McKeane is on the list because he had the strangest career of anyone in FOOL history. After seven dominant years as a closer, he did the reverse Eck and became a starter. He had seven good seasons as a starter. His 1964 season is the stuff of legends 4-0 record with a 0.75 ERA, 40 saves.
He has the fewer innings pitched of anyone on the Top 100 strikeouts list and the most saves of anyone on that list. You had a list of the best 47 pitchers in FOOL history (one for each of our years) he'd have to be on the list. He's probably one of the Top 20 closers in history and not among the top starters, but given that he had no business being successful as a starter at all -- and that he did it in more than one place -- makes him a guy that I think we need to recognize. Ill shoot over my 2 cents
I dont like any of the starters to get in. I like closers Patrick, Diaz, and Quinn (although im on the bubble with Diaz and Quinn) Mckeane is an interesting argument (would like to hear more from everybody else on him) No to Dawson Yes to Morales Yes to Wilson Yes to Guerrero Yes to Feliex No to Ogai |

Juan Morales was one of my best ever draft picks. I traded him to Hartford early in his career for starting pitching help. I don't think the arm or two I get ever really had great success unfortunately. It appears muns got plenty from Morales' surprisingly short career, although it was in absentia (during the 90s).

Pete McKeane is the only guy who was with me for all of my titles. He was with me in '63 and '64 and even '65 when we lost to New York. He was with me in '69 in Compton and then ended up with me in Quad City and then came back in '75 to win another title with me. He was in the minors for the '61 playoffs, but...I didn't win the title that year anyway, but other than that, he's been on all of my pennant winning squads.
If he'd played into the 80s, I most certainly would've found a way to bring him to Boston, too. I tend to be like Bill Parcells in that way in my fake sports leagues.

Im fine with him DC. Nobody else seems to have had an opinion on him and in my eyes on how he played stats wise, he would have had a shot at it if he just stayed at one spot, so im good. Its actually neat to see a guy go from one spot to another and see his success.
