Resources for kids learning baseball?
Anyone have any links or other resources for kids who are looking to learn baseball? Thinking rules, strategy, that sort of thing.
My daughter's been playing for a few years now and can catch, throw and hit. She's enjoyed it well enough. But this year, she has to move up a level, and it will be the first year she's playing in a league with umpires, kids pitching, etc. Plus, she'll be playing with kids a few years older. She doesn't follow MLB or watch much baseball on TV, so stuff like "which base do I throw to?" or "when should I try to run to the next base" are still pretty iffy. She's pretty good at the basics -- she was the best hitter on her team last year -- but I could see her getting frustrated, especially if other kids know what to do and she doesn't. When I was a kid I just knew this stuff because I watched baseball all the time, but I'm finding it's all a lot harder to explain to a non-fan than I thought. Just wondering if anyone has any tips.

Maybe a video game be a useful teaching tool in this case?

Yeah, that probably would have worked best. Kind of wish I'd got her hooked on some app a few months ago.

I'll quiz my daughter on simple scenarios like, you're SS and the ball is hit to RF, what do you do? Or, runner on first, ball hit to second, what do you do? I'll even do that while we're playing catch and have her say where she would throw to as she throws it back to me.

If there isn't an App for this, it should exist.
