I keep forgetting that even after you sign a Type A, you can lose other 1st rounders that you acquire from your own Type A's.

This is an unfortunate OOTP glitch, at least assuming it was their intent to model MLB's compansation system. In real life, you can't lose those compensation picks signing Type As, only your own original picks. But, yes, here, you have to consider it.
A couple seasons ago, either here or in FOOL, I signed a Type A from an owner when I had the 15th overall pick and so I lost that pick. And then a few "in-sim days" later, he signed one of my Type A's, and I got as compensation...the pick I had just lost to him. It tripped me out because I saw that I had signed a Type A and yet still had my pick. It wasn't until I looked a little closer at what happened that I figured it out.
