Twilight Struggle is a great implementation of the board game, worth it if you have someone to play against but not if you're looking to play against AI.

We'll have to play sometime. The AI is ridiculously easy for someone who has played a bit. But other than the AI (which I can't even imagine trying to get right) I agree, they did a terrific job with this game.

Anyone play Armello? That looks intriguing to me, but I am on the fence.

Very easy. The whole point is that you're going to learn by dying, so just go out and explore. Very well done, immersive world.

There are a few other issues, my friend was playing solo to brush up on the rules and won when the AI kept a scoring card. Though he did later lose to me when he performed a coup in a battleground area at DEFCON 3 with an event card that lowered DEFCON again to 1, so maybe it's just aiming for realistic play there.

Bought some games today.

Sunless Sea
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
Cities: Skylines
Sid Meiers Pirates

Pretty happy with what I got.

I should be good for awhile. Or until i find the next game I want.

I would love to play FM2016. But I just dont understand the whole euro football economics. Very confusing to me.

So I picked up:

CK2 for $9.99 plus selected DLC of a consensus top 10 available... I didn't get the "Collection" package, since it was missing 2 or 3 seemingly important DLC. And I didn't care for some of the other fluff that was thrown in.

Sunless Sea, based on what has been discussed here so far.

I had to return Cities: Skylines. Was real clunky and took forever to start. I guess to much for my old laptop.

I guess Sim City it is.

Any thoughts on Offworld Trading company for $20?

Also how different is Stardew Valley than say Rune Factory for the 3DS? Is it basically the same game? Or is Stardew Valley so much better?

I have not played those games. I like OTC, but it's a quick playthrough. Post-tutorial, you can play through a game in an hour or 90 minutes. The different groups you play as change your strategy considerably. It's very playable within that framework.

I found the old sega version of Pirates. Spent $50 on it. If it had the map it would have been $100.

I wonder if they realize how popular these games are.

Stardew Valley is pretty great. I don't know Rune Factory, but I played the hell out of Stardew Valley when I first got it. Put it down after about 60-ish hours and haven't picked it back up, but definitely got my money's worth.

Agreed on Stardew Valley. Almost the same amount of hours too before I put it down. It hooked me like unlike any other game has in a bit. I think once you get to the hours we put in you start to have a lot of money and you run out of stuff to do a little bit. That said, the creator is great about adding stuff and supposedly will be adding a lot of late game content and other fixes. I highly recommend it.

Chaos Reborn's been pretty solid thus far. It's a remake of a 1985 game by Julian Gollop, the same guy who later did XCOM. I have not been disappointed with his remake of his 80s game thus far. At all. Like really not disappointed.

I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I was a bit disappointed they added Law mode, but I do not have to play it that way. Heck, I haven't even dipped into MP yet. I had to pick up another copy for my 11 year old because he wants to play some MP as well, so it has been a hit in our house.

Im actually a little surprsied at the lack of press it's gotten, considering who made it, and that it was a successful kickstarter that brought in more than 200k, and it's a good game that's heavily reduced in price for this Steam sale

Picked up Grim Dawn after sitting on the fence the last 3 days and glad I did. I am not usually a fan of these types of hack & slash games, but having all kinds of fun with this one.

I just picked up Metamorphapbet, ,which is fine since I loved Windosill, and then The Stanley Parable, Hand of Fate, and Klei's Mark of the Ninja. I missed some of Klei's older games, after coming in from Don't Starve, and I;ve enjoyed all of their stuff thus far. Anyways, I have Meta first, and then Stanley, since i should be able to play both pretty quickly today.

So and I grabbed Life is Strange and played it through yesterday as well.

Lots of video gaming this summer sale for me!

Maybe Because I am bored... my favorite games in my Steam library from A to Z ("The" will be ignored if the first word in a title)... I also added a # entry.

