More narrative would be fun. Like Rob Nielson gets caught in his trailer with Helen Wheels by his GF Hana Ginsberg. Hana breaks a bat over Nielsons head and he cant run in Talladega. While Ginsberg gets suspended for 2 races and Wheels is emotionally distraught and takes a week off.
Meanwhile, Bo and Luke Duke are arrested for transporting moonshine and Stroker Ace pulls a muscle in his should strokin' his ace. He is out for the race.

Too much?

Is Hana also an assassin?

Nielsen only hangs with top 10 points leaders anyway.

Only exception being his Danish cousin Magnus. Though until Magnus starts performing, he gets the Roasted Yak Racing "backup trailer". Also known as the mobile beer trailer. Dress warm, Magnus.

Talladega has started. I won't be able to do any updates until this one is over but here is the field bunched up on lap #3.

Race #1 of 15 - Geico 500 Results

Two major wrecks shaped this race as only 18 cars were able to make it to the finish. The first big wreck happened on lap 18 and knocked 12 cars out of the race but included many more. The pile up started right near the front of the pack as Kyle Kappe turned around the #21 of Rob Nielsen. Nielsen bounced off of Lew Sifford and down into Wheely McStephens starting a massive pileup.

The second of the major wrecks occurred on lap #44. Helen Wheels and Indy Wahl got together and set off another huge chain reaction crash that knocked out 10 cars including the points leader Rob Nielsen.

After those two wrecks things settled down for the most part and a 5 car breakaway that included Wallace Bryant, Blue Neckansack, Nile Kinnick, Aaron Kappe and Bo Danville battled it out for the win. Lapped traffic got in the way a bit as Bryant was able to hold off the others and collect the win after leading 27 laps on the day.

Event Details:

Weather: Clear, 64 F, South 10 mph
Laps: 188
Cautions: 4
Caution Laps: 16
Lead Changes: 101
Leaders: 20

Standings after Race #9 of 15

Only 1 more race left until the playoffs are set. Rob Nielsen, Bo Duke, David Ginsberg and Wheely McStephens have their playoff spots wrapped up and Aaron Kappe is close to a lock. The rest of the spots are still up for grabs and a bad day from anyone 6-10 can knock them out of the chase. Mustafa Henderson and Patrick Hutt currently have the wild card spots. If one of Henderson or Hutt gets into the top 10 and Stroker Ace stays in the top 10 as well Wallace Bryant or Red Neckanback could get themselves a spot in the playoffs.

I would like to thank everybody that was involved in either wreck, your efforts in beating each other up are much appreciated in helping me to a 14th place finish after I finished 34th in qualifying.

That was sure not the start Topper wanted but Dega is unpredictable. The 99 team is just hoping to get some experience and run for the championship next season.

Dang. That really hurt Hawk. He needs a huge finish in the next race.
Kinnick stays clean and finishes 4th. That keeps him from being relegated, I think.

Everyone's going to be safe this year. Won't start until after Season 2 and even then probably won't happen too much yet unless there are drivers in the Trucks who don't have drivers in Cup.

Ahhh Wheely finally got caught up in a wreck. Been pleasantly surprised at what he has done though. Looking forward to the next one and seeing where everybody falls. Lots of spots open. Should be a good race.

The final race before the playoffs will be quite interesting as we had to Iowa. Iowa is a 0.875 mile short track that should bring some close racing.

Race #10 of 15 - Mountain Dew 400 Results

Finally the playoffs are set after a very eventful afternoon at Iowa. On the pole for the second straight race it was Wallace Bryant looking to pick up #2 and get a spot in the playoffs. But it wasn't long at all before Wheely McStephens, starting from the 2nd spot, took the lead and dominated most of the day. Wheely took the lead from Bryant on lap 47 and led in total on the day 220 laps. But as happened to Wheely before, his car fell off a bit at the end and he ended up with a 3rd place finish. Patrick Hutt, already a two time winner this season took the lead with 17 laps to go and cruised to his 3rd victory on the season and secured his spot in the playoffs.

Now, how did the playoffs shake out? It was about as close as you could possibly imagine for that last playoff spot. Mustafa Henderson, who could into the playoffs based off his two wins, ended up tied for the final playoff spot with Ricky Anderson Jr. Based off Mustafa's two wins he gets the tiebreaker over Ricky and will start the playoffs with 6 extra points now based off his wins. If he had finished 11th he would have gotten no bonus points. Ricky ends up missing the playoffs in the most heartbreaking fashion and so did Benton Gale who finished in 12th, only 1 point behind Henderson and Anderson. With Hutt winning and getting into the top ten, and Henderson sneaking into the top ten, the two wild card spots then fell to Red Neckanback and Wallace Bryant. Neckanback and Bryant were the only two race winners not in the top ten.

