#18 Rutgers travels to Pitt on Saturday, hitting the field at the same time as #20 Louisville hosts UConn. A Rutgers win assures them at least a share of the Big East championship.

A Rutgers win and a Louisville win sets up a de facto Big East Championship game between the two teams next Thursday on ESPN.

If Rutgers wins Saturday, but UConn upsets Louisville, Rutgers will win the conference and receive the BCS bid regardless of what happens on 11/29.

And #1 Notre Dame goes to a Barkley-less USC as well.

It wil be another interesting week in the Pac 12.

All three games (Furd @UCLA, the Civil War in Oregon and ND @USC) will be key and affect things going forward in big ways.

Texas starts a new Thanksgiving Day tradition of playing TCU instead of A&M. Just doesn't feel the same.

Looking forward to getting Ohio St. back on the winning track in this rivalry now that the Bucks have an actual head coach again.

Actually the new tradition is that Texas plays a home game on T-Day, irregardless of who the opponent is. Next year, for example, y'all will square off against Tech, in Austin of course. Not sure how the other members of the Big 12-2-2+2 will handle this, but a yearly national televised home game seems, well, Texas-ish.

Wow, not sure how I missed that. I do see that they have Tech at home on Nov. 28th, 2013. There was talk before about TCU being the perma-game on Thanksgiving. Home or away, since it was on Thanksgiving, it would always be a national game.

It will be interesting to see where they go from here. Cal, being in well-regarded university in a large sized urban area and close enough to the SoCal recruiting hotbed to matter, has the ability to be a big time program. But they are kinda like the way UCLA was, not really putting the administrative effort into ensuring their program meets the standards its natural benefits suggest it should have.

Technically, they thought they had it when they brought in Tedford and he did so well from the start. It turns out he took advantage of a weaker Pac 10 and didn't stay on top of what he needed to do.

The administration got the stadium renovated and they overpaid Tedford handsomely for years. Will they continue to pay big bucks and go out and get a big coach, especially with the new Pac 12 network money, or will they go back into the shell they were in pre-Tedford?

I honestly don't know.

Cal really isn't going to have a choice but to keep up in the pay department. Tedford was well paid, but his staff wasn't - it's one of the reasons why Sark was able to repeatedly raid his staff over the years.

With the $320M Cal owes on the stadium remodel, they absolutely need to stay competitive in football to sell those licensed seats and pay off the huge debt they're on the hook for.

FWIW, Bruce Feldman thinks Cal is one of two jobs (Oregon being the other) that might tempt Petersen to leave Boise State.

Conspiracy theorists could suggest that Auburn turned over some info to get an NCAA investigation, which is one of the clauses that allows them to fire Coach Chiz without paying the $11M buyout

Interesting rumor out of Iowa City. Iowa hired Greg Davis as a one year hold over. Ferentz knew the team didnt have WRs or RBs and wanted to just get through this year. A throw away year if you will. Davis signed a one year deal. Next year Brian Ferentz will take over as OC. And supposedly Iowa has a dual threat QB on the roster who will start.
If this is true its sad that Ferentz would throw away a year. But watching him on the sideline and reading his pressers, it does seem that way.
B Ferentz was at New England last year.

If this is all true, Im actually a lot more hopeful for next season.

Nebraska beats Iowa 60-0.

Lucky me will be watching it with Nebraska fans.

Go Hawks!

"Yeah guys, we meant to be terrible this year. Don't worry, everything will be fine next year."

I think part of the issue is why they didn't have any RBs or WRs in the first place and why simply hire a guy for one year. It just comes across as trying to reason a piss poor performance from your offense as a whole.

Ohio State 35, Michigan 31

I guess last year didn't happen.

ug.

Listening at work, just a horrible loss and one that could be the path to Sark getting fired ( I don't think he should be).

I didn't see the game but was listening. Were the penalties as bad as Huard made them seem to be or was he just being a homer?

I didn't really see any where it felt like something that shouldn't have been called. There was contact on the PI calls. Maybe you could have had some non-calls mixed in but Pac 12 refs are calling everything this year. I think they actually avoided getting called for any late hits for the first time in a while.

It was typical of most of the road games this year. Price started the game with happy feet so he didn't have any accuracy the first couple drives. Then they started getting called for holding at least once per drive.

They really are a young team for the most part and they play like it. I see no reason to be calling for Sark's job either. If some guys come back from injury next year then they should actually be a deep team that is in the ballpark of 9-10 wins. Even if they just get stronger mentally they could be a much better team.

And Nebraska pulls it out with Taylor Martinez getting 104 yards combined rushing/passing. The Big Ten is just brutal this year.

In other near-upset news, Arkansas deserved to lose for kicking the FG on 4th and goal from the 1 mid-4th quarter.

Did anyone watch Iowa this season? It was probably the worst coached team in America. It was a brutal season.
Punting on the opponents 30 yard line? Check.
Getting an illegal substitution penalty off a time out with 15 seconds left in the half? Check.
Running off tackle, down by 6 with 3 minutes left in the game with the wind at your back? Check.
Team wandering around at the end of the half in a hurry up offense with no idea what to do? Check.

And this from a $3.8 million dollar a year "coach".

You guys can rip me and blame a lack of talent and whatever else you want to do. But this team was very poorly coached. We had the easiest schedule in one of the worst conferences in the nation and lost our last 6 in a row. We didnt play Wisky, OSU and had PsU at home.

Our coach has no isea how to manage the clock. He is hyper conservative.

Mathean, we have decent RBs. and a decnet O Line. RBs dont have 200 yard rushing games that are sucky. We have 2 4 star TEs on the team. One is 6' 7" 260 lbs. But until today, we never utilized them.

And whats with the 0 yard passes and 3 yard outs on 3rd and 5 or more? Are you kidding me?

And why do we run a zone read option when everyone on the planet knows that our QB wont and/or is afraid to run the ball.

This is the most disappointing season I can remember. Courtesy of a coach making $3.8 million. I guess we should pay him $13 million a year. Then we win a national championship.

Sorry for the ramble.

Im so glad this season is over.

The only Big Ten game worth a damn this year will happen between Michigan and OSU. I don't know who wins but points will be scored.

He got a 10 year $3.8 million per year contract extension in 2010?
No, Iowa has always had issues with clock management. Ferentz has always been very conservative. This season, with not a lot of talent, it was magnified.
Ferentz has always coached not to lose. He tries to keep the score close and make fewer mistakes then the opponent.
This season the lack of coaching was terrible. Everything you saw today has happened all season and has never been addressed. In a previous game, Iowa got a delay of game penalty in a no huddle hurry up end of the half offense.
We scored all of 55 points in the last 4 games. 55 points. Wow. You better have a darn good defense. And this season, we didnt. While our defense was good it was on the field way too much. And got exposed.

Im hoping a pro team comes calling.

Not really a Pitt fan, no real connection to the school, but catch a good amount of their games.

Is there a more schizophrenic team in the country? They're either amazingly awful (YSU, Cincinnati, Syracuse) or look fantastic (VT, ND, Rutgers) .

Always interesting to see two teams play against a running QB every practice and then play against one in a game and act like they have no idea how to handle it.
