Fulham have signed Sorin Gheorghe from Celta for 21.5 million dollars. Sorin is a skilled 25 year old Romanian Left Winger. I wouldn't have paid that much for him due to a relatively slow footspeed.



The board is thrilled with my performance as manager.


Stewart Downing has won the EPL Player of the Month. Adriano came in 2nd, and Lebohang Mokoena of Liverpool came in 3rd.



Richard James of Arsenal won the EPL Young Player of the Month. The 18 year old striker had 3 goals for them this month. Victor of West Ham came in 2nd, and Chris Miller came in 3rd.


Liverpool's Pako Ayestaran has won the EPL Manager of the Month. Dave Jones of Middlesbrough came in 2nd, and Rafa Benitez of Chelsea came in 3rd.

My young forward, Mark Hall, had a goal for England's U21 team in their 3-0 win over Norway. Chris Miller provided solid defense in the match.


Tim Howard played well in the USA's 2-0 shutout over Costa Rica in the World Cup Qualifying Match. Newcomer, John Singleton had both goals for the USA. The 21 year old has 6 goals for San Jose this year and now 3 goals in 10 caps for the USA.

Freddy Adu didn't play due to injury.

Today I coach England against Norway at home in a World Cup Qualifying Match. We are currently 1st in our Qualifying Section Group Stage. Norway has some talented players including attacking midfielder/striker Daniel Fredheim Holm who is playing well for Nantes this year at the age of 32. Keeper Espen Johnsen is aging, but still playing well for Lazio. Midfielder Hans Martin Wehler is playing well for FC Koln and is really just hitting his stride. Those are the three biggest stars on the team, but they work well together and we would do well not to underestimate them.

Today we host Fulham in an EPL Match. Fulham is currently in 15th place. They are led by striker David who is a very good player. David has excellent jumping, balance, and agility and is a very good finisher. Michael Rensing has quietly become one of the best keepers in the World and I've been tempted to acquire him a few times. However, he is already 33. Wayne Dunn and Jiri Mach are an excellent pair of centrebacks. Davide Canini is playing well at right wing.

I realize that I never had my coaches prepare their report on the annual decline/improvement of my players over the past year. I was supposed to have them prepare it at the beginning of September. I tell them to prepare it by tomorrow morning.

First the good news:

10 best gainers:

1. Antonio Blanco - This 18 year old keeper has shown TREMENDOUS growth. He has improved his aerial ability, command of the box, comminuciation, and positioning to significant degrees. If he can continue to progress at this rate for 1 to 2 more years, he will surpass Adriano as the #1 keeper! He is showing more growth than Flores, my other acquisition at that time period. I expect Blanco to play with my reserve squad and be my backup keeper next year for the big squad.

2. 18 year old Phil Griffin, a right back, has improved the most in the past year. He still has a large degree of improvement needed to be worthy of playing on the big club. However, he is noted to be a very hard worker and he might make it one day.

3. Adam Simpson is an 18 year old midfielder who has shown vast amounts of improvement. He doesn't have great natural ability, but he is working very hard. It shows in his training.

4. Graham Lewis is a 16 year old keeper who has shown astonishing growth for one so young. He has become a very good keeper for his age. If he can continue to grow at anywhere near this rate, he should be ready to start for our big club in 3 o 4 years. However, my coaches note that he doesn't have good bravery in practice. In fact, he is downright afraid at times. That could hurt him..

5. James Webb - This 18 year old left winger probably will never make the big club, but he does have excellent speed and has shown significant growth in the past year.

6. Alan O'Brien - This 17 year old Irish Right Winger is showing improved speed, very nice growth in his decision making, and better passing. He might be able to contribute in a few years if he continues to grow.

7. Michael Higgins - This 19 year old keeper has shown astonishing improvements in his agility and balance to the point that he has become among the best in these areas. However, he is still technically deficient.

8. Carlos Godoy - Despite already being a very good player this midfielder has continued to show significant improvement. Most of his improvements have been mental as he is showing improved concentration, flair, technique, creativity, positioning, composure, and anticipation. He has truly become one of the best midfielders in the world.

9. Antonio Ortega - This 23 year old World Class right winger doesn't have much room for improvement, but my coaches believe he has become the top 3 in the world at crossing the ball. They think his first touch has improved to top notch levels. They feel his passing has become one of the best 3 in the world. His technique has become unstoppable, and his creativity and flair have become top notch. He has continued to have a fast pace. He has also improved his heading and long shooting ability.

10. Michael Oswald - He has improved his agility, balance, and most of his technical abilities. He is becoming a top flier striker/attacking midfielder.


