I've watched a zillion episodes of Pawn Stars, and Rick is still the only person I've heard call Corey "Big Hoss". What gives.

In the event this was a serious question... when you turn fruits and vegetables into juice, much of what you're removing is the fiber.

Natural fruits and vegetables are the original recording, juice is just a 12-inch dance remix.

The 12" remix of I Feel Love has 353% more fiber than the radio edit. Just sayin'.

i'd like to talk to the intelligent design people and ask them why after consuming a bunch of calories i feel like taking a nap.

also, pooping. ever seen a dog poop? shit's efficient. i have to keep baby wipes by the shitter so i don't get that 'not so fresh' feeling.

If I can get the classes I want tomorrow in registration, I'll be in class on Tuesdays and Thursday 930-415. I like this.

Tues/Thurs scheduling generally rules. But it becomes a very long day by the end. I have to take Spanish the next two semesters so I'm locked into going M-F, which sucks.

It's neat because you have other days you can work or, I guess, just slack off.

However, it really ramps up the odds that you have more than one project or test due on any given day. This is especially dangerous if you have 3 or more classes with the same number of midterms as they all tend to fall at the same time of year.

Got Tues-Thurs, 8-245.

It still feels rather surreal. I hate that I have to take the most basic of math classes, but I hate math so I guess it's okay even if it doesn't count toward my degree.

Strangely enough, I'm bidding on new jobs.

Virginia Tech is interested in me for an Executive Masters Degree but once a month for the next 18 months I have to drive 3 hours to D.C. for class work. I'm still debating that or the regular online program. Still it's nice to be wanted...but it's a lot with my workload, a 4 month old, and the like.

My in-laws just gave us 10k to pay off credit card debt, we'll be free in a month.

I'm all over the place.

I need to get my head in the game. Summer semester starts tomorrow and I took the spring off.

Speaking of math, I still need to take a freaking placement test despite passing a college math class and scoring close to 700 on my SAT's. Granted these things were almost 2 decades ago, but making me take math is a nice money grab by the university.

This reminds me of my freshman year of school.

I took some AP classes in HS, and took calculus my senior year. Did fine on my SATs, college entrance exams etc.

Still got placed in college algebra. Rather than question it, figured I'd just go, get it over with.

Day 1 of class, professor writes across the top of the board:

x x^2 √x

Proceeds to write "1" in the first column.

"Who knows what 1 squared is? Anyone, anyone...right, it's 1. What about square root of 1? Also 1".

Write 2 in the x column.

"OK, what about 2 squared...."

etc etc, 1-20. That was the first day of class.

Never so happy when I show up the 2nd day, he pulls me aside and gives me a letter saying after reviewing my testing, I tested out of this class, and I'm being withdrawn and moved into a Calc class.

Also, why is Zooey Deschanel asking Siri if it's raining? She's standing in front of a gigantic window and has enormous eyes. Can she not see this for herself?

Same question I had a couple weeks ago to my wife.

Sit him down and have him watch the Great Santini. After the movie is over, ask him if he wants to go outside and play some basketball.

If an ice cream truck passes your house and you go out and ask the ice cream man what song his truck is playing, and he doesn't know, it should be legal to shoot him in the face.

Dammit. I used to go to a great UK site that had listings of DVD releases going back a decade, and all upcoming releases. It listed the company, region & had detailed reviews of special features.

This is what it was like:

DVD Times - DVD News, Reviews and Features

It had been a few months since I had been to it. Now it forwards to a new site. All that good stuff is gone.

Dammit!

So this nice looking girl at subway was telling me how she cut her finger almost off. She was training someone and totally missed the bag of mayo. Guess I can't date her.......... what if when she acted like she was going to cut me she missed and actually did.

Sounds like you should be ok as long as you don't hold bags of mayo when you are around her.

More and more cars have their headlights on during the day. Is it too much to believe the auto manufacturers have decided to rip us all of by making sure our headlights burn out quicker by leaving them on all the time instead of just when it's dark?

Well I don't even know how to make fudge. I guarantee a coffee table would love to have some of the words from these hallowed halls sitting on it. Could probably glean some nuggets from that thread for sure. Or with the right look and delivery, a guy could totally make a career as a comedian out of stories here.

It's easy:

2 1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Margarine or butter
2/3 c Evaporated milk
1 Jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme
2 c Semi sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c Chopped walnuts
1 ts Vanilla
Line 9 inch square or 13x9 inch pan with foil so that foil extends over sides of pan; butter foil. In large saucepan, combine sugar, margarine and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add marshmallow creme and chocolate chips; blend until smooth. Stir in walnuts and vanilla. Pour into buttered, foil-lined pan. Cool to room temperature. Score fudge into 36-48 squares. Refrigerate until firm.
Remove fudge from pan by lifting foil; remove foil from sides of fudge. Using large knife, cut through scored lines. Store in refrigerator.
Makes about 3 pounds--36-48 squares.

Oh and the cool pictures thread would have to go in the book too.

I leave my lights on during the day because I believe it's been shown to reduce crashes. I also don't expect to have to replace my headlights before I sell this thing, so joke's on them!
