'kerndog recommended him to me I believe, and now I finally get around to listening to him and I am determined to go out and buy his cd.

Anyone else have any opinions of Rhett?

Very good songwriter, if you like the CD you should purchase the rest of the Old 97's catalog. He's gotten away from the alt country sound a little bit as his career has progressed but the seeds are still there in his music.

whatever happened to Brett Butler?

i mean, yeesh, the world is round, yet she still found a way to fall off the face of the map.

she was never able to corner the market on "not attractive women who you could envision banging with the right amount of liquor in your system". there's a niche out there that's left untapped. the woman who played Roseanne's sister on the show "Roseanne" is waiting by the phone.

Brett Butler was last seen playing CF for the Mets.

And the chick who played Roseannes sister is still around, doing guest shots on various sitcoms. I always found Brett Butler attractive, Blonde, Alcoholic, Big Jugs, thats my kind of girl.

Actually, she's alive & well and performing again. Just did at least a couple of shows at the Riveria (which is why I ran across a pretty good article on her getting back to work).

She's even got an occasional blog at

Brett Butler had big jugs? didn't she get implants? i don't remember them being that big. i remember not liking the sound of her voice.

I think she did have big jugs, I remember thinking they were big, she seemed to have a healthy frame.

And Shorty, if you liked the Rhett Miller album you may wanna pick up the Old 97's last album, Satelite Rides. It's a little more country than The Instigator but it's an excellent album in the same vein.
