Hattrick a plague?

It has to be!

Free time at work = log on and look at my team (same team as before) and check out the transfer to see what's going on

Free time at home = (when not programming) hang online at
hattrick.org checking my team and scoping the transfer market to
see what's going and coming to/from who/where.

Seems ALOT of my free time lately has been spent staring at
some page on hattrick or looking for a suitable logo.

I'd LOVE to find someone who's good at computer graphics
to make me the one I want:

Tomahawk missile bursting through the background (white) wrapped in an american flag

Could someone please direct me to the nearest HTAnon club!!!

Speaking of Hattrick has anyone figured out these conferences? Every time I try to log on, I can't. Also what time do I get my weekly update?

Sorry to threadjack....

not sure about weekly update time (sometime today all I know)

I can't get the conferences to work either. every time I click it throws error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e2f'

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'LastLogin', table 'ht_conf_dev.dbo.Users'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

/common/includes/functionsconf.inc, line 14

regardless of what conference I click.... grrrrrrr

I don't know about the conferences, but we are reading everywhere that they've been shaky for quite some times now. With the server problems they had, they might have to put more time on figuring out/fixing the game servers problems.

About it being an addiction, you tell me. I LOVE playing with number in excel, and Hattrick is absolutely pushing me overboard. See the Rankings in the Dynasty board for an example of what I'm talking about

The youth pulls were sapposed to happen about an hour ago...but the server seems to be lagging....I have been able to get to the conference boards some, but more often than not they don't seem to work.

It's usually rigth after the weekly update. From your Country's page, you should see when the updates occur. From Canada, I can see this line...

Weekly and daily updates (sunday): 4/13/2003 at 02:15

Which means next weekly update should happen next Sunday at 2:15 or so, HT time. This mean the weekly update of this week should have happened about 45-50 minutes ago in Canada, yet I still can't pull a youth player. Maybe they are running late.

Looking at USA's page, click on "league dates" bottom right. You should then see a similar line as to the one I just described for Canada. Yours says:

Weekly and daily updates (sunday): 4/13/2003 at 01:30

This would mean that your update must have started about an hour and a half ago (it's currently 3:10 Sudnay, HT time)

You should be able to pull a youth very, very soon. Be patient, take deep breaths, you'll have your dose very soon

I'm thinking this 'Spring Forward' mess is wrecking havoc.

In my 'Last 5 events in USA' column it says last update was:

Daily Arena Updates (01:30 - 0130) (Today)

nothing about weekly yet. but it'll come, and when it does,
people will pull, sigh cause they're further in debt (not me
surprisingly), joy cause they'll get out of debt (very few I imagine)
and finally renew their 'weekly hattrick addiction' routine

It's been a mess tonight. I really hate it when it gets all laggy like this. It's bad enough that you can't scratch off your 'Youth Pull Lottery Ticket', but you can't even read the conference.

On a related gripe. Anybody ever open up HT, and the fonts are huge? Often times, I have to swap to another country before I can even see the log on boxes. Usually, when I switch around, the font corrects itself. Today though, it just wouldn't.

The Crawfish need a young solid keeper so that the IRS doesn't show up. And could someone get me a decent laser that is compatable with your basic crawfish?!?

While we are all just waiting around for the update to happen...any plans on what you are going to pull?
I have been contimplating this all week....If I pull keeper I have a better chance of getting something I can sell, but if I pull an outfielder and he is decent I can either use him, or sell him.....decisions...decisions...

I feel sorry for your youth pulls. If they suck they get thrown to the crawfish, I simply fire mine.

Dola.

I pulled a keeper last week and he sucked, so this week I am going with the youth player.

Dude, you really crack me up. I've just decided that the Pintendre Pittbulls will officially support your team. We know it won't bring you any money, but hey even if Hattrick made transfers possible, we don't have any money anyway...

I have pulled four, that's FOUR WRETCHED keepers in a row, you can bet this week we will go with an outfielder. Or maybe I should stick with keeper? Crap that decision is haunting me again, aaaaaarrrrrggh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is inadequate also, has been for 2 weeks now I think...I will probably flip a coin to decide keeper or outfielder...

