Referring to losing to Germany in the quarterfinals at Japan/Korea 2002 here? (I doubt you mean the second place finish in the 2009 Confederations cup.)

Amusingly enough those are our only two LigaMX players (since Arriola was bought by D.C. United).

The US doesn't have a lights out keeper anymore. He went south a couple years ago.

How can we be losing to the worst team in the hex, on the road or not, this is a disaster, even if we still make the wc. It's clearly not the game of a world class caliber soccer system.

I'm bracing myself for Italia not making the world cup in 2018. They are not playing well under Ventura, and most players look like they don't even want to play for the man. Embarrassing really.

So why wouldn't Costa Rica and Mexico throw the 2nd half? They have to have been told that the US is in deep shit by now.

If you have Telemundo, the announcer was calling all 3 games at the same time. I felt bad for the guy as he but he is doing a great job and announcing CONMEBOL scores while covering all 3 games live.

Honduras players have been taking turns falling down with cramps on every play so Mexico has to kick it out of bounds. They know what's up.

We're dangerously close to "guy laying on turf and flailing around" time for TT.

To be fair to TT, they've not quit playing and they've not played unfairly.

I need some of the FOFC police to tell me if this is an embarrassment yet that the US can't beat teams that spend a thousands of a fraction on their program and national league.

Regardless of the outcome (and it doesn't look good for the US), I have to man up and admit I was wrong about Bruce Arena coming in to save the day. I was wrong about Klinsmann; maybe it wasn't him after all...

This. For the US to be going backwards while MLS goes forwards and more and more money is spent on soccer, is completely unthinkable.

Plus having one of the best young players in the world, of course.

I’m not so sure it is that clear cut. Outside of Arena’s two game win streak, I was no super impressed by our play outside of our game against Panama.

I swear Taylor Twerp was on ESPN a week ago saying the US not qualifying wasn't a bad thing. I don't think he had this imagined as the way that we wouldn't make it.

Gulati needs to go. The whole program needs to be torn down from the top to the bottom. You got 5 years to get things back on track.

That should completely reboot all of US Soccer. I mean, from the top down. It has to, we supporters should settle for nothing less.

Absolutely unacceptable. Fire everyone. I have tended to defend Arena, but this was terrible. As bad as Klinsmann's team loss to CR. Worse even. How in the fuck is this the same team that won 4-0 last week?!