Others of note: Alberto Flores has not shown much improvement in the last year, despite scoring a large number of goals. Our coaches feel his finishing is better, but his passing is regressing a bit. He is improving in most mental areas. His first touch is improving slightly as well. Overall, he needs to show more commitment to becoming a world class striker.



Now, the bad news. The 10 biggest losers (of skill):


1. Darren Fletcher's age has clearly caught up with him. He is losing most of his skills. He plans on retiring after this season which is a good thing.

2. Stewart Downing - He is losing his very good speed and is just average in that area. He is also losing his acceleration and agility. His crossing is not as crisp. His passing isn't as good. His first touch isn't as good. He is still a very good starter, but he is no longer a dominant left winger. He could become merely average by the end of the year according to my coaches. Next year, he will probably be a backup at best.

3. Alfonso - The 26 year old left winger appears to have just given up training hard, perhaps due to the lack of PT. He isn't as crisp in any of his technical skills.

4. Tim Howard - His age is clearly catching up with him and he isn't as agile or as good at leaping. His reflexes are also slowing down considerably. In fact, all of his keeping skills have deteriorated a bit.

5. Vincent Kompany - He is 31 and is just starting to decline, but if he goes down fast, he will be my worst acquisition ever arguably. He is still a very good and maybe even elite defender, but he is showing slight signs of deteriorating in all of his technical areas.

6. Chris Miller - Did I bring him up too early. Is this just a momentary blip? Regardless, my scouts feel that he has deteriorated in most of his technical abilities slightly.

7. Salva - He is only 25, but he is showing slight signs of decline in all areas.

8. Mark van den Boogaart - He is 32 and he is starting to show decline in all technical aspects of his game.

9. Bob Wright - The striker is showing slight declines in his game.

10. Wayne Rooney - He is showing just the slightest signs of slipping according to my coaches. Specifically, his passing ability is decreasing slightly as is his ability to take corners. They also feel his ability to accelerate has dropped slightly.

His top speed is still very good as is his acceleration.

Alfonso has told the media that there is no chance of him re-signing with us, and that he will leave as a Bosman after the year is over.

Our U18 team beat Sheff Wed's U18 team in the 2nd round of the U18 cup. Young midfielder, Andrew Harper had 2 goals for our team in the win.

Salva suffered a severe ankle sprain in practice and he will miss 4-5 weeks.

The board is "thrilled" with my performance as manager.

Carlos Godoy has won the EPL Player of the Month Award. Michael Heller came in 2nd, and Hatem Ben Arfa of Arsenal came in 3rd.

Birmingham City's Darren Fitzgerald has won the EPL Young Player of the Month. The 21 year old striker has 2 goals this month and has generally played well. Alan Keane of Sunderland came in 2nd, and Steffen Seitz of Middlesbrough came in 3rd.


Arsenal's Joop Hiele has won the EPL Manager of the Month. Frank Rijkaard of Sunderland came in 2nd, and I came in 3rd.

Wayne Rooney won the Goal of his month for his patented goal against Aston Villa on the 30th.

Today we host West Ham in an EPL Match. They are in 2nd place early in the season! This is a battle for 1st which we currently own. West Ham is doing it behind two dynamic scorers and with strong defense. Striker Robbin Kieft is off to a hot start with 7 goals in 7 starts. Right winger Aaron Lennon has 3 goals and 4 assists in 8 starts. They have 6 other players with 1 goal each. Paul Anderson is playing left back superbly. Warren Norman is having one of the best starts I've ever heard about from a keeper. He is averaging 9.00 for form so far! He is 26 and he is really hitting his stride as a keeper. I'll have to consider adding him to the National Team soon. Unfortunately, I've already named the national team for the upcoming 2 matches (which are immediately after this match.) In any case, Norman has 7 clean sheets in 8 starts. Can we crack the mystery?

The Wolves have fired Kunle Odetoyinbo. Thierry Henry is being named as the most likely replacement which would be rather interesting.


Manchester City almost immeditately hired Odetoyinbo the day after he was fired by the Wolves.

I'm working part time. I'm looking forward to playing FM2005 when I get home from work tonight, and finally updating this dynasty

I really want to see how Alberto Flores develops (along with a few of my other young guns) therefore, I plan on continuing this dynasty well past when FM2006 comes out. I might even try concurrent dynasties. However, if I do that, my FM2006 dynasty will probably be a different league (maybe the MLS) and will probably have a different style (maybe more of a weekly or month wrap-up) with no live in-game reporting as it happens like I've done in this dynasty.

Edit: Oh yeah, if history is any indicator, I will probably wait for a few enhancement packs to be out before I start a "serious dynasty" with FM2006.

Antonio Ortega was hurt in his World Cup Qualifying match. He will be out for about a week. Carlos Godoy also injured his leg and will miss a few days.


