RFL Out Of Conference Scheduling thread
This thread is for setting up OOC schedules against human owners. I will create a spreadsheet with team schedules to track this.
Here is Indiana's schedule. BOLD games are eligible to be changed. We have already agreed to play Notre Dame at Notre Dame -- which week has yet to be determined. I'd be open to possibly one more human game this year. Code:

Done deal, sir. Hoosiers' schedule is now set. I've added two OOC games, and that is enough I think for this season. * = human opponent ** = I swapped out a generic opponent for Ball State, who we were originally scheduled to play before I added Boston College. Code:

When we swamp out teams, do they re-schedule? Does Central Michigan and Pittsburgh play each other now? Ball State and UCF (are they in the same conference)? I would hate to screw up other schedules by leaving them a game short or something and have it impact on BCS rankings, bowl positions, ect.

Awesome, can't wait to get started. I'll be away from my Box until Sunday though. Good to see Notre Dame rolling in to Husky Stadium this season. I'm definitely willing to swap my week 3 game versus Oklahoma out with another human opponent. Anybody want to travel to Seatown?

USC Schedule by Weeks in the game:
1: at Virginia 2: Bye 3: vs Ohio State 4: Bye 5: at Oregon State 6: Oregon 7: Arizona State 8: At Washington State 9: at Arizona 10: Washington 11: Cal 12: At Stanford 13: Bye 14: ND 15: at UCLA Games eligible to be changed are highlighted, apparently any non-conference game including rivalries can be changed. That being said, the only game I want to change is Virginia since my other OOC games are already against humans. I'd prefer to keep the game in week 1. Let me know if any of you want to play the 1st week. |

That USC-Ohio State game will be huge. I suspect it will have a rather big impact on the BCS rankings. Once I can get this solid Notre Dame program back to the elite level, our game could be rather huge (they usually play very late in the season every year, correct?) every year. Yes. Or the SirFozzie exception where one Top 25 OOC opponent can take the place of playing a human opponent. (Although I prefer that you play 3 humans) |

Just log in to the dynasty, go to your preseason schedule, and pick the schedule option under that. (You'll see reorder depth chart, set redshirts, etc. in the same area.)

Only the commish can schedule games, I think everyone is aware of that, but yeah.
Also, one bug in online dynasty, unless this has been fixed (I haven't read OS lately) is that only the commisioner controlled team can bring back players who they convince to stay when they're deciding to go to the draft or transfer. It'll let you convince them to stay, and say clear as day "STAYING" next to their name but when you go to the next season they do not appear on their rosters. Ran into this problem in my buddies and I league, so he doesn't allow his guys to come back now since it can be a huge advantage. |

Dola, what I mean with the schedules is you cannot even see your teams upcoming schedule until you advance to the start of the year unless the commish posts it for you, unless I am retarded, which is possible, but my friend and I are 8 seasons in and I haven't seen it no matter how I try.

Here's the schedule so far. I have incorporated all the OOC changes, I believe. Bolded games are ones that have been changed from the original schedule. I have a couple still to do in-game tonight.

Galaxy, want to play me Week 1 or 2? Either South Bend or Austin, I don't have a preference.
Same for you, Kodos. I want a rematch from our first online game.

I'm thinking I may have to alter my 3 human opponents rule. Three teams currently play zero human opponents (UGA, Texas, West Virginia), and Boston College falls one short (2 human opponents) with no OOC Top 25 teams scheduled.
I can't understand the fun of joining an online dynasty if you don't actually want to play against any humans. I'm going to reserve the right to add Top 10 opponents OOC for each game that teams fall under the 3-game limit (to discourage trying to just beat up on the AI and run away with a championship). Please discuss. I warned people about the iron fist. Last edited by Kodos : 07-30-2008 at 11:37 AM. |

I missed (or forgot about) the three human rule. I am happy to schedule anyone to play. I don't have high hopes for winning a championship as I stink at this game anyway.

It looks like UGA/USC could be a match for Week 1. What d'ya guys think? And maybe you could play cartman in Week 2? Also, I'll play you if you need me to get up to three. I will go easier on guys who act like they are trying to comply (or are at least paying attention to the RFL). Last edited by Kodos : 07-30-2008 at 12:06 PM. |

Ok -- I need some opponents. Fozzie, you want to head back to the Big East another time to play WVU? WVU would be happy to play Georgia, if there's room in their schedule.

Ah, I was thinking it was 3 out of conference human games, not just three overall. I guess it ends up being that for me, since I'm the only one in the Big 12.

I just got around to this thread, as I've been preoccupied. I'm happy to play any human in week 1 including Georgia. I'd strongly prefer to keep the game in week 1, though.

Eager to start playing the games too?
If guys can post the specifics (which week, versus who, where played) once they've come to a firm agreement, that'd be very helpful for your benevolent commish. I've updated the game to reflect the schedule I posted above. BTW, I made the schedule up based on actual team schedules found on the Internets, so some of the smaller OOC teams in the schedules may actually be a generic FCS team in game. In my case, I replaced one of them with Ball State (who had been on my original schedule but got replaced by my Week 4 Boston College game). If any of you want to make a similar move, just let me know. Or if you want to enjoy the ultimate cupcakes in your schedule, be my guest. Last edited by Kodos : 07-30-2008 at 03:11 PM. |

That is part of it. Also, I think the USC AD was very smart when he made sure his team had a week off before and after the Ohio State game. That game is going to be a war and I want to make sure I have all of my weapons |
