Because I can't stand it when a duke just randomly picks someone at deadline. They usually hit a villager and quite often a roled player. Read into that as you wish.

Main reason is that ntn is one of the four that I feel has at least one if not two wolves. It's early in the game and even if we're wrong that list is down to three. And there is no chance Narc chose to scan ntn, so at least I know the scan wont be wasted.

Hmm, well that makes NTN a better suspect again, I guess. I had a feeling Chief was bad, and since he was on NTN I was feeling better about him. Even though it didn't work yet today I'll probably stick with my list, now of NTN, Bug and Jackal, because I'm not smart enough to think of a new one.
