Figures. I just realized I screwed up my rotation. I had intended to start Sanchez in Game 1. Way to go, Matt. It's amazing how you F yourself up so regularly.

RLCS game 2:

Vicente Betancourt pitches for Hammersmith vs Oliver Hernandez for Colorado

Colorado scores 2 in the 1st and 2 more in the third for an early 4-0 lead. Hammersmith responds in the 4th with 5 runs to take the lead, and they add an additional 2 insurance runs in the 6th inning for a 7-4 lead!

Just when it appears that the Hooligans have this one wrapped up, Colorado comes back with a RBI pinch hit double from Joe Jacobs and a RBI single from Miguel Fontanez in the bottom of the 8th to cut their deficit to just 1.

Entering the 9th, Colorado still trails 7-6 however...

Hammersmith is unable to score in the 9th, and they keep de Jager in to pitch the bottom of the 9th to try to close out the game for them.

de Jager is not sharp however as he hits Ledrew to put the first runner on base. Venagas follows for Colorado by reaching base thanks to an error by the Hammersmith second baseman.

With two on and no outs, Ortega flies out, but then de Jager hits Cunningham with a pitch, the second hit batter of the inning to load the bases with just 1 out.

Fontanez now steps up to the plate for Colorado, a chance to be a hero... but he does not have to put the ball in play, de Jager walks him to walk in the tying run! The game is now tied 7-7!

Hawkins now up to bat for Colorado with the bases still loaded and 1 out. Hammersmith is obviously looking for a double play ball here... de Jager is all over the place though.. he throws a ball... then another ball... The 2-0 pitch.. ... oh man that one is way over the catcher's head.. . to the backstop, and no chance to get Venagas, he scores easily on the wild pitch.. Colorado Wins!!

Colorado scores 2 runs on 0 hits, 1 walk, 1 error, 1 wild pitch and 2 hit batters to come from behind in this one!

Colorado 8, Hammersmith 7

Spoiler

Colorado leads the series 2 games to 0

CLCS game 3:

Kent Davies pitches for Baltimore vs Bob Keir for Tokyo

Tokyo scores 1 in the first, but Baltimore ties it up in the 3rd. The Charm take the lead in the 4th with 2 additional runs, but a RBI single from the pitcher Keir himself, and then a RBI double from Jorge Ramirez score 3 runs for the Cyclones. That ends up being the game winner as Keir gives up 10 hits over 7 innings, but only allows those 3 runs to cross the plate to get the win.

Tokyo 4, Baltimore 3

Tokyo leads the series 2 games to 1

Baltimore gets another run back in the 5th, but Tokyo is too strong putting another run across in the 6th and 7th innings, along with 2 more in the 8th.

Gilbert pitches for Colorado (1-0 3.38 ERA)
vs
Holmes for Hammersmith (0-1 5.40 ERA)

Holmes came up huge in the postseason last year as a rookie. Once again the home crowd Hooligan fans are counting on him to come up big here and keep their three-peat hopes alive.

The Hammersmith bats help the young pitcher with 6 runs in the second inning for a huge lead. They add an insurance run in the 5th and that is all Holmes needs. He pitches a complete game 8-hit Shutout to keep Hammersmith's season alive!

Hammersmith 7, Colorado 0

This is the first ever meeting between these two franchises!

Tokyo returns to the FOOL Classic for the first time since 2031, when they won it all. Colorado last won the FOOL Championship in 2036 and have made the Classic once since then as well. (2042)

Harden pitches a gem, striking out 8 in a 2-hit shutout as Colorado carries a 2-0 lead through the majority of the game..... however he runs out of steam in the 6th inning, after only 95 pitches.

Jeremy Bandelow enters the game in the top of the 9th to try to close out the game for the Rancheros, but he ends up giving up a 2-Run Home Run to Eduardo Velez to tie the game up for Tokyo!

Colorado is unable to score in the bottom of the 9th so we head to extra innings.

Tokyo scores another run in the 10th on a Richie Hankins RBI single to take the 3-2 lead. Colorado refuses to go down without a fight however, getting a RBI single from Ledrew and another RBI single from Cunningham to win the game in the bottom of the 10th.

