Quick on the fly thoughts on teams so far:

TroyF: Trout and Benitendi may someday soon be the best two outfielders in the game, which is a great base. Terrific group of young hurlers.

cubboyroy: A lot of power in this lineup so far, led by Bryant, Encarnacion and Sano. Good spread of quality throughout roster.

cmpdodgers: Seager and Bregman make for a very talented, young left side of the infield, and Betts makes a trio of top notch super stud kids. One of two rosters with two closers already. Steady veteran pitching.

Zinto: Very deep and talented lineup, mixing young (Schwarber, Altuve, Diaz) with rock solid vets (Miggy, Votto, Joey Bats).

Ramzavail: The commish's team strength is in the rotation, with Kershaw, Sanchez and Greinke. He also has two closers, and a lineup featuring power and young quality.

claphamsa: Clap has gone in heavy on his rotation so far, with five #1/#2 types. The lineup is anchored by Machado.

heybrad: Heybrad's strength is on the corners with Rizzo and Arenado, and in a strong rotation led by Arrietta. I'll pretend I don't hate heybrad a little for picking Segura one spot ahead of me.

Chief Rum: Everyone should just quit now, looking at this team.

In all seriousness, it is clear I went with building my lineup first. I probably am erring too far on the prospect/unproven side, but it is a pretty great lineup so far.

It's funny how drafts work. My plan was NOT to draft a zillion OF. My plan was NOT to go after a team full of 24 year olds. But when the picks came to me, the veterans I've wanted have been picked one or two spots before me. For example, the last round, I would have taken Joey Bats. Once he goes I reevaluate and look at Buxton and see the potential for stolen bases/power and go with potential.

I may regret not drafting more pitching early. I also may regret not getting enough veterans if all of the kids struggle. (benintendi, manea, contreras, buxton) Overall, having a great time though. Really enjoying seeing how the other teams are coming together as well.

The pattern for me in every fantasy league I do is that I'm thrilled with my team through the draft and then the season makes it clear what a horrible draft it really was. Having not done any fantasy leagues in a while though, I'm having fun as hell just drafting!

If it makes you feel any better, I was looking at Buxton myself.
