This is Chicago's first post-season appearance in ten years. It's the first post-season appearance for Columbus in franchise history (9 yrs) and the 4th straight time Cuyahoga has advanced to the post-season. For Gettysburg, it's the 3rd time in 4 years, while Kauai returns for just the 2nd time in franchise history, the first time was seven years ago when they won their only title. Memphis is back in the playoffs after an eight year drought and the Grays make their sixth straight playoff appearance and hope to break their streak of five straight NLCS losses. Winnemucca makes their 11th straight post-season appearance and St. Louis looks to defend their title, something no team since the 1856-58 Winnemucca Choo-Choos have done.

In those preliminary series, it was interesting. You had a young Kauai team taking a young Columbus pitching staff to the limit and a veteran battle between Gettysburg and Washington. In the AL, Chicago has always had the talent but never could get here and Winnemucca looks to do what they always do -- win, after getting past a veteran team in Memphis that ran out of steam.

AL: Winnemucca 19, Chicago 3 (WIN wins series 3-1)

So with that, the Crusaders make their first appearance in the NLCS, ending the Grays streak of five straight NLCS appearances. Winnemucca returns to the ALCS in an attempt to claim their record 7th AL pennant.

So with that, both top seeds advance to the big dance. For Brooklyn, it's their 5th NL pennant, but the 1st time in 11 years that they've been in the Series.

For St. Louis, it's the 3rd AL pennant in four years. The last team to win consecutive league pennants was Lake Tahoe in '59-'60.

Congrats to the Titans who claim their 3rd title in franchise history. This ties them with San Diego, Chicago, Memphis and Carolina for 2nd most in SLOP history behind Winnemucca's 5.

There was a case for Bill Powell winning his 6th Pitcher of the Year award, but...I felt like McCann was dominant all year and none of the other hurlers were as dominant, so it was more about his individual performance.

Plus your bullpen was one of the worst statistically in the NL, so the fact that he managed a sub 2.00 ERA and over 50 saves basically means without him you'd have been a lot worse.

As far as MVP, the game seemed to think you had the 1-2-3 for that award.

Also, thanks to Brooklyn preventing the St. Louis repeat, we have 8 straight years of different teams winning the Series.