Dean Watkins came into my office today, and told me "Play me or move me."

The 21 year old left winger is becoming more skilled, but I decide that I will consider moving him despite the possibility that he will become a EPL starting quality left winger.

I reply, "I'll try to move you as soon as possible."

Today we play at home against Milan in a Champions League Group F Match. Milan is a very talented team with the star of the team this year being my former player, Cristiano Ronaldo. He is playing well at striker and midfield for them. Frank Wolf is having one of his best years at centreback. Jorg Walther is a world class centreback beside him. Francesco Bilardo has been playing well at striker for them this year. Cleiton is a 20 year old Brazilian phenom striker who is very quick, but it is unclear if he will play today. Andreas Isaakson remains a top notch keeper.

Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal great striker, has been announced as the new manager of Sheffield Weds. The club is expected to have a hard time avoiding relegation from the EPL, and it will be interesting to see if Henry can pull it off.


Adriano played well for Brazil but they were beat 1-0 by Paraguay in their World Cup Qualifying match. Matias Cahais played well for Argentina in their 1-1 tie with Colombia in the WC Qual. Match.

Salva has resumed full training following his injury.


Today we host Middlesbrough in an EPL Match. They are currently in 6th place. They are led by the talented keeper, Jan Lastuvka, who is playing well this year. My former player, Jamie Cook has been very solid for them and is their leading scorer, but he is out for this match with an injury. John Collins will be their main midfielder that I have to keep an eye on. Their strikers don't put fear into my team at all. Their defenders are led by Charlie Wilson who is playing very well this year.


It is very windy and raining today with temperatures in the 50's.

8 minute mark: Petit passes to Schreurs on the right wing.. Schreurs passes it to Downing just left of the box.. he passes it to Rooney in the box.. nice defensive play by Wilson.

15 minute mark: Their defenders deflect a flurry of shots before they can reach goal.

22 minute mark: Petit passes to Schreurs right of midpitch.. he passes it to King right of the box.. he centers for Rooney in the middle of the box.. he shoots.. great save by Lastuvka.

26 minute mark: Oswald gets a yellow card for yellowing at the ref on an offisde call.

27 minute mark: Miller steals the ball at midpitch.. passes it to Oswald.. Oswlad shoots from 30 yards out.. strong curving shot.. it is sailing wide right.. it curves.. into the upper right corner.. GOAL!!!! 1-0. That is Oswald's 1st of the year.

33 minute mark: Downing passes to Rooney in the box.. he shoots.. keeper blocks it.. King shoots.. Another great save by Lastuvka.

44 minute mark: Trotta with a long pass to Rooney left of the box.. he centers it for Heller.. he shoots from 17 yards out.. upper right corner.. just wide right.

54 minute mark: Downing steals the ball at midpitch.. passes it to Rooney left of the box.. he centers it for King.. excellet play by the defender to intercept the ball and clear it.

57 minute mark: Trotta steals the ball in our zone, passes it long to Downing.. Downing centers it to Rooney just left of the box.. he dribbles past a defender.. into the box.. shoots.. over the bar.

60 minute mark: Wright on for King and Salva on for Petit.

67 minute mark: Rooney gets a foot on a pass from the keeper to the defender, LeGall, Rooney's deflection rolls to Wright in the box.. he shoots.. upper right corner.. GOAL!!!! 2-0! Rooney made that goal for Wright!

77 minute mark: Heller intercepts the ball.. passes it to Downing left of the box.. crosses it to Schreurs right of the box.. he centers it to Wright.. Wright shoots.. upper left corner.. GOAL!!!! 3-0. Wright's second of the game.

Alan Watkins, my reserve player was selected to the League One team of the week while on loan.

Today we host Everton in the 3rd round of the English League Cup. Everton is currently 1st in the English Championship. One of their best players, midfielder Valery Mezague, is out with an injury. They will be relying on a fundamentally sound defense led by Aleksandar Djuric and Jimmy Murphy. Keeper, Ceiran Hutcheson has had some spectacular games, but has been inconsistent. Neil Gibson is their main scoring threat and the striker has 10 goals.


We are 1-3 favorites.

Doncaster pulled off a shocking 1-0 upset over Liverpool in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

We were given 52,000 dollars for winning that 3rd round match.

Today we travel to play Plymouth in an EPL Match. They are in 12th place while we are in 2nd place. They are led by keeer Mark Hunt who had a phenomenal year last year, but has been just decent in EPL Play this year. Their leading scorer is Paul Hamilton who has 2 goals in 13 starts. Mark O'Brien and Maxwell are leading their defense from both back positions.

We are 2-5 favorites.
