangulation of Barney Stinson, Marshall Eriksen, and Ted Mosby, the show How I Met Your Mother presents the full range of the 21st century masculine experience, drawing upon prior archetypes as the building blocks to create character arrangements unique to contemporary post-nuclear society." Spoiler: Part of Barney's character make-up and antecedent is Sherlock Holmes. I am so going to use this idea in the Comp classes I'm teaching as part of how to write their research papers. It's going to be legen... wait for it... dary. Legendary!

Wayne Brady is doing Lets Make a Deal followed by Drew Carey and The Price is Right. Is Ryan Stiles doing Pyramid after that? Colin Mochrie on The People's Court? Linda Hall and Name that Tune?

They have the 4,583rd iteration of Whose Line Is It Anyway? called Drew Carey's Improv-a-ganza on the Game Show Network.

Mr. Ed had it good. Right now is a bad time to be a TV horse.

Punching a horse in the head gets a contestant removed from a show in a reality TV first + reality blurred

Maybe this is only funny to me....

So I'm sitting in my office trying to type an email and I see out of the corner of my eye, someone walking by my office. Out of habit, I look up. When I look up, I make eye contact with George. Not to be rude, I said "Good morning". After all, we did make eye contact and that would just be weird and rude to not say anything. Anyway, he keeps walking by my office and then I hear a faint, "hi".

It was just funny because I think he wasn't expecting me to say anything and as he passed my office, he was probably saying to himself, "Dang it!! Now I've got to say hi".
