Madden 25

So who is in this year? I havent bought a Madden game in 3 or 4 years now. I have only been buying NCAA, but this year I will be going pro. I really enjoyed the last time madden had the dynasty mode and I'm hoping that it will be improved from last time. Hoping for something along the line of the head coach series they did.

Sounds like a decent offer but reading though the fine print I won't be able to get it on my TV for free and likely won't be able to get it on the computer if I have a directv account already. I am reading this correctly?

If you have DirecTV, but are not a Sunday Ticket subscriber, you still can watch it on a computer/mobile device.

Amazon.com - Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition

You can use the included code to access NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet, and mobile devices.

Cool. I usually call and haggle em down to like $150-$200 but if I can get a game I was going to order anyways and pay about $40 more for computer access that may be the route I will go. Though there usually is a thread that tells how different members are haggling them down with pointers and suggestions on what to say. (Off to go bump that thread right now! )

Last year I bought Madden, then NBA 2k came out like a month later and I traded it in. Madden's issues with me are the same and I'm sure they always will be. Find the certain plays that work everytime and it's over. Skewed statistics don't help, either. From way too many tackles for my players, to leading the league in receiving yards. Let's just say let's go FOF

This'll be my first Madden purchase in 3 years. And I didn't really play that more than a few times. Basically, next gen Madden has been a total bust for me.

If there is a true coach mode and spectator mode and I can coach against my friends online in career mode, then I will pick it up.

Unlikely for me.

Nothing to do with the game.

My reasons:

1) GTA5
2) New consoles. By the time I'm done with GTA5, I'll be making the decision on a new console. If it is a yes, the last thing I'll want to do is buy things for the old one. If it is a no, I'll consider it based off of reviews and the like.
3) NCAA 14 is very likely going to be enough for my arcade football needs this year.
4) By the time I am in decision making mode, FOF will be out.
5) Last thing. . . I haven't been a huge NHL player over the last few year even with the great reviews. But having a classic '94 version with the game? I'm sorry, but I'm in.

All those things combined mean I am very unlikely to purchase Madden this year.

I don't really think you need to get to #5 to make that decision, but it seems like the "classic" mode is just going to be blue ice and simpler controls. Everything else appears to be the same as the current-gen versions.

Been playing around with Madden '12 lately and it plays a pretty good game of football with the right sliders. But, I pick up Madden every year and this year will be no different.

I'm on the silver account, so I have to wait another week. Almost broke down and bought a 1 month subscription just to download the demo.

Demo seems solid, plays a little faster than NCAA I think. The graphics are impressive but I'll be holding off for the XBox One version because there does seem to be a significant upgrade in regards to the graphics between the two.

Play-wise, I think its pretty solid. I am very intrigued though about the owner mode for on-line play.

I called a play and there was 10 players on each side of the ball. The icon for 11 on each were there, but the player was missing. Naturally when I threw to him it was incomplete.

If you buy current gen madden, you can trade it into GameStop for $50 credit towards next gen Madden.

Thanks. I was going to just wait for Next Gen (Xbox), but that is a good enough deal that I will get current gen to hold me over.

What a horrible camera angle.. I know there will be a bunch in the release but I can't stand the demo one.

Doesn't do much for me.. but Madden hasn't in a very long time. I'll check out next gen.

With NCAA, I doubt I'd play Madden much with what I've seen from the demo... that and hopefully a FOF7 coming out.

It just boggles the mind how many easy bugs go unfixed every year and so many people still run out and buy this new. My friend and I keep trying to find ways to enjoy madden 13, but we keep finding shit out like when we play connected careers as specific players, the game has no idea how to handle simulation of the plays that occur when we aren't on the field. We often find our team has a time of possession of about half our opponent, or vice versa depending on which side of the ball we play on. When playing as linebackers, I noticed the game doesn't track catches allowed at all. Not in this mode anyway.

It is really a bad game considering the last generation actually had fully functional and fairly high quality games coming out toward the end of its run. You'd think patching on upgraded graphics and keeping the same damn engine and game in place would have been a good start. It all makes me wish there were about 100 Jim Gindins over at EA handling this shit.

The 09 version for the original XBox was outstanding.

I wonder endlessly why I cannot put the camera wherever the fuck I want to. Does that take more computing power or something? I mean its all being played on the same field in the same 3D environment, so why the hell can't I just put the camera wherever?

Maybe they will have that option in the final release.. not the best decision to put one crappy camera in the demo however.

I gave up on Madden 12 and asked my wife to stop buying them for me for my birthday when I could not follow the flight of the ball on a pass due to the camera angle.

Yes, for whatever reason, THAT was the issue that pushed me over the brink.

Cant cover a shadow!

But seriously, the fact that this stuff makes it through whatever kind of testing they put the game through shows that they couldn't care less about the overall quality of their product. There's this, the inability of the game to track some stats properly when you actually play the games, the broken super-sim mode, the terrible computer A.I..

I would gladly buy a game from 2K if they would just release one with fake rosters and generic teams with the ability for users to edit and upload uniforms and rosters. Hell, I might even play with the fake rosters and generic teams. Anything to give me a better football experience than the facade called Madden.

I remember 7 or 8 years ago I used to take a half day from work the day Madden was released so I could pick it up and play all afternoon. It has been a while since I've done that.

That said, I actually pre-ordered it this year, but that was just to get the direct tv deal so I can get Sunday ticket. I'll give the game a shot since I bought it, but I don't even know what the new features are this year. This series is in desperate need of some competition.
