PT Games - Help Wanted

PT Games LLC is hiring for its first foray into computer sports games.
We are developing a multi-platform American Football game using our popular PTG Football Engine but with so much more to offer.
A career simulation game, the user will take on the role of Coach/GM and lead a team or play a single-season replay.
The game is being designed for mobile, PC, Mac, and Linux.

GUI Designer:
Experience with Qt Designer (for Qt 5) and/or graphic web design
with HTML and CSS wanted; both preferred. Experience with Python 3 GUI
programming is helpful. The work will involve designing a graphical user
interface for a football game program, using the PySide 2 Python bindings for
Qt 5 as the GUI engine, and will include exploring both Qt Designer and
HTML/CSS as possible frameworks.

Data Collection/Out of Game Processes:
Experience with Python 3 programming wanted, particularly in web scraping and translation of data among various formats. Fluency with Excel spreadsheets is helpful. The work will involve
collecting and collating data from various sources and putting it into the appropriate format for use by a football game simulation engine. The work will also involve writing Python code to support out of game "general manager" processes, such as scouting, drafting players, and trading players,
as a module of the overall football game program.

Excel Expert:
We are looking for someone to help organize and automate the gathering, conversion, and dissemination of data for a new computer sports game.
The job will require extensive knowledge of HTML, Excel macros, workflows, data gathering, conversion to CSV format, and web scraping.
An understanding of Python 3 is helpful but not required.
Excel and MS Office knowledge must be current with Office 365.
The game is multi-platform for Mobile, PC, Linux, and Mac so knowledge across platforms for database management and data design is also helpful.

All work will be remote with no guarantee of long-term employment. But this is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor.

PT Games, Inc. was founded by Peter Donis and Tim Plum. Both of the founders have more than 30 years of experience with fantasy roleplaying games–mainly, though not exclusively, with D&D.

In 2009, Tim decided to add FaceOff Hockey to the mix and PT Games interest in sports publishing was born.
In 2012, We added 3 new games to the site. Basketball Bones, Football Bones, and Hockey Bones.
In 2019, Solo Football was added to the lineup.
In 2020, PT Games begins to develop their first computer game, PT Games Football.

Responsibilities for Graphic Designer
Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
Design and develop software applications using HTML4/5(Bootstrap); XML; and CSS2/3
Participate in architectural discussions
Design and implement front-end game applications
Work with software development team
Experience designing interactive applications.
Ability to document requirements and specifications.
Qualifications for Graphic Designer
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and the web
Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
Experience with Python 3 GUI programming helpful but not required.
Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other graphic design software
Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
Strong analytical skills

A brief overview of the game under development:

In PTG Football (working title), you will take on the role of general manager and if you want the head coach. You will determine your team's present and future off the field through trading players, signing players, bidding for free agents, and building through the amateur draft.
You can also take on the role of the head coach, setting game plans and depth charts, or even calling each play from an extensive playbook.
PTG Football will include a multi-player career mode to compete in a league with friends.
In PTG Football, you will control your team in two crucial areas:
1. On the field: Playcalling, setting depth charts, and trying to outsmart a human or computer opponent, extensive playbooks, and in-game decision making.
2. Off the field: You will act as the General Manager. Scouting draft picks, drafting college players, scouting, and signing free agents. You need to control salary and staff costs while balancing the owner expectations.

We are building from our appreciation of FOF, DDS:PB and most importantly our own game engine.
The PTG Football game engine has been designed from 30+ years of board and computer game experience.
PTG Football won't be a button-masher, it will be a career/single game/single season engine with realistic results and players that go beyond numbers on a spreadsheet.
