Anyone remember this show?

I was quite a fan of it. Granted I was in my teens when it was on but I remember the show being a lot of fun, no matter how cheesey it was.

Well, there has been talk of the first three seasons being re-run on MTV 2.

That'd be a blast, I must say.

It will be night after night of blast, if my memory of midnight alone in my bedroom during high school is any indication.

Oh, and its surprising that there are a fair number of decent actors who got their start there.

I remember seeing it, flipping through stations at hours when nothing else was on. It struck me as teen softcore porn for cable as they just tried to see how little clothing they could get away with while having stories that almost all centered around sex.

i hated this show. i would come home from the bar, be in the mood for a little fondling and start surfing cable (this was before i became an internet porn degenerate) and if there weren't any good R rated movies on i'd be stuck with this nonsense show. i'd always get mad cuz i'd be frustrated trying to get some materials and all i'd see would be bad acting and lots of dialogue. wasn't nearly as good for fondling as the title suggested. bah.

On a relate subject...I'm sure this has to do with me being a dad to 2 young girls, but we were in KMart yesterday, and in the kid's clothes section, they had a section of boy's shirts in the 8 and 10/12 size range, one of which was pink and said, "Keep Laughing...this is your girlfriend's shirt." Now, I'm not a prude or anything, but in that size, you're basically talking about elementary school kids, probably 4-6 grade, right? My daughter's only in 2nd grade and wears a 10-12 girls size. And the clear implication from the shirt was (a) kids that age had girlfriends, and (b) the kid wearing it was saying that he had slept with (or at least had the opportunity to take the shirt off of) someone else's girlfriend.

Am I nuts, or is that extraordinarily inappropriate for that target age?

I've heard some pretty foul mouthed/creepy 8-10 year olds in the past year or so at malls and in stores- it's kindof scary.

I love that show..

The people I can think of that "made it" (I think that you have to think relatively here - these are basically people I have seen with any semblence of success outside of this show)

Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) - happened upon this on IMDB, don't watch BG
Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) - Recognized the name immediately on IMDB from i guess seeing magazine covers and such, but I don't watch One Tree Hill

Hmmm, IMDB (at least without pay) seems to not list everyone cause here are ones I know without searching:

Bree Turner (Duece Bigelow, American Pie 2, and a bunch of other minor parts) - she's the girl that goes into the fishtank with the white t-shirt in Duece Bigelow.. this girl is so not my type normally, but there's SOMETHING about her that does it for me...

I know of another actress, but can't think of her name...

Someone else might know more. If you go on IMDB a lot of these actors/actresses have a lot of acting credits in somewhat minor things, seems like quite a few of them have had pretty successful careers in soap operas, but I couldn't pick them out I just see long credits to the shows on IMDB.

Watching this show was a little like watching the old Love Connection show. In any given 30-minute episode, you knew you only had a couple of stories to watch, so when one would come up that wasn't interesting for whatever reason, you felt a bit cheated. Same thing with Undressed - you'd be psyched up for a half-hour show, and then the first story would be about 2 gay guys, and you'd feel like they cheated you out of half an episode. Not good times. Luckily, though, they used to run them back-to-back for hours on end.

When is someone going to start rerunning the old Silk Stalkings shows? I've seen the DVDs on sale. That show was way ahead of its time on making lesbianism a story line.

I love the list of films here for UP ALL NIGHT. For some time I considered Zapped! the greatest movie in the history of cinema.

This show definitely had the capability to make you watch for 3-4 hours, till you'd look up and be "why is it 330AM, where the fuck did the night go."

Adam Brody from the OC was on a few episodes. He's a pretty good actor (and like a De Niro compared to the other OC kids).

Brandon Routh (superman) was on an episode or two.

Also Marc Blucas (Buffy TV show), Goldberg the Goalie, a couple of other OC bit guys (Chilli and the gardner), the guy from Hostel, John Ritter's son (He has some new sitcom on CBS this year), Gunn from Angel, one of those annoying older twins on 7th heaven, the Green Power Ranger, Taylor from the OC (so hot).

Now, I'm not saying that any or all of these people are hollywood elite, but there are a few who have gone on to better things and could be said to have "made" it. (Wait and see, Brody will be our generation's Tom Hanks, if Topher Grace doesn't get there first, been saying that since the Undressed days).

Note: it also has the following award nominations
Award nominations
  • 2000 - GLAAD Media Awards - Nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
  • 2001 - GLAAD Media Award - Nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
  • 2001 - FILMLOOK Award - Teen Choice for Late Night Series
  • 2002 - POP Award - Special Recognition for Original Series

Interesting - was someone involved in making Undressed involved in making the OC or something?

Man, I remember when MTV used to run Undressed marathons on Friday and Saturday nights....6 hours of soft-core cable fun....such good memories. I can still remember the theme song in my head...

And they introduced some (depending on your taste) decent music through the show as well...I remember I first heard Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" in one episode.

As for my favorite Undressed alumni, it would have to go to Courtney Peldon, who played the spunky blonde sorostitute in one of the later seasons. She went on to make several guest appearances on Boston Public as I recall.