A major wreck on lap 150 sent Bo Danville to the hospital for observation as he flipped up and over some cars during the pileup.

There may be some bad blood between the Nielsens tonight as on lap 252, Marcus Nielsen and Avery Thomas collided which sent Rob Nielsen sliding into the inside wall and ended his day early for the second straight race.

Cannon and the #80 team had a disappointing first ten races. 20th isn't exactly where I expected to be. Maybe we can get something figured out these final 5 and set us up for a good run next year that hopefully includes a playoff spot.

"Not good," was all Kellen Killinger, rookie driver of the #91 Mopar Dodge could say after his 42nd place finish in his debut race at the Iowa short track.

"I thought we brought a good car with us to Iowa today but I felt something break and I had to bring 'er in. I'm still not sure what happened but the car couldn't go anymore. But we'll be back next week and the #91 RPM Garages Mopar Dodge will give 'em hell at Atlanta."

His teammate at RPM Garages, Zack Topper, had a great run that ended up with a 10th place finish for the #99 Scott's Ford in only his second career race.

"I thought our day was done after that idiot Bushinhimer spun us out there on the backstrectch," said Topper referring to the crash that involved a whole mess of cars. "He spun us right out and gave us no room, he'll get what's coming to him. But the crew did a great job of making repairs and we still got a top 10 out of it."

RPM Garages head to Atlanta next week to take part in the QuikTrip 500.

Dang. Hawk was disappointing in those last 2 races. A solid playoff contender to way out of the running. Back to the drawing board.

Race #11 of 15 - QuikTrip 500 Results

It was a relatively quiet race to start off the Season 1 playoffs. Only two cautions on the day but one was for a four car crash on lap 285 that knocked out title contender Patrick Hutt from a top ten running and also knocked out Wallace Bryant

Early on it was Dexter Jackson and Wheely McStephens dominating the race, a few others led a lap or two here or there after them until David Ginsberg took control and looked to well on his way to the victory. That was until that final caution for the crash involving Hutt and Bryant bunched the field back up. Hawk Grey was able to pass Ginsberg soon after racing resumed and he never looked back, leading the race's final 35 laps on his way to victory.

Ginsberg was 2nd followed by fellow playoff participant Blue Neckansack. Stroker Ace was 4th and then Luke Duke, Mustafa Henderson and Wheely McStephens in 8th, 9th and 10th were the title contenders in the top 10. Aaron Kappe was 14th, Rob Nielsen 15th, Bo Duke 24th, Red Neckanback 31st, Patrick Hutt 39th and Wallace Bryant 41st.

Event Details:

Weather: Cloudy, 62 F, Northwest 4 mph
Laps: 325
Cautions: 2
Caution Laps: 8
Lead Changes: 22
Leaders: 12

Great day for Kellen and the #91 team. An 11th place finish this early into his racing career is awesome. Zach had an OK day. 19th place isn't amazing but RPM Garages will take it.

Race #12 of 15 - Federated Auto Parts 400 Results

Today's race looked it would belong to Kellen Killinger. The newcomer to the series who is driving the #91 Mopar Dodge took the pole and jumped out to a big lead early. But as the first long green flag went on his car began to fade and he relinquished the lead to Rob Nielsen, who after leading for 42 laps gave up the lead to Chaci Bonaparte who led for 48 laps. After a caution on lap 112 for an accident that involved 8 cars, including title contending teammates Red Neckanback and Blue Necksansack, the field was bunched back up and Killinger quickly moved himself back up the front where he would stay for a while until his car began to fade on the long run again and Bo Duke took over as the new leader. A 5 car accident on lap 228 would knock out playoff driver Aaron Kappe, Mustafa Henderson and Stroker Ace and bunch the field back up again. This time Killinger jumped out to another big lead again as he passed Duke right after the restart and he would stay there until there was only 8 laps left. And yet again, his crew was unable to figure out the long runs as his car faded and Rex D'Car made the pass to take the lead and the win, his first and the first for Tire Barrier bRacing.

Killinger was 2nd followed by playoff driver Bo Duke in 3rd, Ricky Anderson Jr in 4th and Chaci Bonaparte in 5th. Chaci now has 3 top 10's in the past 4 races. Rob Nielsen was 8th, Wallace Bryant 9th, Wheely McStephens battled back after he found himself running in the 30's for the race's first half and wound up 13th. David Ginsberg was 16th, Luke Duke 20th, Patrick Hutt 21st, Aaron Kappe 31st, Mustafa Henderson 33rd, Stroker Ace 34th, Red Neckanback 35th and Blue Neckansack 42nd.
