Any interest in a second, 3 star or less OD?

Just curious. I realize we can't even fill one OD, but I wouldn't mind running a second, smaller dynasty too.

Possibly. I think it would be cool if we could get about six teams in the real MAC.

I was thinking we could possibly use teambuilder teams, or relocate lower-tier teams in the MAC or C-USA. (Like, for instance, 2* Indiana). Basically, my goals are these: 1) Get to play with Indiana against humans who aren't controlling Top 25 teams; 2) Play outside of the Big Ten so I don't have too many overlapping opponents with the RFL; 3) Fill the down time between RFL games.

you know, I was thinking of a quickermoving, custom team league (especially now that the game allows you to set autopilot from the web, if you can't make a game)

I think the Big East would also be an option for this league, if we have about 6 owners.

I would love to join. A smaller, faster moving league would be great. I'd be up for having teambuilder or just low prestige teams. Either way works for me.

So here's who we have:

Kodos
Balldog
SirFozzie
cmp
Grammaticus

What about we can take any 3-star or less program and shove them in the Big East? Or would you rather use C-USA or the MAC? I know people had objections to non-BCS conferences in the RFL, which is why I suggested we use the Big East. The main advantage of the C-USA or MAC would be the chance for human vs. human games for the conference championship.

If guys want to have a Teambuilder team, you can use real 3-star or less team as a template, and recreate them as a fake team in Teambuilder. For example, I could create a fake team using Ohio University as the roster with fake names generated by Teambuilder (or yourself, if you're feeling industrious). No editing attributes, of course. You would also copy the school's recruiting pitch prestige level in each category.

Honestly, it might be easier for everyone to just use real teams, but if you want to go the Teambuilder route, that's good too.

So perhaps this isn't gonna get off the ground? I saw one guy mentioning he might get rid of the game in favor of NHL 2011. No follow-up replies from the other two...

I'm at a busy point, but I'll go with Um.. I think Boston College is 4*, so I might go with a TeamBuilder of 3 stars or less, if that's allowed?

That's allowed, yes. You mean take a 3-star roster and import it to a Teambuilder version of Boston College?

Actually, if we can have a teambuilder team I'd love to have one with Duke's roster and ratings. I have a few I am working on. It will either be the Allendale Falcons and Grand Valley Lakers.

Cool.

I accidentally deleted a bunch of my Teambuilder teams today. I was trying to get rid of 2010 versions, but was clicking on the delete buttons at the bottom of the teams directly above them. I'm an idiot.

Ok.. let me know when everyone's ready, and I'll form the dynasty (after grabbing the Teambuilder teams, make sure you mark the teams public)

Ok, this is what I have:

Kodos - Indiana
SirFozzie - Dean (Team Builder)
cmp - Allendale/Grand Valley (Team Builder) (Let me know when it's up and ready, so I can grab it!)
Grammaticus - Ole Miss

Are we moving into a conference, like the MAC?

I've Teambuildered Indiana to get uniforms like they had when I went there. No player ratings were changed, although I did change a few numbers, heights, and skin colors to get the crappy EA roster somewhat reflecting real life. (I also threw in a couple of jokey names for guys who don't seem to exist in real life. )

The conference doesn't really matter much to me. Since there are only 4 of us, why don't we just set up shop in the Big East? Although I'm fine with MAC or Conf USA too.

Also, since Ole Miss is 3 stars, why don't we set up the other three Teambuildered teams as 3 stars as well in Teambuilder? We'll also match Ole Miss recruiting pitch ratings breakdown, so each team can use:

1 A+
3 B+
4 B
3 C+

(Conference prestige, the 12th category, will default to the ratings of whichever conference we choose.)

Make sure to replace real-life IU with my Teambuildered IU so we don't get duplicates.

Edit: My teambuildered IU is done and ready whenever, SirFozzie.

One thought: Why don't we shorten quarters by a minute from RFL settings to help CPU teams compete with human players statswise?

I like the Big East for a conference. Also, are you going to use the most recent rosters from OS?

As much as my banishment from the RFL irks me, the thought of playing with San Jose State in an OD makes my spidey sense tingle.

hey Sun Tzu: Sorry, if you see the FOFCTB dynasty, we've already started. We can offer you one of the other Big East teams, but not San Jose State

What happens if EF27 wants to join the league? Do I have to leave?

Here's the short version:

In our 2009 ODs, EF27 had some issues with Sun Tzu's style of play. At that time, he said he would never play in another OD with Sun. Fast forward to a week or two ago. Sun inquired with me about joining the RFL. I said that since EF27 was already a member of RFL, I wouldn't allow Sun in (basically I gave preference to EF27, since he was already a part of the league). At that time, I mentioned a second league was forming and that Sun was welcome to join that one. However, he was apparently upset about not being able to join RFL, and declined my invitation. He said I was taking EF27's word over his. At that point, I decided it wasn't worth any more discussion, so I let it drop.

Sun can expand on my account as he likes.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Being accused of cheating by someone who, IMO, was just being a sore loser at the time, and then being permanently banished from any league that he's in for life...is a bit much. If you ask me. The accusation was that I was "nano-blitzing" which, even today, I'm not entirely sure what it is, or how to "do it." I loved playing in the RFL/NOFL, and thought (hoped) I would be accepted back. I guess I was wrong...major bummer.

For the record, I haven't taken a side as far as whether Sun cheated or not. I didn't see the game or the plays in question. My position was the guy who was already in the league gets the benefit of the doubt over the guy who wanted in after things started up. Since EF27 doesn't want to be in a league with Sun, and he's already in RFL, I decided the logical thing to do was not admit Sun to respect an existing owner's wishes.

I thought offering up the other league would be a nice way to get Sun in a league and keep EF27 happy at the same time. However, Sun didn't like being barred from RFL and complained about me taking sides. At which time I decided to just drop the issue.

Anyhow, I'm not the commish in this league, and it's not my choice either way as far as Sun goes.