Colorado 4, Tokyo 3 (10 innings)

Tokyo jumps to the lead early, putting up 2 in the 1st and another in the 2nd. Colorado gets 1 back in the third, but the Cyclones poor on more runs, two more in the 5th and 2 more in the 7th to go up 7-1.

Right when the Rancheros fans started heading for an early exit, Colorado puts them back in their seats with 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th, including a 3-Run Home run from Antonio Venagas to cut the Tokyo lead down to 7-5.

Tokyo is unable to add any insurance runs in the top of the 9th, so the Rancheros still trail by 2 entering the bottom of the 9th...

Cunningham starts it off with a solo home run, but that is all the Rancheros can muster as the final out of the game is thrown out trying to tag up from first on a fly out to left field.

Luis Beltran goes a perfect 3 for 3 with two home runs, 4 RBI and 2 walks in the win for the Cyclones.

Tokyo 7, Colorado 6

The FOOL Classic is tied up at 1 a piece.

Keir pitches 8 innings of 6-hit shutout baseball while hernandez pitches 8 innings of 3 hit shutout ball for Colorado. Entering the 9th inning, the game is still tied 0-0!

Kevin Baty enters the game to pitch for Tokyo and he ends up walking two and giving up a single to load the bases. A Wild pitch allows Wan-fang Ling to cross the plate for the first run of the game and a 1-0 Colorado lead entering the bottom of the 9th inning.

Jeremy Bandelow enters to try to close out the game for the Rancheros. He gets one out before giving up a walk and then a RBI double to Victor Vega to tie up the game 1-1!

Tokyo is unable to get any further runs and we head to extra innings.

Jim Hawkins hits a Solo home run for Colorado in the top of the 10th to give them the lead once again, but Manuel Pagan ties it back up with a RBI single in the bottom of the 10th.

Neither team score in the 11th, and it is finally the 12th that the tie is broken for good with another Manuel Pagan RBI, but this time a 2-Run walk off home run!

Tokyo 4, Colorado 2 (12 innings)

Once again Harden is unable to make it past 6 innings, but this time he gets a few extra runs of support as the Rancheros put up 4 in the 1st, 3 in the third and 3 more in the 4th for a 10-2 lead which is more than enough to hang on to this game.

Domingo Gaona is the star of the day for Colorado as he goes 3 for 4 with a HR, 3 RBI and walk in the Rancheros win.

Colorado gets 3 in the fourth inning and another in the 5th for a 4-0 lead. Corcoran pitches well, going 7.1 innings before he runs into a little bit of a problem in the 8th inning.

Eduardo Velez hits an RBI single that scores 2 while Carrasco follows with a RBI single of his own to help cut their deficit to just one.

Tokyo goes down 1-2-3 in the 9th however and are unable to finish their comeback.

Gilbert "only" gives up 5 runs in 7.2 innings to help lower his postseason ERA to 9.12, but he still trails 5-4 in this one thanks to a Manuel Pagan GRAND SLAM Home Run in the top of the 4th in this one.

Colorado finally gets to Keir in the 7th however when Domingo Gaona hits a 3-run Home run to right field that ends up being the game winner.

Tokyo goes up 5-0 after four thanks to 2 runs in the 1st, 2 more in the third and another run in the 4th. Colorado responds with 5 runs of their own in the 5th to tie the game back up 5-5!

Tokyo decides that they aren't quite ready to go golfing yet as they score 12 runs in the 7th inning, including a Luis Beltran GRAND SLAM Home Run to take a 17-5 lead which will easily be enough to win this one and force a deciding game 9!

In a game that has 32 hits combined between the two teams, Jorge Ramirez stands out after going 4 for 5 with a double, Home run and 2 RBI in the win for Tokyo.

Tokyo 17, Colorado 6

The FOOL Classic is tied up 4-4!

Tokyo goes up 3-1 after 2 innings, 5-2 after 5 innings and 8-2 after 7 innings to make this game no where near as close as the home crowd Ranchero fans were hoping.

Manuel Pagan goes 3 for 6 with a double, HR and 4 RBI for Tokyo while Aitken pitches 6.2 innings, giving up just 1 earned run on 3 hits to seal the victory for the Cyclones.

Tokyo 10, Colorado 3

Wow that was great! I was hoping Harden would prove me wrong again, or that Hernandez, my newly acquired pitcher, would seal the deal for us, but it wasn't meant to be. Congrats Kevin!
