I was thinking incomprehensible, but smart alecky works as well.

Dan Patrick on the Radio = awful
Keith Olbermann's tv show = awful

But somehow the two of them on the radio entertains me.

Yeah, as knowledgeable as Patrick is, and as purposely idiotic as Cowherd is, Cowherd is infinitely more entertaining than Patrick when you listen to their radio shows back-to-back. But Patrick and Olbermann always work well together.

I don't know about that, I find Cowherd absolutely unlistenable. It may be the worst radio program I've ever listened to for more than about 15 seconds.

I find him entertaining, but only because of his schtick. He's very much like any one of a number of blowhard political radio hosts, except he's talking about inconsequential stuff like sports, so I can listen and enjoy it for what it is. He acts like an idiot, but I find it entertaining.

Patrick's show is a snoozefest, except for when he has Olbermann, Peter King, or Rick Reilly on. He should have a different co-host for each day who sits in with him for the entire 3 hours.

Dan and Keith talked about the Price Is Right job a week or two ago on the air. I heard about the announcement on Tuesday, then heard it was postponed...and I figured, yep, he's...

"Gone."

He's on two stations here in Delaware - one of them is a Fox affiliate, but since his show is syndicated, I doubt he has anything to do with Fox.

I've got XM, so I was wondering if he's on any of the big name channels. I assume so. I've never watched it, but I've seen hi TV show advertised on ESPN.

Closest affiliate to you looks like it might be WLRO-FM 101.5 in Lexington.

I stopped listening to Rome ~1996/97 when he spent the first segment of his show talking about taking his cat to the vet the day before and how hard it was to get the cat to take medication. He spent the rest of the show randomly inserting "Take. The. Pill. Cat."

Remember when an MLB team hosted a double header against 2 different teams? It was some time around 2002/3/4. He spent his entire show talking about how it was Little League night. "Are the visitors for the second game going to warm up behind the 1st base dugout? Are all of the teams going to get their hotdog and soda tickets after the game?"

That guy is an idiot.

I hope DP isn't leaving. I look forward to his show every day.

I used to think this. The more I listened to him, the more I liked him. I still don't think he's that great, but I think he's better than the disaster that Mike and Mike have become.

yes and yes.

if cowherd would stop repeating himself 100 times on each statement the program would be 12,000% better.

mike and mike is just an abomination now unless you find their schtick cute

Mike & Mike are the way they are because they do a half-sports talk show and half-morning drive talk show. The shtick is purely to compete with the morning radio shows, and that's why they layer it on so thick.

Cowherd is pure entertainment. Put it this way...my wife will listen to him when we're on a trip; otherwise, she makes me change the channel because she's sick of listening to sports talk with interruptions every 20 minutes to repeat the same news we just heard 20 minutes ago.

Good lord yes. One day I was tempted to type out a transcript of one 3 minute tirade on Bobby Knight that litterally involved 2 sentences repeated over and over again.

You know, I didn't like Kuselius for the longest time, and then when I finally started to enjoy him, he left for NASCAR. That guy they replaced him with is, at best, bearable, and at times, embarrassing. I've never seen one guy on the radio misuse so many words/phrases in my life.

He'd be a much better fit for that, than for ESPN.

That said, George Wallace the comedian would be a funny guest host.

Stephen A. Smith hosting the Price is Right? May God save us all. . .

Edit: What Ksyrup said. I like it. This is good.

Edit: If you think it'd be fun watching some old lady die of shock after a Stephen A screaming session, I think you need to reevaluate your idea of entertainment.

If you notice, Cowherd will repeat himself throughout a show if he thinks he said something clever. He'll also try to carry it over to other shows for a week or so.

I haven't listened to mike and mike in over a year probably. They went from sports to entertainment, which is a microcosm of ESPN itself, I guess.

I prefer FSR, Steve Zaban is probably my favorite sports radio show. Love listening to him in the mornings. They moved his time slot around so much in San Antonio it was hard to listen to him, though.

I still enjoy the spanning the globe segment on Cowherd, but it seems like the rest of the show is just about how smart he thinks he is. Or should I say how smart they think they are--as Cowherd constantly speaks as "we."
