RFL 2009, Week 1 Preview/Results - Deadline 11/7 (Friday) at 11 pm

Welcome to the 2009 season, boys. Everyone has a bye week (as planned), so hopefully we can knock this out in a day or two, despite the official deadline being Friday night. Good luck!

The light colored games are Top 25 games against CPU opponents, the darker ones are against humans.

Nice. Not many games this week in the NCAA landscape (and I don't see any good games, either).

Looking forward, what are your realistic expectations for this season?

The pre-season outlook has projected to finish last in the ACC.

heheh. they're going to be a challenge.

Last year, it was all first half good, 2nd half bad. My QB would be decent, but if he threw 1 pick, it would quickly spiral out of control and his passes would be about 20 yards away from where they needed to be

I'm expecting 3-4 losses. Pretty much all of my user games and another Pac team getting me...

8-4, semi-respectable bowl game, don't get embarrassed by Clemson or UGA, get Georgia Tech immediately back up to a 4* prestige team.

I'm hoping to contend for the Big Ten title this season. No OSU on the schedule means we have a shot. I think we'll win at least 9 games.

Want to cheer on a Hoosiers football team that actually does pretty well? Check out my RFL Hoosiers in our online dynasty forum.

The Gophers are hoping for at least 5 wins this year. We lost a couple of tough games that we could have won last year, and I think the team is better this year, so I'd be disappointed with another 3-win season. I believe we're returning all starters at the skill positions on offense, and the defensive line looks strong. The biggest problem is going to be special teams, as our punter and placekicker are both true freshmen, and the kicker is a walk-on. That puts pressure on the offense, as they will need to get a few extra yards to reach FG range. It also puts pressure on the defense because we may be giving our opponents pretty short fields sometimes.

It won't be a great season in Minneapolis, but we at least hope to be somewhat competitive.

We're hoping for a Big Ten title and to contend for the National Championship. We lost a lot of starters (about 15 or so). Our starting HB is rated 79 OVR, and our starting QB isn't much better. We have decent team speed, so I'm going to have to rely a lot on calling the right plays at the right time to win. I play 4 Human games this year, 3 of which are against very high quality opponents in DeTox, bignej, and Kodos. A one loss or even undefeated season isn't out the question, but the odds aren't in my favor.

My goal is a 9-win season. We are a better team this year, returning a lot of our starters, with a more manageable schedule. If we can get three wins in our RFL games (at Michigan and Indiana; home against USC, BYU, and Washington), I think we can do it.

4* SS. I have a hard time in 09 getting SS so I am happy to get that position out of the way.

Recruiting done here as well. We got 1 recruit to sign this week as 5 star massive tackle Andy Razzano signed with USC. He is 6'8 296 and is the top rated tackle in the country.

Looks like all we have left are Pumpy and Radii. Macro still has to do his recruiting of course, but he's gone until Sunday.
