Yeah it was, would never have expected a Congresswoman to promote voting that way. Ilhan Omar played with her too. Over 400,000 people watched

Ilhan Omar actually built her own gaming PC. That is pretty cool.

The Tabletop Fest has started now-lots on sale, the one that immediately caught my attention was One Deck Dungeon 90% off or $1

Dep Sky Derelicts is $5
Aeon's End is $7.50
Talsiman is $1.75
Talisman: Origin is $4.20
Le Havre is $1.39
Pandemic is $5

Got Spirit Island finally. Not a great sale, but I enjoyed the board game version a lot.

The Long Journey Home, a game where you are captain of mankind's first jump ship. Something goes horribly wrong on its maiden run, and you find yourself far from home, and now must find your back. It reminds me a lot like FTL from the map used, but there is much more story involved and some RPG, (and maybe platformer>) elements thrown in. It is 90% off or $3 on GoG.com right now, a fantastic price.

It's the same price on Humble Bundle. If you have the coupon, you get an additional 30 cents off.

So we were talking on here recently about old-school games finally coming to Steam. I've got something older to report that is coming to Steam. Something from 1980 old in fact. It's none other than Rogue! Can't believe they are charging anything for a game this old though:

Rogue, the original Roguelike from 1980, is now available on Steam | PC Gamer

it's Steam....

i liked Ancient Domains of Mystery...and Larn
I played the hell out of those. Rogue was indeed the first time I saw it. Like in...1983? 84 maybe?

I think my problem with rogue is that it lacks goals and direction.

Moria was cool as it incorporated tolkien mythos but I felt this one was much harder which isn't a good look for a game so instadeath as that.

Yes, it's very good if you like turn-based D&D type games. It's still in EA, but otherwise I recommend it.

I really enjoyed XCOM2 and it's expansions - is this something I'd enjoy even if I'm not familiar with the D&D aspect? The turn-based stuff is waht I'm looking for

If you liked Xcom 2, you should try Phoenix Point. It has been out awhile on the Epic Store but comes to Steam on 12/10. I've played it a lot with the two DLC's and really enjoy it.

Fanatical having a 25th anniversary sale-lots of games on sale, so check your wishlist. Far Cry 5 is 80% off or $10 which was the sale price that jumped out at me

To me it has a different feel than XCOM2 and is less tactical combat. That probably will change as the party gains more levels and characters have more options. I haven't been able to spend as much time with the game as I hoped because of work stuff.

One thing I will add is that I think it's being set up to have a lot of user generated content which if the game is successful could mean a lot of replayability.

Phoenix Point is a better game than it gets credit for. I think it had some issues at launch and may not have lived up to the hype but is a solid game now. Anyone who has XBOX Gamepass for PC can play it for free.

I love it! I had a blast playing it. I got pretty far and then they did a pretty big update that changed som mechanics. Not bad changes at all, I just decided to pause my game then and there and wait for further updates until starting a new campaign. I had three ships, multiple squads, flying all over the world. Great game.

I’ve, also, started Gears Tactics, which I’m really enjoying as well. No base management, but the missions are a lot of fun and there are very robust skill trees.

I, also, liked Xcom: Chimera Squad quite a bit.

Since it was an Epic exclusive that ticked many people off but yes.. it's well polished now and I'm getting ready to jump back into once the ARKHAM UPDATE (V1.8) drops on 11/4.

Yeah not sure why Microsoft has such problems with this. Phantasy Star Online was so bad they eventually went to Steam with it

RollerCoasterTycoon2 is $1 at Fanatical for $1 for next 20 hours or so. Hitman 2 for just over $10. Control for $17.50. They also have a Roguelike Bundle for 96% off or $4 for 10 roguelike games this includes Sword of the Stars: The Pit, one that I like a lot, its a new version that gives you the chance to play as 3 new alien races, and contains all DLC's to date.

The campaign is amazing, albeit short (and for some stupid reason, you can only play it once...). But for $30, that feels pretty good.

They're not in a good spot at the moment, because gamers (as they are want to do) finished and immediately started clamoring for DLC/more content. The developers made a mistake in not having some in the chamber. Compounded by the covid crisis...

They're working on getting a new Kate Bishop module in by Dec 8, and a follow-up Hawkeye (in Future Imperfect, with Maestro as big bad)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9OQO_8GS4M

I'm still having fun with it. For $30, I don't think it's regrettable at all - and could turn out to be a great bargain. I would definitely recommend if you were pondering it anyway. The devs are still active, they are just behind.

So it turns out I am thankful to GeForce Now, a cloud-based service that lets you play games with updated graphics on your phone, PC (through Steam), and other devices. I was watching a sponsored stream on You Tube that used it, and it mentioned that I could get one hour of gametime free through it. I have not been able to play No-Man's Sky since 2018 because my very old graphics card even with new drivers refused to play it. So I signed up for their free service, synced up my Steam library and crossed my fingers, and soon I was playing it. My saved games were there still too. Maybe i can put off buying a new graphics card or computer now.

Price/month is $5 right now, or $25 for 6 months. Either of those gets you priority access to the clouds (low, no queue), extended session length, and RTX on-ray tracing and other graphics upgrades, Certainly worth it for those graphics intensive games.

There's no way that this will actually turn out to be the miracle for me that it sounds like ... but I certainly may have to make sure.

It's free for you to try, so why not hope for the miracle? What game are you trying to play? They don't have every game available.

Edit: You can search available games here Jon:

Yep, just looked over the list.

I was just talking earlier in the week about what I'm really in the mood to play: "something with a deep tech tree to mess around with", with HOI4 being a primary motivator for that remark/urge.

After consulting the list AND the kid (who Steams a lot more than I do), we do own something that would give me a great test opportunity: CK3, which CTDs on my laptop since I fail the graphics requirement.

Definitely on the list of things to do later/in the next few days, cause if that test were to be successful then I'd be pretty optimistic about my chances with HOI4.

I really like Ancestors, but it has the most purposefully opaque UI that I've ever seen.

It doesn't tell you how to do anything. You have to figure out how to move and use objects on your own. It took a fair amount of googling for me to get to a point where I felt like I was playing adequately.

I found it really fun, but I suck t it. It's definitely very different than anything else I have played.

Steam and Humble Bundle have it for 60% off, or $15.99, as well.
