RFL 2010 Scheduling Thread
Post in this thread if you want to schedule an out of conference human opponent or change one of your CPU opponents (although we don't have the schedules available yet, so this is just to get the ball rolling a bit as far as human vs. human goes).
With our new baby, I may be looking to skip my OOC human games this year. We usually play BC and ND, but I may beg off of those games for 2010. I'm getting way too little sleep as it is. As a reminder, in RFL, we prefer that you have at least 3 humans on the schedule. You are able to schedule 2 plus a preseason top 25 squad to meet the requirement, but 3 humans is preferred. Also, if everyone can try to schedule at least one of the better rated mid-tier conference teams (MWC, MAC, Conference USA, etc.) like TCU so we can avoid them reaching the BCS championship again, that'd be great. BigDPW, if we can work out the time and you have the inclination, I know I'd enjoy playing you.
Of course, I'll be playing my usual human games vs Galaxy and Bigsmooth. Edit: I'll also definitely make at least 1 of my OOC games against one of the better rated mid-tier conference teams.

The drawback of being in a conference all alone ... I may have to abandon my game with Illinois.
Ideally, I'd like to play the two humans and a top 25 (I want to payback Florida State for running up the score in the Fiesta Bowl) and a top team from a mid-tier conference. For the humans, I'm flexible. I'd prefer one at home and one away, and I'll commit to a future road game for whoever comes to Columbia. |

I think that ND-Michigan is locked to the week that is played.

Here are the game-generated schedules. Games with red text should be changed (league-wide bye in Week 1, no FCS opponents allowed). Games with a colored background count towards the 3 human (or 2 human/1 top 25) opponent requirement.

Wow that's a brutal schedule. Road games at clemson, BC, UGA, Va Tech, home games vs FSU/Miami. Alrighty then. I've got two human teams and about 17 top 25 teams, i'll keep this.

Fla vs Minn week 3? that would replace Hawaii week1 for me and his FCS team?
And week 2 replace Miami with any humans with FCS teams, or if USC wants to matchup 1vs2 from last year. And/or week13 vs Washington? Last edited by Mike1409 : 02-03-2009 at 01:06 AM. |

It's possible that home vs. away may not be right in some cases. I have a little trouble reading the TV screen from the desk where my computer sits. So feel free to double-check your schedule, if you'd like.

I should keep Illinois for a rivalry game but need to reschedule from week 1. I'll also take a highly-ranked mid-major in an open week. Anybody else looking for a home game? Missouri will go on the road. If not, I'll take Florida State at home. |

I'm down to do it, if Kodos can find a way. Maybe Move my South Carolina game? I mean, hell, I'd even take it off the schedule completely to make way for a game against Missouri.

Instead of FCS I'll take um, I dunno...U of Penn or something. Someone local and relatively easy to whomp on considering half of my games are against top 25 teams.

I have no idea how good Colorado State is. I'm willing to switch them to one of the mid majors that may go unbeaten.

Here's how I've summarized what people have posted so far. Let me know if I've got something wrong. I'm waiting for some guys to come in and confirm some of the proposed human games.
Clemson: Michigan in Week 2 (confirmed); at Missouri Week 14 (confirmed); at Washington Wk 13; re-add South Carolina if possible? Florida: Minnesota Week 3? Would replace Hawaii from Week 1; replace Miami with human (or replace FCS with humans); USC?; Week 13 vs. Washington? Georgia Tech: stay with game-generated schedule Michigan: Clemson in Week 2 (confirmed); highest ranked team available at Michigan in Week 4; Notre Dame after week 2; TCU on the road; Washington at Michigan?; Week 14 - Michigan goes to best mid-major Missouri: Would like to keeep Illinois if possible; mid-tier; host Florida State if no other humans want to play?; Clemson Week 14 (confirmed) Penn State: replace FCS with Penn? USC: Notre Dame, Washington; BigDPW?; remove Colorado State in favor of mid-major Washington: Clemson; at Michigan? |

I have Clemson in week 13 and Michigan in week 4. Maybe sub in a mid-major for week 3 who is better than Buffalo. Last edited by Bigsmooth : 02-03-2009 at 07:31 PM. |

Oh...actually I guess it's better if my FCS game is rescheduled against a mid-major team who could potentially be a BCS buster. I'm not really partial to who, plus I really have no idea who those teams are other than TCU. Whatever works...

I really would like to not play any RFL teams outside of the locked-in rivals this year. I need to figure out how to get this crappy program back on track.

With the losses of experience at some key positions, I'd rather not do that matchup in week 2. I'd love to meet them in the BCS National Championship though. I'm still very interested in a home and away with BigDPW if he wants it. |

Yeah, I'll play Florida. If you can switch my Week 14 Toledo game to be at Minnesota, I'll play Florida on the road.
I'm also willing to drop Florida Atlantic in Week 4 to play a potential BCS buster. I actually played FAU last season, I believe, and I don't really see the need to play them two years in a row.

I added Missouri at Clemson in Week 14. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to get South Carolina back on your schedule, so I gave you TCU at Clemson in Week 12. |

No wonder that I haven't gotten responses after multiple requests in RFL threads. I guess I got my leagues mixed up. In any case, things have been hectic during the week recently and I've had trouble getting my schedule to match up with multiple humans recently so I'll stick with our schedule and just replace Colorado State with a better midlevel major team if you think one is out there. |

Here's what I was able to get done before I had to stop this morning. Let me know if I've made any mistakes or if you don't like one of my changes. Games with a yellow background have some change from the original schedule.
Here are the original schedules as a reference: Last edited by Kodos : 02-05-2009 at 08:58 AM. |

Looks good to me...I'm guessing we all decided that Week 1 would be the leaguewide bye week for all human players?
