We host Phoenix who are 14-12...

They upset us 104-96. Turner with 24 points, Mayo with 19, and Tiggs with 16 but no one else had a good game.

Balanced scoring at the half and great team defense. We lead 44-32.

Turner leads with 10 points, 4 boards, and 5 assists.

Sloppy 3rd quarter. We lead 62-55.

A strong 4th helps us coast to the win. We win the game 88-70.

Speights is the player of the game with 16 points, 14 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 8 of 11.

Mayo with 15 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 6 of 16.

Turner with 12 points, 12 boards, 9 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 4 of 13.

Guy Ball, my 6'6 200 pound PG/SG who is rated 71 overall is demanding more PT or a trade.

Dec 22nd -

We travel to Toronto who are 15-11 and rated 86 overall. We win 102-92 but Speights is dinged up with a hammy and will play hurt for a few weeks.

Turner led the way with 22 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks.

Villanueva with 16 points. Mayo with 13 points, 10 boards, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.

Kelley with 11 points, Fuller with 10, and Jefferson with 10 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks.

Tiggs with 9 points and 3 assists. Speights with 7 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks.

We have 4 days off for Christmas...

Dec 24th -

The Suns offer a very interesting trade - Hasheem Thabeet and their 1st round pick in 2015 for Mo Williams and our 2016 1st round pick...

This would allow Ball to play more minutes while also giving us a defensive shot blocker when we need it. Plus, it would give us a chance to get a better player in this upcoming draft...

I pull the trigger! Risky considering how well we are playing, but I think this is a good move for us that increases our versatility.

Dec 26th -

The new lineup doesn't gel and we get crushed 105-85.

Mayo led the way with 23 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks. Turner with 21 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

Ball with 6 points and 4 assists in 16 minutes. He shot 3 of 6. Tiggs shot a terrible 1 of 12 tonight.

Our next game is at the Clippers on the 27th.

The Clippers and we are both 21-9 and equally talented. This should be a tough road game.

A very rough 1st quarter in which only Turner could score. We are down 24-12.

Thabeet with a very good 2nd quarter on the defensive end. At halftime, we are up 38-37. Turner with 19 points and 3 assists.

We lead 58-57 at the end of 3. Strong defense from our interior guys.

Griffin with a nice move in the paint to tie it at 77 with 50 seconds left...

Turner misses a 14 footer. Beaubois with a 12 footer at the other end.

With 3 seconds left, down by 2, Turner draws a double team and finds an open Speights for the dunk. Tied at 79.

They call time and we get Thabeet into the game. He has had several blocks already. They shoot a deep 3 and miss. We are going to OT.

Turner with 8 straight points. We bring in Thabeet. We are up 87-83 with 2:45 to go..

We win the game 97-87. Strong OT for us to finish it out.

Turner is the player of the game with 36 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 7 turnovers. He shot 12 of 24.

Mayo with 18 points, 3 boards, 2 steals, and a block. He had 4 turnovers. He shot 7 of 14.

Jefferson with 13 points, 20 boards, and 1 block. He shot 6 of 11.

Tiggs with 11 points, 16 assists, 6 steals, and 4 turnovers.

Thabeet played 28 minutes and finished with 6 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks. He altered many other shots too.

Speights with 27 minutes, 5 points, 2 boards, and 1 block. His sore hammy is slowing him down.

Kelley with 4 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists. Villanueva with 4 points, 3 boards, and 1 assist. Ball with 1 board, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 10 minutes.

Griffin led them with 24 points and 15 boards. Huffman with 20 points.

We started off strong, but had a bad last 4 minutes of the 1st quarter while Turner rested. We are down 24-20.

At the end of 3, we are down 71-68. Turner with a rough quarter but Jefferson stepped up big on the offensive end.

Turner led us with 25 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 9 of 23.

Tiggs with 7 points and 9 assists. He shot 2 of 12.

The Pistons are right behind me with a 25-13 record, but their chemistry is fracturing. Ginobili and Stuckey are both complaining about their playing time. With John Wall, Ginobili, Stuckey, Felix De La Rosa, and Rip Hamilton they have a very talented but very crowded back court. Meanwhile, Bynum is having a very good year for them and is as happy as can be.

Jan 19th -

We are now 27-13. we travel to face 16-26 Orlando who are squandering a ton of talent..

