Restoring of a Nation: The Victory League
World War I.
The deadliest, grisliest, most awful war humanity has ever witnessed. Four long years of fighting and dying, heartbreak and agony. But in the end, it was worth it, for we triumphed over the German menace and returned liberty and peace to Europe and the world at large. Now we must restore our nation, heal the terrible wounds the American public suffered, and rebuild our happiness. The way to revived happiness lies in our mighty country's greatest game, our national pastime. It lies in baseball.

Victory League to Start Play in 1919
Major League Baseball may have already resumed, but the baseball talk that's sweeping the nation is centered around a new league set to begin play next spring, the Victory League. The association will play a 160 game schedule and be divided into two subleagues, the Blue League and the Grey League, each with four teams at inception. As the names suggest, the Blue League will feature franchises from the North, with the Grey League hosting teams in the South. The inagural eight cities have been determined and are as follows: Blue League Detroit Milwaukee Pittsburgh Washington D.C. Grey League Durham Nashville Richmond Savannah The decision to place the Blue League's teams all in cities with MLB franchises is one that some question the wisdom of, but time will tell whether or not the clubs can stay solvent in such a competitive environment. Players will be randomly assigned to teams via a lottery system in early 1919. The ownership groups in each awarded city are calling for suggestions for franchise nicknames from potential fans and have asked that names be mailed to their offices for consideration. A list of addresses for each respective franchise follows

Oh, just to clarify:
The suggestions comment in the article meant I'm taking user input for team names. The only rule I have is this: Nickname suggestions can not be the same as any current or past MLB team name.
