I'm guessing tomato meter. I have a few pre-2000 (Tommy Boy being one), but I'm betting they put that in place because the reviews before 2000 on RT are a little more scattershot and harder to get so may not accurately reflect critical consensus.

I figured dumb comedies would be the way to go for this, and yes, the David Wain/MTV's The State cast member movies mostly get horrible reviews and I love them all - Wet Hot American Summer (36%), The Ten (36%), The Baxter (32%), Reno 911 Miami (34%)

If by tomato meter alone then I will say I liked the Death Wish reboot with Bruce Willis. Terrible tomato score but a good audience score.

The Box, with Cameron Diaz and Frank Langella, adaptation of short story and Twilight Zone episode "Button, Button". I thought it was batshit crazy in a good way. People do not agree.
Wilson with Woody Harrelson squeaks in at 48%. I liked it.

I vote for Alien Resurrection, although technically it was '97 and got a 56 tomato score. I really enjoyed it, even if it pales in comparison to Alien and Aliens.

I gotta think the most challenging part of this for me will be the post-2000 movie aspect
(I'll update with the outcome) Took me all of three tries: Talk Radio was way too old (1988) Meet The Robinsons scores surprisingly well (like around 70% fresh I think) Third try was the charm: Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief, 49% fresh (and just 53% audience)

I think Wet Hot American Summer comes closest for me... but I don't know if I like it enough. I mean I probably wouldn't watch it if I randomly stumbled on it flipping channels, but I thought it amusing when I first saw it.
Also surprised by how many dumb comedies have high scores - 40 Year Old Virgin (85%), Dodgeball (70%), The Hangover (78%), Anchorman (66%), Anchorman 2 (74% !!). edit: Holy crap, Borat is 91% on RT!

Tears of the Sun 33%
Its somewhat old and worn now, the novelty has passed. It was one of the earlier SEAL war movies that I thought was pretty authentic. Watch it whenever I catch it flipping channels. Tears of the Sun (2003) - Rotten Tomatoes Armageddon 38% (Okay, it came out in 1998 so close enough) Armageddon (1998) - Rotten Tomatoes Bruce - you won't win any major movie awards but I've watched you since Moonlighting. Appreciate all the great and not so great movies. |

One I like is The Replacements (2000) which is a 41%, it was a really solid sports movie in my mind, and Keanu actually did a really good acting job in my opinion.

Only one listed in the post-2000 set that I liked was National Treasure so far. I'm like a couple others though - I don't like the direction movies have gone in general so I rarely go to the theatre and when I do my opinions are typically a minority. More on the opposite side from this challenge though - I don't like movies that others do.

The Rock makes a lot of these movies. “Faster” for example. Snitch is slightly over 50%. I’m guessing Mark Wahlberg has stuff like Contraband on this list. Proof of Life(mid 40%) from Russell Crow has its moments. Battleship is probably under 50%.

The Heartbreak Kid, 2007 version, not the original with Charles Grodin. There are a lot of scenes that miss, and some graphical sex scenes, but I still find myself coming back for laughs years later.

Just a funny movie. I really like this one. Its a great nod the TV series. Love Final Destination and own all 3. The Heartbreak kid is my favorite Ben Stiler movie.

It has a really great ensemble cast based on a Dave Barry(remember him?) novel. Not to mention a young Sofia Vergara in her first movie!
