CL Honors 2153 Best Fielder Awards Winners
Friday, November 16th, 2153: It's been said that the best offense is a good defense. That's why contending teams are always looking to improve on the defensive side of the game. Keeping runs from scoring is just as good as driving them in. The top fielders have been chosen in the Continental League for 2153. Here are the Best Fielder Awards winners: Pitcher: Pedro Pérez (Brooklyn Brownstones) Catcher: Carlos Ruíz (Baltimore Gothams) First Baseman: Richard Taft (Baltimore Gothams) Second Baseman: Harry Fish (Halifax Winter Wolves) Third Baseman: Arnold Casey (Cleveland Cyclones) Shortstop: Pedro Martínez (Brooklyn Brownstones) Left Fielder: Octávio Mendoza (Halifax Winter Wolves) Center Fielder: Dave Dean (Baltimore Gothams) Right Fielder: Jesús Molina (Baltimore Gothams) Year's Best Gloves Selected by Republic League Friday, November 16th, 2153: What does it take to win a Best Fielder Awards? It's a combination of good hands, knowing how to play the hitters, all-out hustle and a willingness to sacrifice your body to make a play. Good speed and a good arm never hurt, either, but not always required. This year's all-defense team in the Republic League consists of: Pitcher: Mark May (Los Angeles Bruins) Catcher: Gerardo Torrez (Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines) First Baseman: Jake Simpson (Colorado Rancheros) Second Baseman: John Henderson (Los Angeles Bruins) Third Baseman: Finley Dyke (Hartford Harpooners) Shortstop: Doyle Eddy (Los Angeles Bruins) Left Fielder: Yoshimatsu Miyazaki (Hammersmith Hooligans) Center Fielder: Cole Miller (Colorado Rancheros) Right Fielder: Derek Leask (Toronto Marlboros)

2153 CL Best Batter, Baltimore's McCromley
Tuesday, November 20th, 2153: It was a season to remember for Bill McCromley. He was one of the most dangerous men in the league when he had a bat in his hand, and the Continental League announced today that he has won the Hideaki Tanaka Award for 2153. The Baltimore left fielder dominated opposing pitchers with a .325 batting average, 31 doubles, 6 triples, 33 home runs and 130 RBIs while compiling a .439 on-base percentage and scoring 148 runs. Hartford's Nelson Takes 2153 Hideaki Tanaka Award Tuesday, November 20th, 2153: What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2153 Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Republic League. It had already been a very special season for Hartford's Larry Nelson, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake. All season long Larry Nelson gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .355 as he collected 211 hits, 52 doubles, 9 triples, 7 home runs and 69 RBIs.

Really struck out on my rotation options, which weren't great to begin with. I think it's going to be a year of suck again for the Hooligans, despite a very strong offense.