Dwight Howard has a 21 point 19 rebound 4 block game to lead the Magic to a 96-92 win over.

The new look Jazz are interesting: Deron Williams, Marcel Micoud, Michael Beasle, Kevin Love, and Al Jefferson are starting. However, their bench is weak with the best player being young SG Andrew Faulk.

At the end of 1, we are up 24-15. Mayo is having an all around great 1st quarter.

At halftime, we are up 55-40. Balanced team play this quarter.

Mayo with 13 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists at the half.

Wow. During the 3rd quarter this team played up to their full potential. I see Championships in our future.

We are leading 92-58 at the end of 3.

I pull my starters with a 102-66 lead and 9 minutes to go in the game.

Ball and Thabeet with good scoring in garbage time.

After the game, the Celtics offer me Glen Davis for Villanueva and Kelley. That is an easy deal to say no to.

I am going to run more fast break in our simulated games as well as a higher tempo offense. I think we have the guys to do well with that..

Jan 24th -

We host a 20-23 Sacramento team that is rated 84 overall..

Our new high attacking offense leads us to a 126-111 win. Mayo led the team with 28 points, 7 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 10 of 15.

Turner with 26 points, 10 assists, 4 boards, and 1 steal. He shot 7 of 15.

Speights with 23 points and 10 boards.

Tiggs with 13 points and 5 assists. Villanueva with 12 points and 5 boards.

Ball with 9 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes off the bench. Fuller with 7 points in 7 minutes. Kelley with 6 points and 5 boards.

Thabeet with 4 boards and 3 blocks in 16 minutes.

Jefferson with 5 boards and 2 blocks. No shots in 20 minutes.

Owen Blake of Washington was named East Player of the Week for the first time in his career. Despite his stellar play, the Wizards are 16-28 and looking like they are giving me a lottery pick..

Jan 26th -

We travel to face a Boston team that is 15-30 and rated 83 overall.

We are now 30-15. Our next game is against Memphis who are 33-13 with a rating of 94 (same as ours.)

In other news, Kevin Love suffered a torn hamstring and is done for the regular season at least.

Time for the Knicks game...

10 minutes left and Tiggs has 2 fouls. He will sit down for a bit. Fuller into the game with Turner moving to the point.

We are up 30-18 at the end of 1.

Halftime, we are up 56-40. Very balanced team play for us.

Speights with 11 points. Mayo with 10 points and 7 boards.

9:13 to go and Turner goes down with an ankle/foot/lower leg injury.. it doesn't look good! Tiggs slides to SG and Ball comes in at PG.

A few minutes later, we get the report. Turner will miss the All-Star game and about a month, but the docs feel it is only a severe ankle sprain.

At the end of 3, we are up 85-67. This team has so many great offensive weapons. Speights with a huge quarter.

We are at the Knicks in a home-and-home.

The Trailblazers offer me their 1st round pick (likely very high) and SG Wesley Matthews for Bernie Jefferson and my Wizards 1st round pick. That is very easy to turn down.

The Cavs offer J.J. Hickson for Speights and our 1st round pick from the Wizards. Also easy to turn off.

Without Turner, we fall to the Knicks 113-112.

Mayo led our team with 24 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 5 turnovers. He shot 10 of 21.

Tiggs with 19 points, 6 assists, and 7 turnovers. He shot 8 of 16.

Villanueva with 16 points and 9 boards. Jefferson with 12 points, 12 boards, and 3 blocks.

Fuller with 12 points and 4 boars. Ball with 10 points and 2 assists in 15 minutes. Ball will start along side Tiggs in our next game.

Speights shot 4 of 15 and finished with 9 points, 8 boards, and 1 block.

Ramos with 6 points and 4 boards in 15 minutes.

Feb 8th -

We are at Atlanta. They are 23-29 but are rated 91 overall which is higher than we are without Turner...

We win 108-98. Ball runs the point perfectly in hsi first start and ends up with 14 points and 7 assists. Villanueva thrives off the bench and leads our team with 28 points on 13 of 17 shooting.

Mayo with 19 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists. Fuller with 15 points in 14 minutes off the bench.

Tiggs with 10 points. Jefferson with 9 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks.

Speights with an off night - 8 points and 6 boards.

