RFL 2010 Offseason - Complete

Here's who's going pro or transferring. Three teams have players transferring in. Once those players are accepted or rejected by Bigsmooth and Sun, we can move on to the first recruiting week of the 2010 Offseason.

Awesome. I kept Schilling and Ezeh. Warren I knew was gone, but so be it.

Could care less about the transfers.

I'm disappointed to see Travon Patterson (aka Robert Davis) go. He was a huge deep threat for us this year. Losing our LT and CB hurt too, but not as bad.

I think Bigsmooth is gone until Monday afternoon, if I remember correctly. I sent him a note over Xbox Live to let him know that we were in the transfer stage.

Losing Davis (to a human coach, no less) really sucks, but I guess I couldn't give him enough PT as a true freshman. He's a great return man. Have fun with him, Sun.

Losing Andrews (aka Jonathan Dwyer) sucks, but I think I have a number of young HB's that can step in at least adequately.

A big thanks to Karl on sending Thomas Davis my way. Holy crap is this guy fast. He is now officially the fastest man on my roster, barring me picking up a freshman who is faster.

Woohoo, I completed my main objective this year at Georgia Tech, improving them from a 3* program to a 4* program.

I just tried to get logged in to the EA servers, and it's not working for me for some reason. I'm leaving the house in about 15 minutes, and I might not be back before midnight. I know how important recruiting stages are, but if I haven't done anything by midnight, just advance without me. I'll pick it up in the next stage.

Last I checked, there were 4 guys who hadn't recruited yet. Since this is an important stage, I will likely be extending the deadline. The rest of the recruiting stages, I probably won't.

I tried again around 11:45 and still couldn't connect to the EA servers. I've only had this problem once before, and I didn't do anything specific to fix it. It just started working again eventually. I'll try again on Friday evening.

Darn. A bad week for us in trying to close the deal. We lost out on 3 players I really wanted. I'm really starting to hate Michigan and Clemson.

Edit: We are done recruiting for week 2, even though there are a few hours left on the clock.

UW is finished with week 2. Pretty solid class as we are rated 12th overall. We finish 2nd to the stupid Wolverines in the race for the #1 kicker.

holy crap, look at who's #2 right behind you ACC, ACC!

No way I'll finish up this high, but I'm thrilled so far.

dola, in fact I only have 2 more 3* guys to even look at, the rest are throwaways, so I'm effectively done. I expect to finish up with a top 15 recruiting class, likely 3rd in the ACC behind Clemson and FSU.

I wonder if we play this season. I hope so, after last season's nailbiter.

we're rivals, so we play every year despite being in different divisions. Georgia Tech's only two rivals are UGA and Clemson, lucky me

edit: Next year its in Death Valley and my best player(HB Andrews(aka Jonathan Dwyer)) went pro early this year, so yeah, I am not looking forward to this season's matchup.

Heh. Learn something new every day I guess. Cool. It should be an interesting game. I can't let you shut me down this time!

Do people feel the 2-day recruiting deadlines are too tight? We seem to consistently have guys not done at the end of 2 days.

Well, in the EBFL we haven't had a problem in two offseasons. It seriously only takes 10 minutes to do. I know people don't always want to spend time firing up Xbox and all that, but its 10 minutes. A two day cycle is ideal. Anything longer is absurd.

Yeah, two days is fine. I've missed one or two, but I would rather miss a week of recruiting than have nearly a month go by without any games being played. I think that would shorten the lifespan of the league.

What is this whole 2 days nonsense? Can't we just truncate it to an hour?

Hey, I'd love to get back to the regular season too. Although I think I am going to have to cut back on human opponents this year due to the new baby. I'm so tired right now.

I'll do my Week 3 recruiting tonight. I guess Week 4 recruiting is due Thursday night? I'm going to Baltimore tomorrow morning and won't be back until Thursday afternoon sometime.

But anyway, yeah, two days for a recruiting week is fine.
