Wrong about Garzas defense. He is a good interior defender. What kills Iowa's defense is on the perimeter. Our guards are not quick until you get to the 2nd team.

As for the 2 young guys shooting[ CJ Frederick shot 48% from the 3 point line in HS. So this is not an aberration. Joe Weiskamp is the all time leading scorer in the state of Iowa for a HS player and was the first player since 2002 to average over 30 points a game. He did that as a Jr. As a Sr. he averaged 35 ppg.

Those 2 guys are pure scorers.

Iowa is built to score. They may lose to Gonzaga, but it is going to be a 95-90 type loss. More than likely Iowa will win the game.

Guard the post and you get UNCed, Guard the perimeter and your bigs get fouls and Garza scores 30.

Iowa drops 105 on ISU in a rivalry game. Garza hit 4 3s in the game.

Next.

Pfft.

Arizona State nearly hung that many on 'Zona AND gave up fewer points.

Gonzaga has two first team all americans and a top 3 NBA draft freshman on their squad, they're not losing.

I would call UK hot garbage but that's an insult to hot garbage. This team will be lucky to win 8 games - and that's if they improve by 200% and play a few weak SEC teams.

Anyone know about her? I thought she was a bit overglorified as a high schooler but she's been pretty crazy so far. Definitely a much more talented scorer than Ionescu was as a freshman.

I have not watched a UCONN game as of yet this year to make any comments on how she plays. Two things from that highlight package.

1. I really like watching any basketball game in a small venue.

2. It really looks like UCONN women's basketball talent has fallen off outside of this player.

That's because they had a dry spell in recruiting so the post Breanna Stewart era they went from consecutive title winners to consecutive final four team. Which is still ridiculous for a powerhouse school if you consider those as down years.

Womens BB is a strange bird. Iowa had a a couple studs that play in the WNBA now, yet they didnt sniff the final 4 because there were 4 teams that had all the rest of the talent.

Iowa could beat that team. If they can figure out Suggs and actually make a damn 3 and FT.

As I said, Iowa's perimeter defense is not good. They need to fix that and get Bohannon on track, that guy hasn't found his stroke yet.

I don't know if any other conferences are doing this, but I was looking at the Horizon League conference schedule and they are not playing any games during the week and playing Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday doubleheaders against the same team. I know it's travel/money related, but it just looks weird to see basketball teams playing back-to-back games against the same team once a week. Looks like a baseball/softball schedule.

Iowa's defense folds in the final minutes and overtime to the Gophers. They let a 20 percent 3 point shooter nail 4 of them in OT and 8 for the game.

Big Ten looks a lot like last year. A bunch of really good teams with no excellent teams.

Zaga just dropped 98 points and destroyed Virginia. Virginia held teams to 52 PPG last year and currently 54 this year. Kispert had nine threes and was pulled out with 5 minutes left to go in the game.

That was a statement win for Texas. 25 point victory over Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. 11 months ago Shaka was dead man walking.

Texas with another big road win, this time over West Virginia. Last year the Mountaineers ran the Horns out of town with a 38 point win. Texas didn't have a lead the entire 2nd half until they hit a 3 with 1.8 seconds left.

Andrew Jones was the one that hit the 3, and it was 3 years ago today it was announced he had leukemia.

That's a big win and Morgantown is a hard place to win at, especially with the way Huggins's teams play

Great game. Huggins is still adjusting to Oscar not being on the team and trying to modernize the offense with the focus on the perimeter rather than pound the ball underneath with 2 bigs.

The teams ceiling isn't what it was, but I'm hopeful Huggs has this team ready by March.

Iowa was down 19-9 to Maryland the other day in the first 4 minutes. Fran put a shoe up some asses and by half it was 44-26, Iowa. They looked really good after that slow start.

I haven't paid close enough attention to the Tshiebwe situation so I'm not sure what's up with that but it's a big loss for WVU. But Huggins always seems to cobble together something anyways

He worked out away from the team all offseason, showed up out of shape, played poorly, his handlers (who are his AAU coaches) panicked because it was hurting his draft stock, so they started shopping him around to get him away from Huggs. It's no coincidence he spent a weekend in Miami with those handlers working out before he left the team and then put Miami on his shortlist of transfer options.

Oscar is a good kid, but he has people taking advantage of the fact that he's a talented basketball player from another country.

Iowa exacts revenge on Minnesota Jordan Bohanons line was crazy 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists as a PG.

a missed FT away from being perfect in B1HG play.

Texas Tech did to Texas what Texas did to West Virginia. Trailed the whole game, and won the game with a last second shot.

FSU was scuffling, lost 2 out of 3, then got hit with Covid and didn't play for 15 days, with 3 games postponed. Last night, first game back, they shot 71%, scored 105 points and blew out NC State.

Not sure how they are going to handle make-up games. I can't imagine back-loading the schedule headed into conference tournament makes much sense, but it may have to be.