Thabeet with 1 points, 6 boards, and 1 block in 16 minutes.

We are now 35-16 but still 6 games behind the Heat.

Our next game is hosting Orlando on the 9th.

The Trailblazers traded Wesley Matthews to the Hawks for Jordan Farmar and Chris Gray.

The Trailblazers fired Flip Saunders.

The Bobcats traded Shannon Brown to the Nets for Trevor Frank and C.J. Miles

We have 4 more games before the All-Star break.

At the end of 1, we are up 24-20. Tiggs and Mayo leading the way.

The good news: Our defense was incredible in the 2nd quarter.

The bad news: Our offense was putrid in the 2nd quarter.

At halftime, we are up 38-34.

At the end of 3, we are up 58-54.

1:13 left in the game, we are down 76-75 and they have the ball...

We can't stop Lawson from scoring on a 12 footer.

Mayo who has had a rough night shooting misses a 3.

Mayo gets a defensive board and starts the fastbreak which ends with a Jefferson dunk and the foul! Jefferson misses the FT to tie it..

We get a defensive stop. Mayo sets up Speights for an open 12 footer with 3 seconds left... and Speights misses it long!

They get the board.

We foul Lawson who makes both FT's.

We lose the game 80-77 as Tiggs misses a desperation 3.

Howard is the player of the game with 21 points, 18 boards, and 3 blocks.

Harden added 18 and rookie Herman Arnold added 15 points. The #5 player in the draft, he looks like a good one.

Tiggs led us with 27 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 8 of 20.

Mayo with 19 points, 15 boards, 6 assists. He shot 7 of 16.

Speights with 10 points and 9 boards. Kelley with 7 points.

Villanueva with 4 points. Jefferson with 4 points, 10 boards, and 1 block. He shot 2 of 9.

Ball with 4 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals. He shot 2 of 8.

Thabeet with 2 points and 4 boards.

The Celtics offer Glen Davis for Bernie Jefferson straight up. I turn them down.

Feb 11th -

We host the Spurs who are 24-28 with a rating of 81. Iggy is their offense.

We win 112-80. Iggy led them with 21 points on 8 of 17 shooting.

Villanueva led us with 21 points. Speights with 20 points. Mayo with 20 points, 8 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 6 of 18.

Tiggs with 18 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists. Fuller with 14 points in 15 minutes.

Kelley with 11 points. Jefferson with 3 points and 10 boards.

Ball with 3 points and 5 assists. Thabeet with 2 points, 2 boards, and a block in 14 minutes.

After the game, the Bucks offer PF Larry Sanders and SF Barry Gooden for Speights and Tiggs. I turn them down.

The All Stars were announced:

In the East:

G: Derrick Rose (5th), Wade (9th), LeBron (9th), Josh Smith (5th), Bynum (3rd.) Reserves: Brandon Jennings (3rd), Owen Blake (2nd), Danny Granger (4th), Tyrus Thomas (3rd), Brook Lopez (4th), Jonny Flynn (1st), and Darren Collison (1st)

West:

Chris Paul (8th), Tyreke Evans (4th), Kevin Durant (6th), Carmelo Anthony (8th), Al Jefferson (4th.) Reserves: Russell Westbrook (5th), Iggy! (3rd), Rudy Gay (2nd), Donnie Hodges (3rd), Billy Crawford (2nd), Deron Williams (6th), and Michael Conley (1st.)

The Hornets offer their 1st and Josh Childress for Bernie Jefferson and Kelley. That is slightly tempting but I turn it down.

Feb 12th -

We play at the Thunder...

They crush us 117-87.

Westbrook led them with 31 points and 14 assists. Durant with 23 points and 14 boards.

Speights led us with 20 points. Tiggs shot 5 of 13 and had 13 points and 5 assists.

Mayo shot 6 of 18 and had 12 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Jefferson with 8 points, 9 boards, and 3 blocks. Kelley with 7 points.

Our next game is at the Grizzlies on the 15th.

Before the game, The Lakers offer me Jordan Crawford for Villanueva and my 1st round pick from the Wizards. That is slightly tempting as Crawford is a guy my staff feels has a very high ceiling, but I like Villanueva's role on my team and I think that 1st round pick might be a lottery pick. I turn the deal down.

