Another thing - If we find out who the miracle worker is and are reasonably sure he isn't lying, we could take one HUGE long away team mission with virtually everyone on it (but not the doctor types). Yes, there would be some sabotage, but the sheer numbers would probably make up for it.

This seems like having a QB controversy in a good way. We seem to have the spawn licked so far, and with the generator working, we're pretty set for water. Personally, I think we'll be okay for water, but we don't want to risk any more infections. As long as we keep the spawn number low, we'll have a better shot at defending the water generator.

Would the sheer numbers make up for sabotage? Keep in mind that the bigger mission got way less water.

The problem is that if a small mission were sabotaged, we might not end up with anything. I got the idea that we just had really bad luck yesterday (with a bit of sabotage thrown in).

Barkeep: Can the second officer promote someone to security crewman (or anywhere else for that matter) even though we don't have a vacancy there?

If so, I would like to see this happen, meaning the 2nd officer wouldn't go on the mission.

Why? The miracle worker needs to be included on the away team mission. So, assuming the last mission was tainted, none of them were the miracle worker. Maybe it's an engineer? What the hell is taint, anyway?

And KWhit -- if you're worried about one mission being sabotaged, wouldn't it make sense to do two missions, so that we could still get some water through the other mission?

Yeah, but if the 2nd officer could promote a private to security crewman it would give us more spying and protecting capabilities. We should've been doing this all along (if it's allowed, I'm unsure of the rule).

All Spawn attacks must happen at night. The risk the Away Team suffers is from being attacked by creatures that might still on the surface.

While this morning's discussion goes on, one of the officers acts a little strange. RealDeal seems to be following first Vince and then Passacaglia around. It is very strange, but he doesn't seem to be harming them in anyway.

Meanwhile, SnDvls collects last night's phasers and informs everyone that he will be giving phasers to the same people, SnDvls, blade, hoops, fouts, and schmidty[color=blue] tonight.

My secret role is duplicant. So I decided to use it to become a doctor for a day. I performed two short scans on Vince and on Passacaglia. I scanned Vince to once and for all settle this problem of the nurse and doctor scanning each other. I figured clearing Vince would also clear RA (at least independent of conversion).

I also scanned Passcaglia simply because I was suspicious of him.

Both Vince and Passcaglia had clean scans, and I can definitely say they are survivors as of right now.

Good job RealDeal. I was trying to figure out what you were doing, but by clearing Vince (and hence essentially RA) along with Pass we now know of 4 people who are off limits as far as possibly being Spawn. At least when we vote today we have a narrowed group of suspicion.

My experience from previous games is that when you have a secret role better to use it too early than too late. I saved it before and just ended up eating dirt before I could use it.

Yes. Duplicant gives you the AP points of the class you duplicate, but you retain your public role AP points. So when I became a doctor, I got 2 doctor AP points, which I used on two one-AP-point short scans.

But I retain my second officer AP point, which can only be used for second officer eligible actions.

The reason I know this is because I spent a while conferencing with barkeep on how this worked.
