NOFL: Season 2 Week 2 Has Begun! Deadline is 12/2/08 at 10:00 PM
Week 2 features several more human matchups including Sun Tzu's Stanford Cardinal at BigDPW's NCState. Also, we have RA's Oklahoma State traveling to play WVUFan's Arkansas. With the Thanksgiving break being upon us, I allocated 2 extra days, and I'm hopeful that will be enough time for everyone to get their game in.

SunTzu, I should be available tonight if you want to try and play tonight. Otherwise it may be Friday or the Weekend. Plus you should be aware that my wife may go into labor anytime so if I no show on you whenever we set up a time that is the reason... Let me know what your availability is...

Good luck breaking LB Shaun Mohler's NOFL-record for longest interception return:
What started out as a 13-13 battle between CU and CSU after one quarter turned into a 65-29 bloodbath once CSU started turning over the ball. We picked off four passes, returning three for TDs. Otherwise a sloppy defensive effort on both sides. Last edited by kcchief19 : 11-26-2008 at 07:00 PM. |

We took Akron 38-31 in double OT. Our new offense got off to a slow start with junior QB Welsey Carroll throwing 2 picks early in the game. However, he got in his rhythm and finished the day with these stats: 30-49, 247 yards, 4 TDs, 2 Ints and a rating of 122.3. Our three freshmen receivers had very nice day views:
Corey Rust-7 catches, 88 yards, 1 TD Kyle Miller-5 catches, 64 yards Mario Burns-4 catches, 37 yards, 1 TD And our top receiver, a returning upperclassmen, Brian McRae, caught 3 passes for 30 yards and 1 touchdown. Also to note, we still having a running game. Speedster Christian Deuce had 85 yards on 18 carries, and caught a touchdown pass in overtime. Last edited by Galaxy : 11-28-2008 at 11:13 AM. |

Well, I still can't defend the freaking spread. Utah put 44 up on me - I think I stopped them the first possession of the game and on 2 INT's. Other than that they scored every time. The game against EF27 should be fun this year
Thankfully, Canfield had a monster day (5 TD's, 0 INT's), we put in 3 on the ground and won something liek 59-44. |

I'm in San Diego with the In-Laws thru very late Sunday evening. I'm available pretty much all day Monday, and Tuesday after 4:30 pacific time. Monday daytime/early afternoon is ideal, but if we have to push it until Tuesday evening then so be it. Let me know what works for you.

I may be available Monday evening or Tuesday but will be back at work starting Monday and will probably be working pretty late. About the earliest I will be available would be 8:00 pm EST or later each day. Plus as I mentioned above any day now my wife may go into labor. Shame you are out of town and I am free as a bird for more than a day or so for the first time since September... |

I'm hoping it won't be necessary with the long week, but I will extend the deadline 1 day if necessary for human teams to play each other as that is a major point of the online dynasties.

Kentucky just beat Bowling Green 62-23. Our offense had many big plays in the first half and we pretty much coasted in the 2nd half. Our offense is still WAY too inconsistent. It won't cost us against Louisville/Bowling Green/etc, but it will cost us against Georgia/Florida/human opponents. We have 1 more game against Vanderbilt before the murderous Georgia & Florida back-to-back (!!!) games. Hopefully we can make it through that. I've been experimenting quite a bit with the offense and it's definitely a different looking team than the championship one from a year ago. Our QB definitely has some skills but he has some work to do before we can compete for the conference title.
Our defense is improved but had several awful plays in this game. The only 3 TD's that BG scored were all of plays of 60 yards or more. And on all of them their ball-carrier avoided at least two tackles. It was awful. We need to shore that up if we want to win the (many) upcoming big games we have. 2 human vs human games left and then EF27's game vs Boise State. Good luck to all |

Terrible game for my Huskies with Locker throwing 4 picks (3 in the 1st half.) Despite those many turnovers, we barely scrape by Boise State with a 35-28 win. Locker had 3 TD's passing and 1 more rushing and Hasty had a solid 100 yard game.

I really think RA should get the game play if need be. This is two weeks in a row, and RA has made every public effort to contact him

seconded. If WVUfan says he can play anytime after 8pm most days, but it winds up being this difficult to track him down, I don't see why the game should be simmed.

I already sent RA a PM yesterday telling him this exact same thing. I'm willing to set WVUFan's team to Autopilot at this point if RA wants to play tonight or even extend the deadline to tomorrow to let him play as he has gone to great lengths to schedule this game. |

I might be mistaken, but I'm fairly sure WVUFan was never in the RFL (or any other leagues for that matter.) Edit: I see you in the thread, RA. Just let me know if you want to play vs the CPU.

Played WVU tonight and we got it on! Oklahoma State squeaked by 59-56 in a great shootout. The lag got to both of us and there was little defense other than a few defensive touchdowns. Great game and I'll be looking for you online!

BTW, I understand he was busy this week and he called me tonight to get the game going. We got it in by the deadline, so no harm no foul.
Maybe I'd think otherwise if I had lost. |

Between a newborn and family issues, my "free time" wasn't really all that free this week. Most weeks, though, I should be able to play.
First opportunity I had to play, I contacted RA to do so. Great, great game, RA. Best of luck on the rest of the season!

BigDPW and I played out game this evening. All I'm going to say is this. Whatever shred of respect I had for BigDPW before this game, increased immensely by the time it was over.

I hope that is a compliment... It was a very good game and very well played by both teams... Stanford jumped out with 7 on its first drive and picked me off in my end on my first possession leading to a FG. He was up 10-0 before I blinked and I really thought it was going to be a snoozer. Fought my way back by turning him over in his end and got 7 from it followed by a safety where he rolled out a little in the endzone after a coffin corner punt and my guy just happened to be there. Probably one of like 3 plays I actually got pressure on the entire game. From there we were back and forth with me finally taking the lead late in the game after picking him off about 4 times I think (I think I threw 4 as well). Basically my offense amounted to a couple of long bombs down the sideline one of which was a critical on down by a couple with 1:20 left from my own 30 yd line. My backup QB heaved one down the sideline and my WR came up with it around the 20 and stumbled and fought off a couple tackles to end up on the 4 yd line. I ran the ball a couple times and ended up punching it in with a few ticks left. On the second play of the final drive with time going away I was able to come up with a pick that sealed it. GREAT GAME and even if I would have lost I would have enjoyed it alot. SunTzu was a great sport the entire game. I appreciate the great game and hope that my other human games are this much fun too.