Wow. Flynn with 63 points in a 117-103 win for the Cavs over the Warriors. Even more amazing he also had 12 assists, accounting for at least 87 of their 117 points. He shot 24 of 30.

Everyone had a good quarter, but Ball had an amazing 3rd quarter including a deep buzzer beating 3 to end the quarter. We are up 76-56 as our defense smothered them! A great showing against a top notch team!

With 4 minutes to go and a 94-65 lead, we pull our starters.

We win the game 94-77.

They upset us 96-94 behind 25 points from Owen Blake and 24 from from 2nd year PG Marshall Samuel who is blossoming into a star.

Speights led us with 18. Villanueva and Tiggs with 14. Kelley and Ball with 11. Ball also had 10 assists.

In news around the League:

Mayo is the Rookie of the Month in the East for the 4th straight month. All signs point to him being named rookie of the year.

Brandon Jennings is leading the league in PER by a wide margin and has a good shot at being named MVP. Turner is 10th in the league with a 25.9 PER.

We are now 40-20 and 6 games behind the Heat and 2nd in the East. Our next game is hosting the Thunder who are 44-18 with a current roster rating of 87. They revolve around Durant, Westbrook, and Green now with Aldrich and Nene playing rolls as well. They haven't missed Harden too much, but they definitely have less top tier talent.

Our home crowd is going crazy today for this game against the Thunder.

Durant with 11 points in the 1st quarter. Turner with a quiet quarter, but Jefferson went into beast mode with 11 points and 5 boards in the 1st quarter. He is much too physical for Jeff Green who they have playing PF.

We lead 23-21 at the end of 1.

Wow. We demolished them in the 2nd quarter. Great defense and offense.

We lead 55-33 at the half.

Jefferson with 17 points and 9 boards at the half.

Middle of the 3rd quarter, Turner and Cole Aldrich collide and Turner is hurt. It doesn't look good...

Next up is a Detroit team that is VERY talented:

PG John Wall is one of the top 3 in the league. 6'4 195 and rated 98 overall. Averaging 23.5 ppg and 8.9 apg.

C Andrew Bynum is the best in the East offensively. He's 7'0 285 and rated 89 overall. Averaging 15.5 ppg and 10.2 rpg.

SF Raynardo Gomez is Detroit's #1 pick from 2012. He's 6'6 227 SF who is rated 86 overall. He's a well balanced player who doesn't excel in any area. He's averaging 12.8 ppg and 6.2 rpg.

PF Anthony Randolph is a tough rebounder who can score. He's 6'11 225 and rated 85 overall. He's averaging 14.9 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

The only issue that might help us is their top 2 options at SG are both unhappy about PT:

Manu Ginobili is 37 and is upset that he isn't getting more minutes. He's rated 81 still and is a good defender. He's averaging 8 ppg in a reduced role after averaging 19 ppg for Detroit last year.

G Rodney Stuckey is 6'5 205 and is 29. He's not starting but getting significant minutes at both guard spots. He's unhappy that he isn't starting though. He's rated 81 overall. He's averaging 17 ppg and 5 apg despite being unhappy.

SG Felix De La Rosa is also unhappy with the rotation. He's their #4 pick from 2011 and he's rated 80 overall at 6'5 220. He's averaging 7.3 ppg and 3.3 apg in limited action.

No doubt, they have talent but we have better chemistry...

SF Shawn Marion provides enrergy off the bench. He's 36 and rated 68 now.

SG Richard Hamilton is playing few minutes but is ok with it. He's 37 now. He's averaging 2.3 ppg. He's rated 66 overall.

They have no backup depth at PF and C. That will be where we attack...

The other playoff series are:

#1 Oklahoma vs #5 Clippers, #2 Memphis vs #3 Lakers, #1 Miami vs #4 Toronto. Detroit is #2, we are #3.

9:15 to go in the 1st and Tiggs gets a 2nd foul on Bynum with a good drive into the lane. We lead 9-2.

Wall goes on a tear before he tires a bit.

At the end of 1, we are up 31-20. A strong 1st quarter on the road.

I think this is a good match-up for us.

Turner with an amazing game - 25 points, 16 assists (he even set up Thabeet for a few easy dunks), 3 boards, 3 steals, and 1 block. He shot 10 of 17, 4 of 8, and 1 of 2.
