Been seeing reports on twitter all morning that Aretha is gravely ill and might not be with us for long.

Apparently she's in hospice care at her home. If it's her Bloomfield Hills home, that's 2 doors down from my aunt and uncle.

Wow. How is that possible? For regular people, it's easy to brush it off as something you'll do when you have the time/money. For people like that, they've got people who do that stuff for them. If it was a conscious decision, then maybe that says something about the family.

There were a number of charities, including her father's church, that were told by Aretha they would be taken care of after her death. I bet this is quite a shock to them.