# - 80 Days; great fun
A - Asolute Drift; fun little game to play
B - Blood Bowl: Lengendary Edition; haven't played in a while but liked it better than Blood Bowl 2
C - CS:GO; Cities: Skylines is a close second but this tends to be my go to time waster
D - Defense Grid: The Awakening; just a great game and this was a tough letter with Dungeon Siege, Dragon Age and Don Bradman Cricket to compete with
E - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim; eith EHM and Euro Trick Sim 2 getting considerations
F - FOF7; this is the group of death with several FM versions, Fallout 4, FTL and Frozen Cortex to choose from
G - GTA V; Gal Civ 2 and GRID make me think about this one but GTA V is just a wonderfule game
H - Half Life 2; have to go "old school" with this one, just such a great game
I - Not a lot of choices for me here but will go with IL-2 1946
J - Another slim list to choose from so I will go with Just Cause 2 even though I haven't played it much
K - Kerbal Space Program hands down in a small field
L - Left 4 Dead 2; a close choice with LIMBO and Life is Strange being good games as well but went for adrenalyn
M - Mass Effect; this was tough with Mafia 2 and Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor as competition
N - NBA 2K14; easy choice in this letter
O - OOTP 17 wins a close one over Orcs Must Die!
P - Portal 2; with Papers Please getting a good look
Q - Qvadriga; my only Q game, only short play time but it seems like it may be fun
R - Rocket League, though I sucks at it; Rock of Ages is also a fun game
S - Sid Myers Civ 5; Stardew Valley, Solar 2 and Silent Hunter 3 make this a tough choice
T - Tomb Rider; enjoyed that game a lot but Ticket to Ride gets a lot of family play time
U - Universal Sandbox; could be overtaken by the second version but haven't had enough time with it yet
V - Verdun; this was an easy choice
W - The Witcher 3; Walking Dead and Wasteland 2 were close to being chosen
X - XCOM: Enemy Unknown; hands down in this letter
Y - You Don't Know Jack; my only Y game
Z - Zuma's Revenge; only 2 to choose from so this one wins

For the first time in probably 4-5 years a major Steam Sale (I count Winter and Summer as the two majors) has passed and I didn't purchase a single thing. Death to the new format. A pox upon it.

I like it in one way, I don't spend as much money. Knowing things will be on sale the entire time gives me a chance to think about it. I cleared out my shopping cart several times when I would put an item in it to think about for later and when later arrived I thought no thanks.

Picked up Tales of Zestiria and am having a ton of fun with it. Nothing mind blowing, nothing new, just a solid action RPG with nice anime elements to it.

I purchased a few games: Doom, Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, The Long Dark, The "new" Splinter Cell, Sanctum 2, and Satellite Reign.

A good, though likely unnecessary haul.

I'm upset because there is nothing fun about these sales. I like fun, I like excitement, and the old sales used to bring that. Each day at noon everyone at work would hit steam to see the sales, yak about them for a few minutes, get each other worked up about one game or another. Friends would send emails "hey did you see Game X is on sale today? Blah blah blah". It was fun.

Did I just save myself $25-30 dollars? Sure. But I would gladly trade that cash for 10 days of fun (oh yeah plus actually the games themselves).

I'm not much of a gamer so I'm not going to scroll through hundreds of games I've never heard of looking for a deal. But I do love the wish list feature - I just put a few things on there, and Steam emails me when they're on sale. When a game I've been vaguely interested in for years is on sale for $2.99, I'll jump in and buy it and give it a shot. My gaming interests tend to be outdated by at least 5 years, it's great to be able to spend so little.

This is exactly me. I see what you guys have to say about a particular game, then I look over some reviews and Let's Play videos. If I'm interested, I'll put it on my wishlist and then wait for the on-sale alert.

Had a pretty good haul, I think. I picked up the following over the weekend:

Bully
The Ball
The Solus Project
Block'hood
Space Colony
Stardew Valley
Don't Starve Alone Pack
DDS: Pro Basketball 2016
DDS: College Basketball 2016

Maybe I'll finally find a game or two to take my gaming time from NBA2K, at least until I pick up 2K17.
