It's going to crack 2M in day 2. I'm seriously thinking of giving it a go.

It was created by The Oatmeal creator Matthew Inman. I don't know who he is, but people at work said he's an internet cartoonist with a fairly decent following. So it's not 100% crazy out of the blue.

Yeah, the Oatmeal is massive. It's not like somebody put up some wacky card game out of the blue with no backstory

I backed the exploding kittens before they hit $1M (will that be the next hipster thing, sportsdigs had this 2 weeks ago?) because it looks like another fun card game if a group gets tired of Cards Against Humanity. I got the NSFW pack.

There's only one thing I backed that a) succeeded and b) looks like it will flame out. A bummer, because it was one I really was keen on. But dem's the breaks. I never back with more money than I would feel "ok" losing at slots.

dola

Going to crack 3 million on day 3.

I went in on it just because I love The Oatmeal. Plus they basically said that when they reach 100,000 backers they are making the NSFW deck a complete deck instead of just an add on. So essentially 2 game decks.

Not even 10 days in and they are now the #1 most backed kickstarter of all time with over 115k and counting, totaling north of 4.5M.

Down to the last 36 hours for you to get on the Exploding Kittens bandwagon.

They've hit all the stretch goals and raised over 7.3M with over 182k backers.

Pretty insane for a card game.

If you're a tabletop roleplayer, check out The Thin Blue Line. A Tabletop RPG setting about police officers overcoming paranormal threats in Detroit, MI. Uses Savage Worlds rules.

I'd love to see this one funded. Pretty cool premise and a great take on Detroit.

Five weeks to get a job (lost last one due to medical issues) and get a paycheck to afford it. Really strong day 1 so far, $750K and counting.

I've been following a thread about Techno Bowl on Board Game Geek for about a month and the kickstarter just went live - may be of interest to fans of Tecmo Bowl, Blood Bowl, etc. Seems like a neat concept and the designer seems friendly and engaged with people.

I'm wondering who the headless guy is in the video.

I actually kind of feel sad watching this .

I always enjoy a good Kickstarter disaster story. Here's the The Peachy Printer, the first $100 3D Printer & Scanner, which raised $650,000. After three years, one business partner posts a video saying that all the money is gone, and that his other business partner used the money to build a house. It's set to weird sad music and contains interviews with the business partner that apparently spent all the money, and a few (apparent) backers that they brought in just to break the bad news to them on camera.

We're sorry, but something went wrong (500)

After my successful foray's into backing Exploding Kittens and Joking Hazard no way I could pass up the Oatmeal's newest venture of Bears v. Babies. I showed my kids the intro video and they were cracking up while my wife was making a totally strange, lost face. It's perfect.

Wow, I had no idea...this is a local story for me...was on the news last night. Not the sort of thing you'd want to be coming out of your city/province....

First kickstarter I've done in a while:

Knights of the Chalice 2

The TL;DR is this is a fantasy party-based RPG with tactical turn-based combat based on OGL 3.5 which is akin to the AD&D 3.5 ruleset. The game is already done and provided after the kickstarter with the first module (40 hours of gameplay), with both available on steam soon after.

The original Knights of the Chalice came out in 2009 which had basic elements for most of the game (graphics, music, story) but had fantastic tactical combat and smart enemy AI. The sequel took a while to make in part because the creator wanted the game to be module-based like Neverwinter Nights so that others could create new modules based on his system. It's a more in-depth game compared to the original (22 classes vs. 3, addition of skill-based checks in dialog and for certain races or feats, recruitable companions).

Check it out if that type of thing interests you.