Mine is poor, but I hope it improves this week. I know I am pulling an outfielder.

Lets face it, we are all nervously awaiting the outcome of this youth pull.

For those intersting in giving advice, you can check out my thread in the dynasty forum about my hatrick team.

I dont know. I think you could get some rookie to buy him for maybe $20k. When I was rookie, oh about a week and a half ago, I probably would have paid more than that for him. But I have learned.

I think you could sell him for maybe around 40k...but I would start the bidding low to get a bunch of teams interested...he is a good set pieces guy, and passable at 3 key positions...someone could pick him up to either be a starter, or play a few different positions.

this guy has some kind of weird qualities, the kind that make him seem like a good all around guy, but not the best at anything...

passable playmaking, good for midfielder but not much for anywhere else
passable scoring, good for forward but not at all anywhere else
passable defense, good for defender and a tiny bit good for midfielder

As GE, maybe a rookie might pay for him. I know I wouldn't much for him, but that might be just me

Ok..getting very testy. Getting hammered in CM, nothing I do works. Can't get my youth pull. Can't read conferences(most of the time).

Selling a guy. I'll post him, since that'll be doing something. . .
John Rosa, 19yrs

Stam: Inad
Wing: Solid
Passing: Weak
Defending: Weak

Some guy from Portugal already bid $35k on him. Think he's a 2.5* type of offensive forward.

put a guy on the market other day valued at $124,000
meant to start it at $24,000 another old fart (30)

didn't pay attention and wound up putting him on at $224,000
wasted $1,000 since I'll resubmit him on the 7th when he comes back to my team lol

Hey thanks for supporting me. I can use all the help I can get. Anyway, right now I going to pull keepers till I get something decent. On a happy note, my stadium is now 16000 seats strong. can't wait for a home game and some much needed cash moneys.

Yeah, I had forgotten about your stadium improvement. I'm in the red for the same reason, but I improved the stadium to only 12000 seats, since we had just been relegated and lost some 60 supporters in the process...

Your 16000 seats should come in handy, especially if you another round or two of cup games at home...

Was just able to do my youth pull. Good news was that my youth squad is now passable, WOOHOO. I opted to go with a keeper yet once more, here's the fellow I got...

Benjamin Mueller (10780016)
18 years, passable form, healthy

A controversial person who is balanced and honest.
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Nationality: Canada
Assessed value: 240 000 C$
Wage: 2 200 C$/week
Owner: Pintendre Pittbulls
Warnings: 0

Stamina: wretched Goaltending: inadequate
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: disastrous

While he won't be the saviour of the team or what will bring our team out of debt, he will make for a nice backup keeper. My current backup keeper is 24, inadequate too, but only valued at 170 000 C$. This tells me that the new guy is an higher kind of inadequate than my current one.

Anybody got experience as to when a keeper pops from "inadequate" to "passable" in terms of value??

I am pretty much going to risk playing most of my starters this week in both games. Next week I am luck because my game is against a very weak squad that anyone could beat. No more debt for me, only the finest lasers for my Crawfish!

The guy you just pulled is valued at $170k US dollars? I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I would assume this guy is very very close to being passable, my passable keeper right now is valued $158k US dollars, and inadequate form...so I am not to sure, but I would think he is very very close to passable.

I still can't do a pull. Although I might now want to. As it is right
now, unless it goes up, my youth squad is wretched with $20,000
inv. granted this will be the first week I've had this team so I'm
not to optimistic of any player I pull this early. Although I might
have god-like luck and get a decent player? or is wretched, or
whatever it might go up to, going to be the best I can get?

it is all just luck, you could pull a excellent or a solid, it is just very, very unlikely. If you do, people will find you(since you are lost) and probably kill you. Just a warning, pull your sucky players like the rest of us

You can only pull a solid keeper, excellents only come in the outfield...I just know that from the rules, from experience, poor comes anywhere you pull from.
